  1. Does this pose a risk to Sherman-Williams changing their mind About staying here? “CLEVELAND, Ohio – In an open letter, three leaders of the Black community in Cleveland have demanded that public assistance granted to the Sherwin-Williams Co. for construction of its new headquarters and research center be rescinded.” https://www.cleveland.com/business/2020/09/black-community-leaders-demand-cleveland-cuyahoga-county-and-ohio-rescind-development-aid-for-sherwin-williams-headquarters-research-center.html
  2. I beg to differ, there are plenty of Rails with trails throughout the United States. Ohio even has a handful of them. I biked one out in Rittman, OH a couple of weekends ago. The RTA greenway would be a big hit/draw for the city.
  3. Totally random and I’ll probably get more thumbs down shockingly but are there any plans to relight up the bridges?
  4. It is really sad that this happened and unfortunately I don’t think it’s over. The police and National guard etc. need to defend the city at all costs. I don’t think a lot of the Businesses will even reopen ever again. Sadly I think it’s over for Heinens downtown because heinens claims they don’t make a profit downtown they just wanted to provide for Cleveland. It will cost more to fix the place up then it’s worth. It may just be over for Cleveland’s Revitalization.
  5. Does anyone think now that so much of Cleveland is destroyed and who knows how much more damage will be done in the next couple of days that it will kill some if not all of these projects from ever happening?
  6. Killed “CLEVELAND -- When it comes to energy in Ohio, there’s always a whiff of wrongdoing in the air. And the smell can almost always be traced to the vicinity of Broad and High streets in Columbus, where various state officials have for decades cared more about serving electricity and coal interests than the citizens of Ohio.” https://www.cleveland.com/opinion/2020/05/ohio-siting-boards-poison-pill-to-kill-pioneering-lake-erie-wind-project-shows-a-state-in-thrall-to-major-energy-interests.html
  7. On top of that the Dolans don’t want to spend money to put a team together that can get over the hump and win something. They keep cutting the payroll. They are not good owners and I can see the team leaving town when the lease is up. The attendance at the ball park is terrible. I don’t know that renovations will help anything.
  8. Great news, the place looks great but I won’t hold my breath that it will get built.
  9. Does the clock light up?
  10. I’m really not sure, the last thing I remember was a failed attempt at a international heritage center.
  11. This is kinda random but with all that’s going on with SW do they have any plans to do something with the B&O station they own?
  12. A whistleblower told me those are not geotech survey holes at all, he/she said they are just searching for Jimmy Hoffa... Any idea why some are capped and others are not?
  13. Did they paint the yellow beams on the balcony level?
  14. Good to know and thanks for the reply KJP. It’s easy to doubt. Not a good comparison but Hillary was leading all polls in 2016. No i didn’t vote for her but anyways I’m ready to hear it from the houses mouth (SW)
  15. I’m starting to have my doubts about KJP’s Oct 14th article. Sorry https://www.wkyc.com/mobile/article/news/local/cleveland/report-four-cities-outside-of-ohio-are-being-seriously-considered-for-new-headquarters-of-sherwin-williams/95-765feb7c-2ebb-4f3e-beef-f4364f2b6012 “Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Charlotte are also in the running, according to a national site-selection consultant.”
  16. Great pic ^ So probably won’t be getting a Beacon sign on top of the building...?
  17. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/poor-air-service-hobbles-sherwin-williams-hq-bid?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_term=crain's cleveland business&utm_content=73638d61-cd59-4051-862f-049b16eeb33c. Mike Conway, Sherwin-Williams spokesman, wrote in an email that the private jets are available to "Sherwin associates who are connecting with customers to serve their needs."
  18. Htsguy ? My sources are saying... that was just an observation/opinion that not all CEOs live where the headquarters of their companies are.
  19. I don’t think it’s a lock that SW builds downtown because the CEO is building a house around Cleveland. They could still easily build in the suburbs. Even big shots sometimes have to drive a bit.
  20. Random but you would think they would replace the burned out bulbs on those arches...
  21. I have no proof it’s just my opinion. I shouldn’t have typed it making it sound like a fact because I can only speak for my self. Though I’m now “poison” on here I still respect you and everyone’s opinion.
  22. If someone wants to go to a restaurant or something on the street they will get to it bridge or no bridge. In cold weather knowing you can get to where you want to go while staying inside i feel is a big draw to that location. Having to take a cross walk out side doesn’t force people to stop at street level locations they will just walk past them more times then not.
  23. I really don’t see how the second bridge is really that bad if they go through with fixing up the street level. People going to the casino weather using a cross walk or a bridge are going to the casino. If plans are to go to the casino and you have to use the cross walk what makes anyone think that those people are going to make a pit stop somewhere along the street just because they were not able to use a bridge. If someone really was interested in stopping at something along the street, bridge or no bridge they will make that stop one way or another. For crappy weather I feel having inclosed walk ways would help bring people to the casino and not skip it because the weather sucks. Maybe I’m missing something but I really don’t see how this would take people off the streets other then for the couple of mins it takes to cross the street to get to the casino...
  24. I agree but don’t you think if they were staying in Cleveland the CFO would have left it at “not to panic” and not said “but we have to do due diligence when spending 1b of our shareholders money”
  25. This line right here worries me “but we have to do due diligence when spending 1b of our shareholders money” To me that says we are leaving Cleveland but the employees are welcome to stay with the company and move to where the company is going.
