  1. Don't know if this belongs here, but thought it was kinda funny...I bought a case over Thanksgiving weekend to bring back with me :-D Searching for Great Lakes ale? Keep looking Posted by Scott Stephens November 29, 2007 09:48AM Categories: Food news There's no problem finding chestnuts to roast on the open fire this holiday season. 4. Any updates on the renovation of this building? I stumbled across what appears to be the website for the Gospel Press apartments (Tremont Place Lofts): http://www.tremontplacelofts.com/floorplans.htm I assume the images on this page are just stock images? http://www.tremontplacelofts.com/apartments.htm

  7. I also worked for a bank at the corporate level in Cleveland, and MayDay sums up my thoughts exactly. It really wasn't an awful place to work, but it seemed like everybody wanted to have meetings for the sole purpose of having meetings. I'm not really sure how anything was ever accomplished.
  8. I'm confused, is that correct? I could be wrong, but it sounds like they are calling Stonebridge Plaza phase 5 and the cantina building phase 6.
  9. Here in Charleston, we had a Cereality open in July/August-ish by the college campus, and it unfortunately has already closed down earlier this month. I was excited about the concept, so hopefully the Cereal Central does better
  10. That would be the Chagrin River Walk by Vintage (Marous): http://www.chagrinriverwalk.com/ Zaremba Group had also planned Newell Creek Town Center in Mentor, but it sounds like that is going to be a no-go : http://www.zarembagroup.com/shopping_newell.html Regardless, I can't imagine anything unique going into any of these "lifestyle centers". I certainly hope that none of these have any type of impact on the warehouse district.
  11. Thanks for posting that. There's some good looking stuff there. Am definitely curious about: World Restaurant: Talented restaurateur Ricardo Sandoval (Fat Cats, Lava Lounge, Halite) is partnering with Raj Singh to transform the Wine Room on Lee Rd. into a sleek lounge and restaurant. A Michelin-star chef will prepare French-Vietnamese-style foods with a global reach. According to Sandoval, one side of the space will be "loungy," the other a 65-seat dining room. 2317 Lee Rd. November. I'm curious about this too. It seems like a strange connection. Has Raj Singh done anything else besides Spy Bar?
  12. I wasn't really sure where this article should go... Key could bolt May Co. location A move by the banking giant may trigger the Public Square structure’s transformation RELATED LINKS KeyCorp By STAN BULLARD 4:30 am, September 10, 2007 In a move with massive implications for Public Square’s future, KeyCorp is conducting a search for alternative locations for its 1,000-employee operations and technology center housed in the former May Co. building in downtown Cleveland. While observers expect the building’s owner, a group led by New York real estate investor David Warner, to fight to keep the prized tenant in half of the otherwise empty former department store, Key’s exit could clear the way for an aggressive renovation of the 1 million-square-foot structure on Public Square. 13. This sounds pretty cool. I love the Liberty Bridge in Greenville.
  14. Oooh, ok, thanks. Now I remember reading about District Park on UO, but did not even catch that on the map. You guys have some good eyes!
  15. Sorry if this has been answered, but is that residential north of Lakeside? Is that district park that you guys mentioned?
  16. When I was living in Stonebridge, I never really thought of Constantino's as a grocery store. I thought of it more as a high end convenience store. I would grocery shop at Dave's, but regularly buy prepared food/beer/wine/etc from Constantino's. If I needed just an item or 2 I would run over there. Had there been a Heinen's, I still would have gone to Constantino's for the same reason. My friend that lives in Bingham is the same way. It seemed that everytime I was over there, there was a steady flow of people between Bingham and Constantino's.
  17. Cleveland Braces For Census' Latest Poverty Rankings 9:30 pm EDT August 26, 2007 NEWSNET5 CLEVELAND -- Almost hidden within the city that last year ranked as the nation's most impoverished is a village of 1,400 people, where incomes of $100,000 or more are common and homes are occasionally placed on the market for millions. The three mile-long, half mile-wide Bratenahl is incorporated, with its own mayor and police force. So, it's demographic data aren't included in the Census Bureau's poverty rankings for big cities, which for two of the past three years, including last year, pegged Cleveland as number one nationally in poverty rankings among large cities... http://www.newsnet5.com/news/13979598/detail.html?rss=nn5&psp=news

  19. Nice to see that they wrote about it in the PD...but as one of the comments on cleveland.com mentioned, this is not "the first -- and, to date, only -- of several planned large-scale, for-sale housing developments to break ground near downtown Cleveland" (Stonebridge) A bird? 20. Just say no to Cleveland panhandlers Thursday, August 16, 2007 Patrick O'Donnell Plain Dealer Reporter Say no and walk away. If a panhandler holds out his hand for help, walk on by. 23. Cleveland bar owner tapes police warning Thursday, July 26, 2007 Jesse Tinsley and Gabriel Baird Plain Dealer Reporters In a secretly recorded video, a Cleveland police sergeant threatened to unleash the city's wrath on a downtown bar owner in an expletive-laced tirade, calling the night club's patrons pigeons and rats. 24. It does seem like Spy Bar has been attracting a much rougher crowd in the past couple years, a la Moda. This is not the first time there has been a shooting outside that place.
  25. this map goes with this story: http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/wide/index.ssf?gordonsquaremap.html Energizing Detroit-Shoreway Sunday, June 24, 2007 Steven Litt Plain Dealer Architecture Critic Matthew Wiederhold, economic development director of the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization, had a nagging question about historic preservation on his mind.
