Cleveland Metroparks: The Emerald Necklace
Here's a photo of the tallest known tree in Cuyahoga County that resides somewhere within the Cleveland Metroparks in a secret location for its own protection. I didn't discover this tuliptree but I measured it last year to a height of 162' . Its one of only thirteen known 160' plus trees in the entire state. Six are in Summit County Metroparks , one is in Mohican State Park, and the other five are in the Hocking Hill / Zaleski region where the tallest tops out at just over 170". Its the only "niche" of inside information I have to offer in this forum.

Cleveland Metroparks: The Emerald Necklace
I agree! The wildlife don't know the difference whether its public or private land. Its still a continuous green space even though its not entirely accessible to all. in some ways its more protected in terms of wear and tear. There should be some kind of path or bike lane near the road linking the parks.

One of the crown jewels of the emerald necklace with many old gnarly trees: https://www.oldgrowthforest.net/a-b-williams-memorial-woods---north-ch

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
One thing I don't like are the security fences build around certain companies like Pierre's Ice Cream (and Sherwin Williams research facility along the river). I understand the need for it but it makes for a very uninviting place for any pedestrian who happens to walk by.

Any plans to build up Cedar Rd? That stretch has been neglected for far too long since the last time I've been there which was a long time ago.

Lets just hope Euclid Ave. doesn't take on the characteristics of a giant strip mall. The last thing this town needs is another Golden Gate. At the very least the tavern property helps break up the monotony of the asphalt jungle.

I received the same thing. AI has a way of anticipating our needs and desires long before we even realize them. A sign of things to come.

I would have preferred a ranch house style building east of the street given the historic nature of the location. I'm glad they put the parking lot west of the street however. At least they got the wood right.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
The industrial parade of the long cargo container ships meandering along the bends of the Cuyahoga river is the city's most unique feature. To have a meal there along its banks where you can almost reach out and touch the ships is quite a treat! No other city has that to my knowledge. Geography plays a big role in shaping and defining a city, everything else is more of less just a commodity that you can find in most other cities. Obviously things like the Westside Market and the Arcade are man-made assets that would be difficult to reproduce elswhere, but those are few and far between.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
It will be interesting to see if the modernization facelift of Rocket Mortgage Field house reverts back to the original Q in a couple of decades when it takes on more of a historic character.

I didn't realize there was public access to the back of this building.

Can't help but notice the shiny new facade on the right as well. I know its off topic but this photo really shows how impressive that glass wall really is.

The ones on the lakes shore are quite nice. The wealthy owners don't give a hoot about city land use and are willing to pay top dollar to keep their homes just as they are.

the most depressing photos are Millionaire row mansion homes that were destroyed on Euclid. It would have been a major tourist attraction for the city on par with the Newport mansion of Rhode Island such as the Breakers and others. Thank goodness those were saved and is well worth a visit! https://www.newportmansions.org/

If I'm not mistaken they tore down some derelict building on that site. To say that they haven't done anything on that property is simply not true.

I agree with you and I hope the lawsuit succeeds. That parcel could have been used for special outdoor events, concerts, antique car show, etc. in the manner of Stan Hywet Hall @ Gardens. I don't think anyone is against CF moving to Midtown just not at that specific location.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
It gives the building a kind of Superman comic book look. Perhaps a subtle nod to its creators.

I wonder if they still plan to put the retro signage on top.

Sure fills a big hole that was there not too long ago.

Would like to see a giant flame coming out of the one in question during special occasions.

Wait till you see the glitz and glamour of the city lights of Playhouse Square reflected upon these walls at night! It will have a multiplier affect that will only enhance the experience of stardom. A glass tower at this location was a wise choice.
