  1. Breaking News! Hamilton County voters are the "lunatic fringe of society."
  2. Realize that this is weeks old at this point. But how rude and judgmental. I was outside from sun up to sun down as a kid and I think it is pretty cool.
  3. The question is, what would the ridership be like in the morning and at night if it were running? I would imagine the 7 to 8 am hour would do well during the week and the 10 pm to midnight slot would do well on Friday and Saturday nights.
  4. That's not a part of this development but I heard rumors it was going to be incorporated into a condo development.
  5. First renderings of the PLK proposal at Blue Rock and Hamilton and on Cherry between Hoffner and Cooper:
  6. Lol it actually looks pretty big? But Jake knows all.
  7. The plural of anecdote is not data. The fact of the matter is that the Cincinnati market has the fastest-selling homes in the entire country. The average home sits on the market for only 17 days. Obviously some are way longer, and some go under contract the day they come on the market.
  8. The problem is that Clifton isn't the only game in town for young families anymore. You can get a nice house with central air, new kitchen, new bathrooms, etc. for around the same price in College Hill and still have a walkable neighborhood. With the resurgence of College Hill, Northside, Westwood, etc. why pay the premium to be in Clifton? It makes sense if you have all the same amenities, but not if you're going to be the worst house on the block.

The money has to be spent on transportation if it comes from OKI but that is open to interpretation. Great Parks projects have been rejected for being primarily recreational.
  10. No, just a point of clarification. It's not semantic. Also not trying to be argumentative. I'm all for density. I'd like to see a development that reflects existing development in the more built up portions of the neighborhood though.
  11. Northside is a city neighborhood, not a suburb. This particular area is not urban like most of the neighborhood, but it isn't suburban either. It actually feels pretty rural right now, despite being inside the city limits.
  12. I don't know what you're reading but the Northside facebook group is usually the least angry neighborhood facebook group I've ever encountered. It's mostly missing pets, home repair advice, info about community events, etc. Other than this apartment proposal, most of the angry comments are people complaining about cars speeding through the neighborhood, which is a very legit reason to be upset.
  13. 276 units being proposed at Crawford and Spring Lawn. I love hearing that we are getting 200+ new units but I have to say I did not expect this location. A lot of people in the neighborhood Facebook group are very pissed. I'm not a fan of the design either. It's basically suburban, garden style schlock. Hopefully the neighborhood pushes them for a more appropriate design, though I don't know what that would look like at this location.
  14. Does this count as trolling or unnecessary bickering? No worries, having you endorse Hofbauer makes a better case for Charmaine than anything I say ever could.
  15. Disagreeing with her policies and providing evidence to support your disagreement is one thing. Providing zero evidence that what she said was wrong and resorting to calling her "crazy" and "unhinged" is quite another. But yes, I'm the one making stuff up to feel better. You guys are really great at projection.
  16. I guess you better just move out of Hamilton County since the majority of us here are a part of the "lunatic fringe" who recognize that systemic racism and anti-LGBTQ bias are problems in policing.
  17. A woman points out systemic issues that policing experts agree are a huge problem and presents an evidence-based plan to address them. You and Brutus: "OH GOD SHES SO UNHINGED. SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT." That, my friends, is blatant sexism on display.
  18. Brutus endorses Hofbauer. That's all everyone on here needs to know to make a decision.
  19. I would encourage everyone here to actually listen to the interview because this was NOT my takeaway. I heard a candidate that is very well-versed in evidence-based reforms and how to move the Sherriff's office forward. She put forward a legit plan to combat real issues like systemic racism and excessive force. And not only did Hofbauer not put forth any solutions, he denied that any problems even exist. According to him, everything at the Sheriff's office and at CPD are perfect and there is no need to address any issues at all. Officers always act appropriately and in the public's best interest. And while systemic racism may be a problem in other parts of the country it is NOT a problem in Cincinnati. Now THAT is a truly insane take.
  20. Congrats...? You'll be able to blackmail her because she went to a party in 1996?
  21. The mean center of population in the neighborhood is going to shift dramatically south over the next couple of decades though. All of that underutilized land south of Blue Rock is ripe for redevelopment.
  22. I must be in the minority here, because I think it's fun. I would seek these hotels out in other cities.
  23. I think they are really nice. Great opportunity to learn about the history of the neighborhood while waiting for the bus.
