Other major sports events include competing with Indiana to host the B1G football championship game and getting a college football bowl game in Cleveland.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Sorry combined thoughts. The flats (or maybe it's one of the restaurants) usually puts a huge screen out for big games for everyone to gather around to watch (like the Cavs playoff games). I can imagine ESPN Cleveland being outside during those games sort of like what has been done by ESPN on East 4th in the past. Currently they are at Erieview on East 9th.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I’m all for it because there is no shortage of restaurants down there and I don’t think the area can really support anything other than that really. There is also something about having ESPN sports right there that will make the flats feel even more like a place to go to watch sports (especially for big games where they have a huge screen set up).

It's been so long, what was that space before it was vacant?

Cleveland: Natural History Museum Renovation and Expansion
Yeah that's because it was. It has black exposed painted ceilings and a decent amount of dark colors on the walls as well. This couldn't be more different than how it is currently. Love it!

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
Couldn’t fit the whole screen shot in the post but it’s encouraging to see Bibb caring about the market.

2022 U.S. Senate Race
Because of trumpism guys like Nino and Jordan have a great chance to be the republican nominee. As someone who leans republican it’s sad what this party is turning into.

Based on what employees are saying on Reddit, I think the new hires are overseas unfortunately.

Personal Finance / Investing Thread
Between Citadel/Robinhood connection with hedge funds and then only allowing people to sell, I don't see how they are not losers of the class action lawsuit. These massive hedge funds manipulate the market constantly. It's about time they got a taste of their own medicine.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
https://247sports.com/nfl/detroit-lions/Article/Lions-sale-Dan-Gilbert-could-pursue-purchase-124721017/ This is from the end of 2018 but it was at the beginning of him selling off the casinos. I will say think about you want as a person, but he is way more willing to invest in the team than the Dolans are.

Greater Cleveland Taxation
Not both in full but close to it. Like for Shaker Heights there is a 1% credit.

Greater Cleveland Taxation
Cuyahoga County is home to the 6 places that have the highest tax rates in the state. Honestly, we really can’t afford to pass much more levies and taxes. They are just getting to the point where people won’t live in the county due to the taxes. I know some of them already exist but go much further past 4K per 100k in property taxes and many more people will either be priced out or refuse to pay that much in taxes. https://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/2021/01/these-cuyahoga-county-places-have-ohios-highest-property-tax-rates-thats-rich-recap.html Then we also have to include the fact that we have the highest sales tax in the state as well. https://tax.ohio.gov/static/tax_analysis/tax_data_series/sales_and_use/salestaxmap.pdf What are potential solutions other than higher taxes when there is a need (such as transit, schools, etc.)?

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
Also, with who is behind it (primarily the Clinic, but also Case, CSU, UH, and MH) and then you factor in $265 million dollars in investment from the State, you know that even if it doesn't reach its intended goal that what happens is still going to be transformative. It's a much bigger more realistic version of City Block (all 10 renditions that it had). I also love this part of the Cleveland.com article CSU President Harlan Sands said the universities involved plan to double the number of people graduating with 19 specific degrees over the next decade. What is one of the reasons Columbus is successful? Ohio State! If Cleveland State does indeed double in the tech/science degrees over the next 10 years the effects will be outstanding.

Nah turn that into more convention space (I think that is already what they have planned anyway).

2022 U.S. Senate Race
I lean republican (did not vote for trump) but if Jim Jordan wins the nomination, it’ll be another reason for me to give up on the party.

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
100,000,000 (yes 100 million) in annual payroll is huge! That's 2.5 million dollars a year in income tax to the city alone not to mention all the indirect economic impact of having people with these incomes here.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I agree. The more things to do downtown the better. Every year (besides this year - thanks CoViD) my wife and I spend two nights in downtown and we like to experience all downtown has to offer along with Rapid trips to Ohio City and University Circle. While I love downtown, it lacks shopping and overall could use more things to do especially during the day. Losing the movie theatre (although it had seen better days) is another activity that is not available downtown anymore. If Sherwin Williams does indeed provide another experience for families and kids, then I am all for it. But time will tell if they are actually doing it or if it will be quality.

Cleveland: West Side Market News & Info
This should be a huge talking point for mayoral candidates such as Justin Bibb.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
It makes sense. You have an anchor tenant with 1400+ jobs (has to be one of the largest tenants downtown). Hopefully this happens!

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Reading the article Kelley says in it its not a done deal and we are competing with Arizona. Hopefully that is the usual empty threat to just get the incentives needed. 1000 jobs is huge especially since they are high paying professional jobs. This alone makes up for us losing out on the R&D for SHW. Then you add Cross Country, jobs being added for SHW headquarters, and Cleveland Cliffs potentially adding lots of new jobs downtown because of the acquisitions. Outlook for Downtown Cleveland definitely is promising.

We know that some of these people definitely will be there and although they may look different, their points will remain the same.

Just another instance of us needing change at city hall.

I was thinking that but at the same time Bedrock owns the Higbee building so i think it makes it doubtful! edit: Guess i was wrong about the Higbee building!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
While I’m not for being on public square I do think you could make a mini museum/flag ship store. Where you 1) Have access to experimental paints 2) Show rooms featuring the paints of the year ala IKEA 3) The ability to create, name, and buy your own paint color. 4) Rooms that are dedicated to paint and sip parties (these are extremely popular and would need reservations) 5) Room that has the history of SHW 6) An area that talks about the psychology of paint and emotions. Might even be able to have something interactive where you see a color and guess the emotion that goes with it. 7) Potentially a place with washable fast drying paints where kids could make their own creation (and even adults). 8) A room featuring sweet cars showing off sherwin Williams paints. I don’t know something like this would be worth a trip (at least for me).
