  1. https://www.clevelandairport.com/sites/default/files/cle_jun_2023_pax_results_for_web.pdf Cleveland does a good job updating stats at the airport. 11m won’t happen but solid chance to hit 10m (I believe the prediction by the airport is they will exceed it this year).
  2. You would think that they would want to disassociate from the previous iteration after what happened. Top Thrill 2 sounds pretty lame to be honest. Still really excited to ride it though!
  3. https://www.cleveland.com/news/2023/07/two-ohio-cities-named-top-100-best-places-to-live-in-us.html Little did Ohioans know that the real gem of the state is found in North East Ohio. Parma, OH was ranked 35th in the best places to live in the country. That’s right Parma, OH 😂 I mean it’s not awful but seriously haha.
  4. Stupid question but does the core shrink as it goes higher because the number of elevators needing to reach that level drops in number?
  5. It is interesting that Warren, Youngstown lost Mercer County. Poor little Mercer County is now its own Micropolitan Statistical Area. I do find that strange too because living in Warren, the amount of people who would travel between counties seemed really high but numbers must have shown otherwise. That loss will greatly shrink the Warren Youngstown MSA. It will go from ~535k to ~425k.
  6. I really like how they dropped Elyria from the MSA name. I always thought it was funny that they saw Elyria as a big enough city to be listed as part of the MSA. I am sure there is some method to the madness of determining whether or not a secondary city is listed.
  7. Having lived in Warren/Youngstown the tricky part is while Youngstown leans more Cleveland than Pittsburgh, for many in Mahoning County, Pittsburgh is slightly closer and there are people who go to Pittsburgh for fun instead of Cleveland and whose allegiance is to Pittsburgh (again I'd say the majority is still more for Cleveland though). Now Warren/Trumbull County is closer to Cleveland and definitely the vast majority of people go to Cleveland for fun instead of Pittsburgh.
  8. Seems like it is another list that looks at just the city and not the metro. With our city have such a small percentage of our actual metro size we always look bad in lists like these.
  9. Someone want to be a hero and do this but with the Fortune 1000?
  10. So this confirms Avery Dennison is now headquartered in Mentor. Least advertised Fortune 500 move I can remember. Probably not a huge difference in workforce but still nice after losing travel centers.
  11. Found one of the reasons why. For everything they provided stats for the msa which makes sense. But for whatever reason they took the unemployment rate of the city which is why it is over 9% and why cleveland has an insanely bad rating for jobs/economy in the rankings.
  12. Yeah but it explains why you have seen so much construction with population loss. Actually, between the 2010 to 2020 the amount of occupied housing units in Cleveland proper even increased. Our construction still is nowhere compared to most cities which is why other cities are experiencing the same trends with household sizes but are not losing population.
  13. It already has changed a decent amount. Compare the one GIS posted to this one which was the year after the reppraisals. https://clevelandhometitle.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/CHT-Cuyahoga-County-2021-Tax-Rates.pdf
  14. You know it’s a dumb list when they have youngstown above cleveland. No offense to Youngstown but I’ve lived in both and there is no comparison.
  15. That doesn't seem like enough to do anything transformational.
  16. This is a more recent thing. See this article for example https://www.axios.com/local/cleveland/2023/01/10/major-concerts-skipping-cleveland
  17. Gotcha! Now way to embed a poll in a topic though?
  18. Is there a way to post polls? With the debate going on with the landbridge in downtown Cleveland, it'd be interesting to do a poll and see how the majority feel.
  19. I get the arguments against but we always say that we need this city to be forward thinking and this may be our best shot in a long while to finally connect the downtown to the Lakefront. I think it's worth doing.
  20. Could be. It doesn't help that artists and people like Howard Stern have complained when the ceremony is held in Cleveland. I am just thankful that they are expanding here instead of making a second location elsewhere which would inevitably end up being the main location overtime.
  21. Actually last year was in LA. Next year is in Cleveland. They are going back to the three year rotation but have talked about adding other cities including even London in the mix.
  22. Moving to the Falls and will be a 10 minute walk from downtown. Excited that this area has been on the rise for sometime and this will just add to it!
  23. Yeah I know lots of people who do quick weekend getaways and absolutely love value carriers. Also, sometimes couples, wanting to save money will just have one bag and do the value carrier.
  24. @Dougaldoes this make you think that Frontier is choosing CLE?
  25. Perhaps. I also think the Deshaun Watson decision has sent the view of the Browns from neutral to negative by many of the nonsports fans in Cleveland which in turn may have made an expensive new stadium unlikely to garner majority support.
