I went down to BrewDog last night for all you can eat wings.. and the group i was with was shocked by the scope of the apartments going up right next door. They really are an impressive addition on that piece of land.. It was beautiful to see. Lets build more!

So alot of the attendance to indians games are from locals.. a football game brings in 1,000's of out of towners that spend the weekend here, fill up hotels, eat at restaurants, drink at our bars and visit the tourist stuff. Alot of Indians fans, drive in and drive out.. I know cause i am one of them. I dont pregame or postgame. just in and out for the game. I dont even pay for parking most of the time. I think we gotta look at all the ancillary football does for the city too.. Stats like this are disingenuous.

I do not think Downtown would be hurt at all honestly. I have a life goal to watch our sports teams play in every city. I am currently working my way through MLB with 17 out 30 cites visited. When i travel i always stay downtown and commute to the stadiums, either by public transit or through rideshare. I am sure thats exactly what would happen here.

but its not 8 days a year.. Its whole weekends that people will book these hotels. I dont have any numbers either but i do alot of work downtown. Just this past year for the 49ers game, There were thousands of people here for the weekend. I drove alot of them around. It was crazy with the amount of money they would spend. I think its disingenuous to make the 8 days argument, when most home football games are a huge out of town draw for us. I do not see the same thing with the NBA and MLB, sure there are some but football is a huge event in every city for every game. I have traveled the country to watch our teams play, when i go i go for multiple days in each city. Thats what were are looking for her.
