I was doing some browsing of the CVG website and came across this presentation that was given to the boards meeting in March. The interesting part begins on slide 6 where it shows a preliminary design/layout for changes to the terminal. If any of this happens, it likely wouldn't start until 2025 or later. I personally like the plan in the presentation as I feel it would help the main ticketing area feel more open. Adding the additional drop off lanes would also help the flow. I'm really curious if there are any plans for the empty space below the TSA screening area. I believe it was a waiting area for the shuttles to Concourse C back in the day. https://assets.ctfassets.net/38z8fjm5i4nh/4M8347nKMA3r6wmVnM6DI3/490eb08fc2eee794b3a827b31e549fc9/Elevate_CVG_Terminal_Modernization_Program_Board_Meeting_2024.03.18.pdf

Cincy_Travels replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI only know of this TIF because it was voted on in a recent City Council meeting. I'm not 100% up to date on stuff but I try to watch the meetings when I can. Here's the link to the referenced meeting: https://www.youtube.com/live/fwqTQoxtUuM?si=ZN9e8DgL1Pu179nG

Cincy_Travels replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThat's a great catch! Though I'm not sure how much I belive that PLK can afford to purchase a functioning manufacturing site (Siemens) to convert it to residential as well as purchase another manufacturing site (Multi-Color) that is guaranteed to require a lot of environmental remediation. They still have the lot on Montgomery of the old Quality Inn that they haven't started construction on. Edit: The city did just pass a L shaped TIF zone that encompasses the Siemens property, the Multi-Color property, and the multi family properties in between. Just an interesting development coupled with what the brochure says.

I love seeing these old photos of the city, but it makes me sad to know what was demolished.

Cincy_Travels replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionYeah I belive that's the spot for that one. PLK had also mentioned a while back they were looking to build an 11 story apartment tower in the lot directly north of the one you circled. It would go directly behind (to the east) of Jeni's.

Cincinnati Southern Railway
I don't have a dog in this fight since I don't live within the Cincinnati city limits, but I thought I had read previously that the payments received from Norfolk & Southern would be carried out over years. If that's the case, the returns from the fund would be negligible for a while after the sale. Is that not correct? Will the city receive a lump sum payment?

With CVG's numbers looking good for the year and looking like they're going to be close to 2019 numbers, I got curious how those look compared to the forecasted numbers from the newest Master Plan. In the below spreadsheet, I've compared, passenger numbers, cargo, and operations on an annual basis to the forecasted numbers and the PAL guidelines in the 2050 Master Plan that was completed in 2017. Obviously the 2023 numbers are YTD so those will clearly rise. Let me know your thoughts/opinions. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VqJdaq_ITWj0vu8a3MdZ42dd1L__YFUhXhEuMejJ4hc/edit?usp=drivesdk

When I drove by a few days ago, the interior was being gutted but the exterior looked fine. Have they started demolishing the exterior? I thought it was going to be a full remodel but with the existing structure staying.

CVG posted the Air Service updates for July and August. Below is the basic information for YTD through August. I'm not sure why they alternate the format of the report month to month.
