  1. These are great shots! I live right next door to this project. It's so exciting to see the progress.
  2. KJP, yes that is true with the legal and financial issues. Its nice that its [hopefully] finally coming to head. Euclid Avenue is nearing completion with the May Co building, Athletic Club, Halle, JHB, and 925 being purchased by Millennia. With two new high rises coming up, Euclid feels like a real city street. I wonder if the lot between the City Club and 668 can be developed? The Union Club lot sucks too. I'm not sure which is worse, decaying buildings or flat surface lots.
  3. I'm glad that this is mentioned as a priority. That garage is completely horrendous. Is it possible to develop a smaller building on the corner flat surface parking lot to hide the blank garage facade? Maybe there could be green space and some street level retail incorporated? That garage space and the former steakhouse are horrible looking. The restaurant space needs a complete facelift or demolition.
  4. The two building sites are shown below. I'll bet that a parking deck gets added to the surface lot next to the tracks and "building one". It will also help shield the development from the noise of passing trains. Remember that, the last we heard, Wolstein was upping his floor estimate for "building two" on the parking lot next to the Waterfront Line, from 11 to 20+. But there was no news about a second building. Perhaps he's gone back to 11 stories for building two and planning a 4- to 6-story residential building for building one? Excited for "Building Two". That large lot is a huge eyesore. I hope that the cinema is constructed in there, and can replace the awful Tower City cinema. I currently venture out to Valley View from Downtown to watch movies. I'm also for the building being as tall as it can be. a 20 story complex would be amazing, but 11 seems more probable with the current 7-8 story building.
  5. It really does look similar. What ever happened to this project? I really can't stand the suburban strip mall right next to the rail and so close to Downtown. I can't believe that this hasn't been redeveloped or that it was approved in the first place.
  6. No sign of it yet The last thing that I could find was that they won approval about a year ago?
  7. I love the Link 59 development. I like the new townhouses being built as well a lot better than the suburban style ones next to the Clinic. The property across the street from One Midtown between Baker Electric and Church Square extending to Carnegie was for sale. Its a pretty large piece of property, could be more townhomes. I can't wait until Downtown has a fuller connect to University Circle. I wonder if some taller buildings can be constructed to give a fuller skyline for the city?! I also wonder if anything will ever be done about the Warner Swasey building now that its on the market again.
  8. That was the plan under previous proposals. If you search "atrium" in this thread, there are a lot of hits going back 10 years. Yeesh we've been doing this a long time. Haha, just made this account to be active in Cleveland development. I've lurked through these forums for a while as an urban planning student. Totally agree! Can't believe that this thread goes back to 2006! Crazy that some projects take so long to materialize here. I live near this building and walk past it every day. Excited to see this building, but was also curious how to fit all of these apartments? I have two friends who just moved into Bridgeview into a two floor apartment with a two floor living room. One of the bedrooms has a glass wall on the upper half that overlooks the living room. The other bedroom doesn't have a window! There is a back area of the building that the 925 wraps around providing an interior courtyard area. Also, looking at google aerial it looks as if there's a narrower courtyard between the JHB the Statler above the Statler garage entrance. I'm not sure how many floors it is? 1021 Euclid is taller than the buildings on either side, which could be beneficial for windows? I know that natural light and views aren't super important to a lot of people who live Downtown. My apartment has a utility courtyard that the inner apartments surround. One of my coworkers at my internship lives in an interior apartment surrounding a utility courtyard. This is shown in subsequent renderings by Garfield and TPH.
