It will be interesting to see how counties deal with this. In Cuyahoga, for example, I can see a lot of resistance if RE transactions become fully immutable and transparent. It will also eliminate a large slice of the pie for title companies, escrow agents, etc. Imagine one smart contract that handles everything for you! Just set the required funds as a seller and deposit as buyer and BAM everything goes into motion.
  2. Ask the same question about CPP and the Airport. The city has no business being in public markets, power, or aviation businesses, so what are they really doing there?

The only way car titles may be placed on a blockchain in a trustless manner is by 3D printing a car. Otherwise, any title may associated with any VIN arbitrarily. Now, if a manufacturing processes was created that automatically associated a consumer's private key with VIN and matched with title, that'd be a different story. Don't really see that happening though as I don't think Bernie's reach extends that far. I'm willing to bet Bernie's idea is more a distributed database idea, using IBM's Hyperledger product, which does not actually offer any increased convenience over what an existing title agency could offer.
  4. I feel like Buddish’s call to modify court system should be met with extreme skepticism given the recent FBI raids. Who benefits most?

I don't understand.... how are mileage taxes are going to be enforced? Seems a bit to big brother'y to me.
  6. Actually, this seems plausible. I was originally thinking euclid grand arcade. If 925 Building finishes makeover along with the rest of Euclid residential projects, the demographics could support these retail operations when combined with the CBD work force.
  7. ahh I was confused with Euclid Grand
  8. Excuse me what? This sounds extremely unlikely, not only by demographics but also logistically. Euclid Grand is not designed for stores that size and would need to undergo some extreme renovation.
  9. More evidence of how gov't meddling in industry leads to higher overall costs https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-16/u-s-student-debt-in-serious-delinquency-tops-166-billion?srnd=premium Additionally, the more debt that goes into delinquency, the less credit worthy younger generation becomes. With less credit worthy consumers, where does a debt based economy go?

  11. Yea, the issue with moving towards residential in the superior area is overcoming the extremely present feeling of industrialization. It just doesn't feel "homey" enough IMO. The shear scale of the avenue needs to be reduced to a more neighborhoody feeling.

How is a mileage tax supposed to be enforced? Sounds like opening the door for invasive surveillance.

Exactly. Just because it isn't certified organic, doesn't mean it isn't organic. Could just be they didn't pay for the certification. These guys making it more possible to get local stuff in CLE! http://www.evgoh.com/gcg/ Great example of worker owned cooperative as well ?

Ehhh....not sure if it's ONLY propaganda. Non-organic foods are free to use hormones and pesticides at will and who knows what kind of soil they're growing in. Organic foods are SUPPOSED to have different quality/standards. I lived amongst many of Lake Side Produce's plots for several years and will 100% buy their organic produce over all others because I watched them farm it for some time. Commercial produce can be sprayed, genetically modified, introduced to growth hormones. So the main issue for me and why I buy organic over conventional is the reduced use of pesticides and attention to soil quality. Although, I'll take local over organic any day, even if it isn't necessarily grown to organic standards. I'm cusp X/Y.
  15. ha...how the mob going to smuggle if city aint running it?
  16. Is there a long term plan to integrate this HS into the surrounding area?
  17. I don't know anything about Larkin, just responding to the rhetoric of his article - especially the points about removing control over some favorite regional assets. Sometimes I feel like Cleveland is bit too much North Korea ?
  18. Dear Mr. Larkin, please be our new mayor.
  19. I live in an old parking garage
  20. is post office plaza set to become offices?

We need a GOP mayor that will break up the corrupt city/county gov't and get the mob out of our business.
  22. The things about Cleveland, Detroit, Columbus, Pittsburgh is that they are auto oriented cities. Continuing to compare to transit oriented cities is a losing battle. A more positive lens to view the situation is which cities have successfully migrated from an auto oriented to transit oriented development. That is a much more valueable conversation.
  23. Jesus....how 'meh' can we get here
