  1. Not to sound like a smart donkey, but the CHEAPEST townhouse here is 242K. How many of you/people can afford that? Kind of takes the middle class out of the picture real quick. Is there really the average income here to justify this? At a generous 6.75 interest (which is about to jump again) that takes the monthly payment to 1,573 a month. This does not take into consideration condo/townhouse fees, which I am sure there are. That is A LOT of money. I would love to see more 150-180K townhouses downtown. Aim more towards your starter individuals/couples. I think you have more a crowd there, and a better chance of building a community. Maybe I am missing the point of the Avenue. It Just seems like every development going in starts over 200K. Cannot build a community if only 10% of the people can afford it. Anyone know the cheapest place to buy downtown is? I know you can rent cheaper, but I am one of those people who believe renting is throwing your money away. 242K is 5 times the price I bought my house for on the West Side, and I have the same SQ FT.
  2. Yeah same here, Some circumstances out of my control made me miss the meet. I was looking forward to learning more about the city in which I just moved too. Ah well, always next year. Is anyone going to post pics of the meet? Do you guys have smaller meets throughout the summer? Being a teacher, in 4 days I am going to have A LOT of time on my hands.
  3. It was just a facade, but still neat looking either way. I would say about 100 yards behind that trolley was were they walled the subway system at. The trolley was also next to an entrance on what is now below Massimo Da Milanoon on W25, there are still doors and stairs there to get to the restaurant. Some of the subway was underwater (The stairs that led underneath the tracks) Does anyone know why? I asked someone but they gave me a weird answer to another questions. I was just curious. In all I thought it was a great tour, everyone there was more than helpful and knowledgeable. I thought there were a lot more people there than I expected. I look forward to the labor day tour. Good pics btw...

They came by twice last year. A bad swarm in mid-June and for some reason they came back in early September. Seemed like they were here longer, but it was just two different swarms. Had something to do with the weather last year. At least that is what I heard. Just a little info on the little buggers:
  5. I'll be there...
  6. I am a more of a lurker on the site, is it ok to go on the walking part of the tour/meet?
