It's a classic move by the county - I actually challenged and won a hearing about the value increase back in 2010. I assume most don't think to challenge and pay the increase. Bam! Money in the pocket.
  4. Hearing the carter road proposal has stalled due to engineering costs for securing the hillside.
  5. so that's pretty much a green light...yea?
  6. It appears Schott was upfront about plans to liquidate
  7. Some great old shots in this film vault, along with the story of Jerome Schottenstein purchasing Halle Co and shutting it down https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/news-archives/video-vault-the-closing-of-halles-in-1982 Interesting tidbit of history there
  8. Went exploring a little bit yesterday. Rode from Carter Rd + Scranton into tremont, hung on left on Fairfield, then down Jefferson to the lake link extension work. Nice view of the Ferry Cap & Screw project View from Jefferson heading towards Literary And finally the lookout point on Literary and University
  9. speaking of W 50 and detroit area, any idea what's happening with the old school lot?

how far back can we go with these pics? This is pretty awesome ^^
  12. Yes, something needs to be done for the flim festival. I cannot believe how long its been held at the crappy tower city cinema. It's way over due for an upgrade, so since tower city are dragging their feet, why not move it to the flats? Way better backdrop for parties and hangouts IMO
  13. Really exciting to see this ol girl come back to life. I never noticed before, but the windows are frosted with the May Co logo. She's a beaut!
  14. Agreed - it can be seen all the way down Prospect at 9th. No regard for glass either.
  15. SHE GONE
  16. lol...how do people post pics here? Will someone please delete that post?
  17. How do I find the presale costs? Back in the market with a budget of $300. But I anticipate these are well out of our price range... Heard through my realtor that prices are around $650k and buyer needs to customize with developer.
  18. And directly adjacent to "Thunderbird" is a newly proposed development currently in presale http://www.hortonharper.com/work/carter-road/ I'm loving the concepts for what do with the west bank and also wondering if/when the financing will be secured? I mean, before any grand ideas of parks on the bend, the hill still needs to be stabilized at around $28M of which $13M is currently allocated and another $9M in grants being sought (https://www.cleveland.com/cuyahoga-county/index.ssf/2018/04/cuyahoga_county_to_provide_land_for_proposed_irishtown_bend_park.html) And then another $50-60M on top of that for a total of $90M? Not sure how this factors in other recent developments, but sounds like a lot for CLE.
  19. I remember these concepts being discussed in Ohio City back around 2012. Whatever happened to the wendy park reno and when should this bridge be expected?
  20. I've been touring the new townhome developments around tremont, duck island and battery park and can confirm market saturation. Also, smaller units will be a nice addition because all of each I've toured are entirely way too much space, unless you're moving from an already furnished, 3-4 bdrm home. Most of the current projects appear to target empty nesters, and the market is definitely in need of a scaled down version.
  21. Is this suggesting that GLBC will be relocating brewing operations?
  22. Ummm... me, kind of. I live 500 feet from there right now and I love knowing that I can literally walk myself to the ER if need be. I assumed it would be rather noisy, glad it works for ya!
  23. what NIMBY? This site is currently a parking lot. Also, who wants to live directly across from emergency room entrance?
  24. Just heard the pavement was replaced over the weekend and new updates on site http://www.bikecleveland.org/bike-cle/news/big-changes-on-the-bridge/2018/06/
  25. Some pics from this morning, lots of terracotta work going on and continuing to load in building materials with the ol' crane https://imgur.com/a/MQKt3FH
