  1. Does Allard realize that he comes across as a tabloid writer with the way he words his solicitation? Anyway I hope we find out what the differences are. The fact that several high up people have left CSU as outline in the Cleveland.com's article is disconcerting.
  2. 6 billion revenue beating expectations along with 801 million in profit. The rise of this company has been outstanding and Gonclaves says it will only grow once the automobile chip shortage ends. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2022/04/us-backed-supply-chain-helps-cleveland-cliffs-deliver-strong-quarter-ceo-argues-for-end-of-globalization.html
  3. Don't know how the Browns are going to do with the cap next year. They have $178m dedicated to 8 players. Then they have $12m in void contracts. That gets them to $190m. I know they can restructure and carrying cap over but they nonetheless are going to be in a tough position moving forward. I honestly could see them trading either Teller or Bitonio next year. Too much money dedicated to guards with a team that is has so much wrapped up in a QB. Also, our offense will be shifting as well.
  4. That makes me wonder how the Steelyard Commons Walmart manages to survive? It's often been joked about as being the worst Walmart in America.

Do you know of any democrats that are voting republican in the Ohio primary? I know of some people who have done that in the past because they think it’s the best way to keep the craziest republicans from office. I believe this is the only chance Dolan has. Also, in the latest poll DeWine only had 40% with his two opponents having 26% and 20% respectively so it would help ensure that he would win as well.

Yeah Mandel is the Democrats best chance of winning. He grates on me more than the other crazy Republicans like Gibbons and he does so by a good margin which says a lot. He reminds me of an arrogant, rich frat boy and I think lots of people including Republicans get that vibe. He is extremely unlikable for many. I will also say Tim Ryan is running a great campaign. Not talking about Republicans or Trump. Just focusing on the buzzwords for the blue collar middle class which are "jobs" and "China."
  7. I could be wrong but it’s like DeWine has shifted further right recently and I think that is because he is having to to keep his party happy. I feel like he fought his entire party during COVID now he is having to play nice to keep the election. This is why I feel like in this gerrymandering instance he keeps going along with it.

100% agree with the reform. The chance that Mandel may represent a state where over 60% despise him shows the inherent flaws in our system.

Mandel's ads literally are SNL sketches. Like how can he actually be the GOP candidate? Interesting that now Dolan is number 2 in the polls after being number 5 for so long.
  10. That drawing has a vibe of something from the 1960s. Honestly, I feel like the HOF keeps putting out tons of ideas and then underdelivering.
  11. Cool new business in Cleveland that should be successful based on the guy behind it. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2022/04/progressives-former-top-marketing-executive-behind-many-flo-baker-mayfield-and-aflac-duck-ads-starts-his-own-collective.html
  12. To be clear, I know there is retail and is right next to an uninspired food lot but 29.4k is pretty tiny for what was going to be a hub. Church and State has 20k. The old plan was going to have 84k of retail, along with a hotel and felt way more like a destination than this.
  13. That's fair. I liked the overall aesthetic of the last one better, along with the height and the main public space. I felt like the last public space was a beautiful area with restaurants and retail around. This one just feels like an outdoor food court that has little retail around.
  14. All in all underwhelming compared to what was going to be there.
  15. Yeah not buying this one. Especially with the census showing how much the estimates undercounted urban counties. Yes, COVID definitely affected things but not by this much IMO. Edit: Based on what Htsguy said maybe it is believable.
  16. I don’t see what they would propose that would be TMUD worthy but perhaps I’m just not thinking big enough.
  17. Yeah I think we have to remember that it is law firms and other businesses who will be paying this for their employees or people with high income. The average middle class person is not the target here at all.
  18. I do not think defunding transit police is the answer. But rather their focus needs to be on safety and not on fares. They also should be riding at times. If we want more people to ride the transit which in turn will bring in more revenue we need them to feel safe. And for some (I know not all and I know this feeling leans white) having police around brings a sense of security.

Still at a loss of how Portman could endorse this.
  20. Thanks somehow I missed this! Good to hear!
  21. Having such a large Ukrainian population, do we know if the refuge services in Cleveland are prepared to take a large influx of immigrants if the worst case scenario happens and thousands upon thousands of Ukrainians are displaced?
  22. I interned there 8 years ago and the buildings were extremely outdated then. Glad many are getting replaced.

https://www.cleveland.com/news/2022/02/rob-portman-endorses-jane-timken-in-ohio-republican-us-senate-primary.html Hate that Portman chose Timken over Dolan. This probably ends Dolan's chances. Any idea why Portman chose an avid Trump supporter who at one moment supports Anthony Gonzalez then at the next calls on him to resign.
  24. A few notes. It's revenue was 20.4 billion and profit was 3 billion which they said would have been higher if not for the slow down in the automotive industry. At 20.4 billion CC would have been 144th on the Fortune 500 last year. Also, it beat SHW out in revenue this year (SHW had 19.67 billion) making it the largest company headquartered downtown in terms of revenue. A company like this deserves it's own name on a building ;)
  25. Can the downtown hotel Market handle a hotel in the Erieview Tower along with the Bedrock hotel, the Baker building, and the conversion that happened with the May Co building? I just am skeptical that the market could support all of this.
