  1. The Homewood Suites by Hilton at Morse and Sunbury is finished. Edit - I should say the outside is done. Per their website, they’ll start accepting reservations in March 2022.
  2. I think the only west building that’s started is the southernmost one (aside from parking garages). Looks like staging in the other west plots: View from the south looking north (I think the elevator cores on the left side are one of the west buildings):
  3. Cladding is going on the office building (the northernmost building).
  4. Part of me wants ODOT to do nothing at all. DelCo is one of the fastest growing counties in the country. There’s gonna be traffic, you can’t get around that. People need to accept that and recognize that it comes with the territory of buying a house there.
  5. You can see it from Broad and Belle peeking through North Bank/Parks Edge.
  6. To be fair, they’ll need the torches for light. With a towering 5 story monstrosity, Clintonvillians will never see the sun again. Also, very glad to hear that street front component of the Dixie building is still alive. I was worried they’d dropped it. Would be amazing to block the view of that parking lot…
  7. Sorry for low quality, I’m too excited to resist posting. With COSI reopening today, I’m thinking about all the people who will visit this summer who haven’t been to Franklinton/Scioto Peninsula in a year and a half. They’re in for quite a surprise.
  8. Snapped a couple phone pics of the tower crane this afternoon.
  9. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/03/16/columbus-crew-development-gets-new-name.html At the very end of this article, they mention drawings submitted to the city for a third stage north of the stadium include a 20-story senior housing tower along the rr tracks. Anyone have any more info about this?
  10. If you go to https://8impact.com/360/ they have more of those for other areas.
  11. It’ll be nice to have that Linden Green Belt added to the area as it continues to grow in the coming decade. Though is it just me, or did they incorrectly label Westerville Rd as Cleveland on that map?
  12. Reminds me of what George Lucas proposed in Marin County. Sadly, I think the proposal was never actually built. https://sfist.com/2015/04/17/marin_wars_george_lucas_keeps_troll/
  13. Hotel at Sunbury and Morse has topped off. Sorry for the image quality, shot on a phone at a red light.
  14. The interior tile art is a really nice touch. Especially for a garage that will have a good number of tourists.
  15. There are a few palms hardy to zone 6 with some protection, including windmill palm, dwarf palmetto, and needle palm. There’s also a banana tree (muso basjoo) that’s cold hardy enough to live outdoors in Central Ohio. So there’s still hope for some authentic tropical foliage at Buckeye Lake! 16. I really hope they light up that smokestack year round. Given how dark it is here in winter, I’d think they’d want to.
  17. That clown Decker still tried to block a vote even after a 45 min consultation with a city attorney proved otherwise. Get him out.
  18. I like the part where the board says there’s only 54 acres in the Riverside Drive corridor, then three sentences later the article mentions how they downsized the project last year.... Another great line is when the board talks about how critical office space is in this corridor. Guess how you get zero sq feet of office space from this development...
  19. Looks like you were able to practice ample social distancing on your walk...
  20. Really wish Columbus would overhaul zoning codes citywide so developments that are clearly appropriate for an area didn’t need to jump through so many hoops.
  21. Was anyone able to attend? I’m antsy for some details! edit- quote didn’t work out, I’m referring to the 2/19 HW meeting about the GE site.
  22. The crane should be erected in March, no? Anyone know if it’ll be self-climbing? I would think they wouldn’t want to stick a 300+ foot crane up at the start of construction.
  23. I’ve been happy with the designs of the recently built CML branches.
  24. That makes quite a bit of sense, thanks! I figured there was a good reason, as I’m sure renting a taller crane costs more.
