Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
I know all the practical reasons, but if you have the chance bring kids into this world. They will figure all this s**t out and make nice little mirrors. ;)

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
Just hit 2.3M. The metro really needs to get back to the annual 1% growth range going forward - felt like we were gaining momentum and hit .88% this year. With all the anti-immigration policies now in place next year will be telling.

Has anyone heard any updates on the new MedPace building? Does not look like any activity and thought they were getting started Q1 this year.

Cincinnati: Potential New Arena
This seems to be timely. Cyclones' GM talks about NHL chances and need for a new arena. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2024/02/07/cincinnati-cyclones-gm-discusses-nhl-franchise.html

Mason: Lindner Family Tennis Center / Cincinnati Open
I was pleasantly surprised when I read the story yesterday morning - definitely good news! It will be interesting to see what the expansion looks like.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
Official announcement of Paris flight going back to daily (from 3x weekly) in 2024 for summer months. First time since before the pandemic it will be daily. Apparently still doing well after the London flight start in June. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2023/10/04/delta-international-flight-paris-cvg.html

Mason: Lindner Family Tennis Center / Cincinnati Open
The new owner definitely said $350M for Mason. You would think an upgrade would be 150M to maybe $200M so that high estimate, and the fact he shopped the plan to Charlotte makes me less than optimistic of it staying. I actually found one story in which the owner estimated the cost here at $375M - crazy. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2023/06/05/mason-commits-millions-western-southern-open.html

Mason: Lindner Family Tennis Center / Cincinnati Open
Hope you two are right. I go back to the owner saying that it would be $350M to improve here versus $400M to build new there. Obviously not true, but seems like another excuse for the move.

Mason: Lindner Family Tennis Center / Cincinnati Open
Just to be clear on this. The headline says it all, and unfortunately it has been his plan all along. Beemok Capital's plan to move Western & Southern still needs $25M commitment from North Carolina officials

Mason: Lindner Family Tennis Center / Cincinnati Open
I think this guy bought the tournament specifically to move it to Charlotte. Pretty sure he had previously tried to buy the Panthers. He is already setting the stage by saying improvements needed in Mason would cost $375M vs. $400M for a faciltiy from scratch, which is nonsense. Even if the money was matched here I say it is probably gone. Too bad after being a local event for a 124 years.

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
I think this latest project is completely separate from this one (originally posted 12/7) - it appears there are two projects near each other. It seems the project in the article below will be managed or owned by UC. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2022/12/07/uc-plans-100-million-project.html

Cincinnati: GE Aerospace
Feel free to move this but this seems like pretty good news. Nice to officially get anothe Fortune 500 as I do not think this was a foregone conclusion. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2023/01/20/ge-aerospace-headquarters-land-in-cincinnati.html

Hope this helps some with prices out of Cincy. Delta and American adding seats.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football Discussion
Congrats to the Bearcats! Was just checking flights to Dallas and not much avalability from here (or from the nearest airports). Plus they appear to be starting around $900. Get tickets soon or think about driving (or using an airport further away like Nashville).

^ Yes, exactly what I was referring to - in some cases it is like the loss did not occur. SEC bias is strong too.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football Discussion
My point is that it's as if they are completely ignoring a loss to a sub-500 team. Same with Minnesota. Yet a 19 point road win is somehow a strike against UC. Like I said just keep winning, but the criteria seems to shift based on need.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football Discussion
Holy crap - Oregon loses to 3-5 Stanford and is 4. Minnesota with multiple losses including Bowling Green and at 20. Fresno St in and neither SMU or Houston are (eliminating opportunities for CFP top 25 wins). Being 2 in the AP and coaches poll and 6 in CFP has to be one of the biggest discrepancies in week 1 ever. Seems the fix is in. I guess control what you can.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football Discussion
Agree they need to blow these teams out, but 31-12 over Tulane on the road is not exactly a close game. Don"t forget a team like Oklahoma only beat them 40-35 at home. It is hard to destroy teams every week.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
Cincy13 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentProlific Nashville restaurateur sets opening for first Cincinnati eatery https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2021/09/24/pearlstar-sets-opening.html Money quote: "I've been coming to Cincinnati for three or four years and I've really enjoyed all of my experiences here and all the cool people I met," Raley told me. "I love this city. It's very European. It feels like a real city, and when I come here I'm inspired. It was a natural extension of what we are doing in Nashville."

Cincinnati: Population Trends
What would that be 22,000 or so more? Based on recent trends and seeing seemingly everything new filll up or sell quickly I would say yes. It will be interesting to see where the estimates for 2021 land. Obviously not perfect but they seem to be more reliable these days and actually a little understated.

Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
Cincy13 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentCertainly not Cincinnati proper, but this festival has a nice lineup. Surprised I just heard of it recently, and this one involves camping. I have never been to the Renaissance festival - anyone familiar with these grounds? https://bellwetherfest.com/
