  1. Signs are posted for the two parking lots on the Rockefeller lot (small lot on W6 and larger westward lot in between Superior and Frankfort) to be permanently closed on March 17th. Unless there is going to be an indefinite St. Paddy’s day celebration starting, it looks like we have some movement. FTR, I’m happy with either.
  2. As a resident in Cedar-Fairmount and frequent visitor of and commuter through University Circle, I do not think I have ever felt a greater sense of Cleveland optimism and progress then I did when I was traveling into the circle on 105th then up Cedar. KJPs pictures capture this view but traversing it in person is inspiring. Between the new buildings on 105th, the cranes nearby and in distance, the towering residential over yonder, development site at cedar and stokes, ascent at top of the hill and just knowing of the many new and current developments in Little Italy…it was all very exciting. We have our troubles in this city but props to all the public officials and private stakeholders that have contributed to the progress we see today.
  3. I know the clearing won’t last long but seeing this land finally shaping up really makes me appreciate the opportunity that these developments and the flats present.
  4. Couple of dusk shots from the Cedar side tonight (west bound curb lane open again). Overhang lighting looks great and can be seen throughout the neighborhood with the leaves down. Rest of the exterior property is pretty much wrapped up and really looking nice. Now time to fill retail and see nighttown open again!
  5. A large tent was assembled on the lot today. Presumably for an imminent groundbreaking?
  6. Pretty great views! I believe it was taken from the 8th or 9th floor.
  7. I've heard from one of the businesses that it is suppose to last until October but they are trying to get it extended until December. No doubt the weather and snow plows might keep that October deadline.
  8. @WhatUpHere's a few views from up the hill (and up the garage) to compensate. I've been meaning to post for a couple days so thanks for giving me a good opportunity. The one crane that has been inactive (AFAIK) is a bit hard to see as it is right in front of the sun. I wish the Garfield Monument had their upper balcony open right now for the views, but it is still closed due to Covid even though lower levels are open. Edit: You can see slightly see the progress on the apartments across Euclid Heights as well.
  9. Looks like there are jersey barriers (?) going up along the lakefront where the NFL Draft stage was. It’s all along Cleveland Cliffs side and following the line that the security fence took for the draft along the perimeter towards the stadium. My perspective made it seem like they were bigger than the trucks carrying them but I’m assuming it was just that, perspective.
  10. They've also said in a recent press release, regarding President Sands contract extension, that admissions were "up significantly" and that "CSU ranks fourth among public universities in Ohio for enrollment trending in Fall 2020". Could only assume that the new partnerships and initiatives should serve to further increase enrollment.
  11. A little more crane action
  12. Owner of Nighttown, Brendan Ring, sells restaurant and all property along the block https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2021/01/nighttown-sold-cleveland-heights-restaurant-dates-to-1965.html
  13. I believe they have topped out both cores here as the American Flag was flying on the taller. Steel work has also begun at the base of the taller
  14. Main tower pics from Monday
  15. Some progress pics on this much needed beautiful day
  16. No big infrastructure or campus redesign news but Sands said they are continuing to follow CSU 2.0 initiative. Overall just double downing on student success, enrollment and producing graduates with skills that will stay in and benefit the region.
  17. Supposedly some big, "exciting" announcements coming in tomorrow's "State of the University Address" at 11 a.m. on Cleveland State's facebook and youtube. This follows an email two days ago from President Sands, to students, regarding a Crain's article on CSU being the center of investment in the region for the post Covid-era.
  18. Prospect is one of my favorite streets between 55th and I-90. The architecture, foliage and Terminal Tower in view standing tall at the end of the road is just awesome
  19. I'm assuming naming the suburb would give away the project?
  20. Here is the progress on WXZ's development and the College Club renovation/conversion. New building has substantial street presence and stretches far back on the lot. The Howard Hanna sign also says that there are only 3 units left.
  21. TOH will be breaking ground soon. First area of fencing went up today and old Zoss building has been converted to construction office
