  1. Covington doesn't have an intact business district? When's the last time you were in Covington? This isn't true at all.
  2. One problem with tolling though, is that Kentucky would never let it happen.
  3. LOL it has been pointed out to you many times that this is not how the VRA actually works. Plus, Ohio only has one majority minority district under the current map (District 11) and that would not be diluted under a fair map.
  4. Narrator: They were *not* in fact compelled to do any such thing.
  5. Yea, I have zero concern about this going to stadiums. Not going to happen.
  6. Because it's not just, would a third lane be convenient? It's what is the ROI and opportunity cost of spending money on this improvement? What else could that money be spent on and would it generate a larger return? And what are the negative externalities associated with widening the highway? It's more complex than just, would I personally like it?
  7. Well that's, like, your opinion man. And it's not really based on anything other than your gut. There are cities with BRT signal priority on intersections that are just as complex.
  8. There's zero reason why signal prioritization won't work at those intersections. I don't understand why that is being claimed.
  9. I think you were spot on that it's actually a three person race.
  10. Interest rates were higher as recent as the mid-2000s. We are still at historic lows, despite a fast relative rise.
  11. I hate the phrasing of this. "Extreme parking crunch." According to whom?

His entire perspective seems to be "If I don't like something then I refuse to believe other people do." lol

This is not really true, btw. We had one in 2020. The cycle is on average every 4 to 5 years. If you only consider the last 40 years, the cycle is every 8 to 9 years.
  14. People still wait in lines before shows that have GA tickets so they can get a good spot. When Olivia Rodrigo played at the Brady Center this summer people camped out the day before to get their spot. The line stretched three blocks.
  15. LOL she's the most popular artist in the world. She doesn't need publicity. If anything this hurts her reputation, because a ton of Swifties are now upset they didn't get tickets or got gouged by Ticketmaster. Also, if she orchestrated this then she is a mastermind because it has been an issue for awhile. They had the same problems with Bruce Springsteen's presale this year. I guess Taylor Swift orchestrated that too.
  16. The car lot is now a very good brewery. Definitely check it out if you're in that part of the state: https://www.oldbridgebrewing.com/
  17. I would rather live in Cleveland than Phoenix because it's a cooler city in my opinion. But I'd much rather have Phoenix weather. Heat doesn't bother me. Cold and cloudy makes me depressed.
  18. No, you're 100% right. The problem with the big redesign is that it's too late and ODOT would never go for it at this stage. The time to think big was a decade ago and sadly we missed that window. The 10 acres is a huge win, even if it isn't the most prime real estate.
  19. I see. Turnout we down in the city. It's not that Chabot got a higher percentage. I thought that's what you were saying.
  20. Sure. I think Anderson and other Eastern burbs are becoming more blue/purple. I also think Warren is heading that way. I just don't think there's any data showing Landsman did worse in the city.
  21. But 2020 was a presidential year. Apples to oranges. How did he do percentage wise? How did he do compared to 2018?
  22. Pretty sure he did not underperform in Hamilton County. Where did you get that?
  23. Drivers need to put down their effing phones. Fixed it for you. What? I've spent a lot of time in NYC, Philly, Chicago, DC, etc. including recently and I have NEVER seen this phenomenon. Well that's very weird. I don't know any 20-somethings that aren't aware of street signs. Heck, the children on my street are very aware of the names of the streets and use the street signs to navigate. I don't think this is a generational thing.
  24. Not necessarily. They were pretty clear that these are just concepts and not meant to represent the final design. Also, there is nuance. It's bad for downtown to have a large skywalk system that keeps people from engaging with street-level retail. But it is probably good for the convention hotel to connect directly to the convention center. Like most things, there are positives and negatives.
