Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
I have stolen the links below from edale, but I suspect there is some apples and oranges comparisons going on here with the numbers Columbus and Cincinnati are reporting from their convention bureaus. I say this because Cincinnati mentions visitors while Columbus mentions day and overnight visitors. I guess it could be that the visitors are spending more per capita in Cincinnati because the other metrics are much closer in comparison. As usual the numbers get more interesting the closer you look: Columbus Visitor spend: 6.4 b Tax generated: 1.13 b Jobs supported: 75 k Cincinnati Visitor spend: 5.0 b Tax generated: 1.10 b Jobs supported: 77 k Also, here are some facts to chew on: 2016 visitors to Cincinnati: 26.1 million -- 2% growth from previous year (https://cincinnatiusa.com/tourism-counts-5-billion-industry) 2016 visitors to Cleveland: 18 million -- 2.8% growth from previous year (https://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2017/10/greater_cleveland_attracted_18.html) 2016 visitors to Columbus: 39.3 million -- 1.5% growth from previous year (https://www.experiencecolumbus.com/articles/post/columbus-visitors-spend-64-billion-in-local-economy/)

Cincinnati: General Business & Economic News
As you mentioned, Worldpay (acquired by Vantiv) will undoubtedly remain in Cincinnati and become its next F500 company: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/01/16/cincinnati-might-have-just-added-a-fortune-500.html Unfortunately, there's an outside chance that this new company could also be acquired by the nation's largest bank: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/05/14/worldpay-could-be-acquisition-target-analyst-says.html Correct - I had seen this article but was focusing on the odds of the current company remaining here. M&A activity is unpredictable and could happen at any time or not.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
This is getting tedious - I had not seen this but in convention news a new person to actually sell the city as a destination is in place. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/05/18/cincinnati-convention-bureau-names-new.html

Actually Vantiv was the buyer in this deal and had its start in Cincinnati. They just assumed the Worldpay name after the purchase. While there are no guarantees the chances of the HQ staying here are relatively good.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
In all fairness I would not say PromoWest has brought in "cooler" bands since taking over Bunbury. In fact it more often has gone the other way. MEMI also did a good job with MidPoint in 2017. With that being said I would prefer PromoWest for this venue because of the design and the fact that they would be new to the market.

Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
Cincy13 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentThis was a great event, especially for year one. It is nice to have this after Promowest has "transformed" Bunbury. The park and city looked great, and I can say first hand that I met multiple people from NY, Chicago, St. Louis etc. who were quite impressed. The National were pretty happy to be playing at home so that was fun (they have sounded better but they definitely had energy), and of course the other acts were great. Father John Misty played a pretty standard set, but as always sounded awesome. Definitely hope this one comes back.

Cincinnati/NKY International Airport
Late to the game here - I must have had a different email address so I get a new screen name after 13 or so years. I think the article is somewhat lazy. The numbers are indeed passengers enplaned, but they are giving the number enplaned for 2016 which is confusing. In 2017 that number was 3.9 M (which then projects to the 7.8 million for total passengers for that year). You are correct that at the current rate the airport is tracking to 8.8 million for 2018.
