  1. They did a helicopter lift this morning (presumably hvac), did anyone get any photos? Kicking myself for not having my camera on me!
  2. Elevator core is creeping up at 195 E Broad (the 13 story Edwards building).
  3. Based on the site map in that article, it looks like they plan to realign the park entrance with Westerville Woods Rd and add a traffic light. Good news for traffic calming over there. Existing layout: Site map:
  4. Here’s the Peninsula from a path at Scioto Audubon. Not the best shot, but it shows how visible this area’s going to be from the south. A 30 story tower would really fit in nicely….
  5. Another couple shots of Gravity 2.0, from Scioto Audubon. You can also see the OSU hospital tower in the background.
  6. Nice view from the front of the North Market until Market Tower blocks it (not that I’m complaining about that).
  7. I love that idea. In addition to long term leasing, those little above garage units make nice short term BnB rentals as well.
  8. I’ll try to get a closer shot of Mulby Place soon. This shows how much of an impact it’ll have looking south on Cleveland, thanks to the curve in the street.
  9. Shot of the garage, I’m looking forward to the art installation. And a shot of the street wall on Belle.
  10. View of Gravity 2.0 from Broad and High.
  11. Chicago’s city motto is Urbs in Horto, Latin for City in a Garden. There’s parks everywhere.
  12. Implementing a land value tax on vacant lots would really disincentivize holding onto empty land - https://localhousingsolutions.org/housing-policy-library/land-value-taxation/ It has its drawbacks, but it’d be interesting to see it partially adopted to discourage sitting on empty lots.
  13. Portion of Spaghetti Warehouse roof collapses in downtown Columbus; no injuries reported Yikes.
  14. The street wall along Dorrian Green/Belle St is going to look pretty nice when this is all built out.
  15. At a nearly $7M asking price, whoever ends up buying the property will need to go tall to make it worthwhile.
  16. I’m curious if Westminister-Thurber residents even use this CVS. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that org has their own in-house pharmacy. Really glad to see this getting pushback from the neighbors for being too suburban.
  17. Given how much CVS is driving this whole site plan, I’d much rather Casto just develop it piecemeal until CVS either relinquishes some control or their lease expires. Perhaps they could build the 5 story apt building, and just wait to develop the rest. Or maybe we need to publicly shame CVS for holding the neighborhood hostage to poor development…. Casto at least called them out, so maybe that'll help put some pressure on them to be a better neighbor if they see that the residents don't want what they're demanding. edit - @TH3BUDDHA just beat me to it, a whale-esque protest would be perfect here.
  18. Right, because LC (with numerous projects in four states) is not a reputable developer...what a joke.
  19. I’m not going to hold my breath, but I really hope it’s as standardized as possible. If the zoning is good enough for Hilltop or Linden, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be good enough for SP or Clintonville. An arterial with a bus route deserves the same amount of density regardless of neighborhood (at least outside of downtown). A big reason the code needs overhauled is because it’s inconsistent and difficult to navigate - carving out loads of exceptions for NIMBY neighborhoods defeats that purpose.
  20. I noticed some exterior lighting on the office building: Also, there’s a Christmas tree on the counterweights of Gravity 2.0’s crane (which you can barely make out on my phone camera):
  21. Sorry for old phone quality - cladding is getting installed on the parking garage.
  22. Looking NW from Belle and Town. It's really feeling like it's filling up (and there's still a long ways to go!).
  23. More cladding and windows in on the office building.
  24. It is in that if you want one concrete structure/piece (like a floor plate or foundation), you have to pour it all in one go. If you stop partway through and resume the next day, there will be a “seam” (probably not the technical term..) between the “old” and “new” concrete, and it won’t be as strong. It’s not uncommon for the foundation pour of a tall skyscraper to start in the middle of the night and run all day long, with a small army of cement mixers feeding the site. edit- I just realized I misread temperature sensitive as time sensitive, oops…
  25. I believe they’ve started moving dirt/clearing this site in the past week or so. I’ll try to snap a pic soon. Here’s a mediocre photo of some machinery now onsite:
