  1. Cincinnati needs like 10 more of these. We have a beautiful skyline but the lack of these types of modern infill glass box skyscrapers is how you can easily discern that we are not growing the way Nashville or Austin is. We can preserve our history and fill in with these.
  2. Yes. But I imagine events on West 4th would bring a similar crowd.
  3. It's still $20. Not sure where $50 came from.
  4. Somebody should keep a running list of things you hate. I wouldn't have bet that murals were on the list honestly, so kudos for surprising me.
  5. I honestly think it's beautiful. Complements the OTR vibe without trying to be faux historic. Sometimes understated is good.
  6. We already have the QCC. I don't see people forgoing that to hang out at this place.
  7. Dev is right. And as long as the Rs in control of the state house have any say in the process at all, we will never get fair maps. The commission has to be truly independent.
  8. Second photo was from Friday afternoon btw
  9. Yeah the property managers I talk to say their units are 95-100% occupied.
  10. They're wrong. They linked to the source but it actually says that downtown Cincinnati is 79% renter occupied, and 21% of occupied units are owner occupied.
  11. This is simply not true. A few years ago the Woodburn business district was struggling. You could go out there on a Friday and Saturday night and be the only person in the restaurant. It was a revolving door for businesses. Now it's bustling and drawing crowds even on weeknights.
  12. I actually think the better name would just be Fountain Square. Kind of like the neighborhood around Rittenhouse Square in Philly is just called Rittenhouse Square. But I think Fountain District has a chance of catching on.
  13. The Banks is simple, easy to remember, and references the most defining characteristic of the area - the river. Fountain District is better than Backstage District for these same reasons.
  14. Who is is the "we" here? I don't know anyone saying this.
  15. And places like Middletown, Springboro, and Monroe identify with both Cincinnati and Dayton. But this is irrelevant to the MSA conversation because there is a standard definition that they use for every city.
  16. There's no such thing as Metropolitan Cleveland. You just made it up. There's the Cleveland MSA and the Akron MSA and both are part of the same CSA.
  17. Top ten Cincinnati MSA companies by revenue. Includes GE Aerospace, which was not included in Fortune 500 this year but will be included next year. Also includes private companies TQL and RelaDyne.
  18. No it's not. We have this discussion every few months it seems. Akron is a separate MSA, just like Dayton is not in the Cincinnati MSA.
  19. There's a letter going around for Cincinnati residents to sign on to show their support of Connected Communities. Link here: https://forms.gle/zMHoSooJJ8e14N5z6
  20. They're dealing with a lack of funding that has caused them to scale back their system. They got rid of 7 routes altogether in 2021. They did increase frequency on some of their most popular routes though.
  21. An added benefit of large student projects like this is that single family homes farther away from campus open up for families. We looked at houses in Clifton Heights but didn't want to be on an exclusively student street.
  22. You don't really need to run longer trains, just run them more frequently. Cut the time between trains and the crowds will spread out more.
  23. A better way to show this relationship would be to index them both to their individual 2002 ridership and show that as 100%. Then you don't have to have a dual axis, which is kind of confusing.
