Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Gotcha. But the latest proposal comes into Union Terminal, correct?

I honestly think Nan would beat him in Cincinnati too. She's very popular down here.

It'll still look cool at night. But yea, don't love the architecture.

Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion
It was really good to read that on a Monday morning. I rode from the new Northside transit center to downtown the other day and it was awesome. The arrival screens are great. The Transit app works great. Had out of town guests and they were very impressed with the smoothness and ease of the whole trip. I really hope Hamilton Avenue is one of the first BRT corridors.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I'm still a little confused. There's more room to breath and walk now that you can walk in the street. People are spread out over a larger area. But either way, I hear you. I just think that the solution here is to develop more of the Banks so we can spread the crowd out. And FWIW, it was a beautiful weekend, the Reds were at home, and people are still excited to get out and about after a year of nothing. So the crowds were probably bigger than an average weekend is going to be.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I ate dinner at Jefferson Social Friday night. It was busy but there was no wait. We grabbed DORA beers after and walked around. I'm sure it got busier later but at 9pm it was fine.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
No one goes there anymore. It's too crowded. Seems like a good problem to have.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
When you're talking about vacant buildings being rehabbed you're talking about revitalization, not gentrification. Gentrification is a very specific and negative thing but it is, for some reason, now being used to refer to any redevelopment or new development. We should get away from that. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I would be pumped to have a balcony overlooking a bar courtyard. To each their own.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
I'm not 100% sure. It's hard to tell with the way the minutes are written. Looks like the economic development committee voted to support? Here's the language: 4. Committee Reports a. Economic Development and Housing – (2) Motions 1.) Letter affirming motion to support the Willkommen 2 project as presented on May 3. (Jen Walke, Model Group.)
-
Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
In fairness to them, it does look like they had a motion to support it on their meeting minutes for May.

Not to mention you rid yourself of the maintenance bill on a duplicative and useless piece of infrastructure.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
No, I usually drive 8 miles over the limit. Some people drive slower, some drive a lot faster. I wasn't disputing Google's accuracy. Just letting you know it doesn't use the speed limit. And I usually stop twice for bathroom/lunch/gas breaks. So yeah that's about right. I will say though, one huge benefit of the train is that you can just go to sleep or zone out. I used to take trains on the Northeast Corridor daily and I always caught a few zzzz's on my way home.

Is there a link to the entire list of top 100 pairs?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Google maps actually uses real time traffic speeds based on cell phone data. So it doesn't assume you drive the speed limit, it assumes you drive the average speed that people are currently traveling. For a stretch as long as Cincy to Cleveland that is most definitely over the speed limit. It also doesn't take into account stops. I drive Cincy to Cleveland a lot and I've never done it in 3:48. It ranges between 4 and 5 depending on time of day, traffic, and number of stops along the way.

Why deal with the NoTR Community Council when you can make easy money with a parking lot with very little risk?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Agreed. But, of note, the Route 49 bus in Cincinnati connects Union Terminal to downtown. It's a 5 minute ride from the train station to the FC Cincinnati Stadium/Music Hall and a 10 minute ride to Fountain Square. It would be easy to beef up the frequency on that route or make a free circulator between Union Terminal and Fountain Square.

Cincinnati: West End: TQL Stadium
Regarding having a TQL Stadium streetcar stop, there already is one. The Washington Park stop at 14th and Elm is literally one block away. It's right next to where the March stops to rally and it is smack dab in the middle of all the supporters' bars. Just give it a name "Music Hall/TQL Stadium Station." And if you want to connect UC students to the new stadium just do the original streetcar extension route.

Cincinnati City Council Corruption
For anyone who didn't read the article, it points out that this firm routinely uses focus groups. This is nothing new or different.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
It was packed this weekend. Went out to eat and to Findlay Market Saturday. Watched the FC Cincy game at a bar on Sunday. Everywhere was packed to the gills. Felt like pre-pandemic.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I was out and about downtown on Saturday and Sunday. There must've been a big event on Saturday in 2019 because it seemed like the streetcar was packed to the gills this weekend. Every one I saw was full of people.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Western & Southern Headquarters
I'm not denying any of that. My point was that if you live in a social environment then the isolation of WFH is not really that big a deal. Because you're getting those outlets easily elsewhere. If you live in an isolated place and WFH then you have to constantly go out of your way to make sure you make those social contacts.
