Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
4N6science replied to StuFoote's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI did a quick drive past the Peninsula today and everything looks normal and full speed ahead. I was going to post the same article, the fire was pretty far from this project.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWow, at first I was confused thinking this was the Thrive proposal. I didn't even think, that this lot was even in play. I live near by and to think that this could be built in addition to 4th and 5th will have a HUGE impact on the local area. This is really good stuff and makes me excited for the future in this neighborhood. Edit: This building design looks to be almost identical to the one built just north of Kroger on High Street. Color scheme is better IMO.

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
4N6science replied to StuFoote's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI saw a post from yesterday stating the groundbreaking for the Scioto Peninsula Project was slated for Sept 14. There's a pretty cool video on on their website showing what the new project is projected to look like. https://www.columbusddc.com/scioto-peninsula/?fbclid=IwAR2M9sEmpZyN4pUA31tUiLtrqfwyP0dkQSxIq1Kzak9isOx7xALxWHaiMWc

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm pretty sure those color choices were all made by Thrives Company and not the individuals buying the homes. Only the single family homes that run opposite on Grant had the option to pick from different color options. But I do agree the color palette is pretty boring.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis is very helpful, thank you for sharing these. The other thing I might be looking for is the deal Thrive (Wagenbrenner) has with the City of Columbus to redevelop the site that now houses the Grant Park project. Is that something that I can look up on the city council site? Does such a formal agreement actually exist between the city and Thrive (Wagenbrenner)? Thank you for any insight.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSo I'm a bit curious about learning more on the process for the development of Grant Park in Weinland Park by Thrive (formally known as Wagenbrenner Development). Is there a place on the City of Columbus site that I can read up on the details for planning of this project? Or is my research limited to what I can find on this site or columbusunderground.com regarding the project?

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm very excited this project has begun to move forward. This will be a great addition to that intersection. Now I want to know how long Del Baggio will last on that other side?

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI totally agree with your color palette comment. I walk by almost daily and I think to myself, "A bunch of guys totally picked these colors." I'm assuming that they picked a few color options and bought bulk and that is why we see the bland boring palette over there. Someone seriously loves gray and blue! From what I see, construction continues on all the houses and apartments. I feel that there is a subset of Columbus who are not really affected by the coronavirus and are still going about their regular business. Hell, I just saw a for sale sign pop up on my street.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
4N6science replied to JohnOSU99's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI think the town homes start in the 300s. I live in the neighborhood and I think those with children send their kids to private school if they stay or move to a different school district. The price increase over the past three years has been crazy.

Columbus: Downtown: Discovery District / Warehouse District / CSCC / CCAD Developments and News
4N6science replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI was saying to myself, that guy looks familiar, haha. I wouldn't mind a Jimi Hendrix mural next to the German Village Music Haus.

4N6science replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI actually think this a pretty good design, it reminds me of 80's on the common but with some brick incorporated. I also like the mural, the city can definitely use more of those.

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
4N6science replied to StuFoote's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionHuge news, I love it! I can't believe this was dropped on a Friday afternoon like this. Is the Veteran's Memorial parking lot going to be apart of this overall redevelopment? I sure hope so, buildings and a parking deck would be best for that area, IMO.

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
Nope, that is not me on Columbus Underground but thank you for pointing me to that comment.

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
As we all know a cemetery is located beneath the North Market parking lot. Would I be safe to assume that the timeline recently set forth for construction of the new tower will include the excavation and proper removal of the remains beneath? I only hear mention of the cemetery but nothing about the developers having plans to address that issue publicly.

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
In my honest opinion that is not a building that adds as much impact to a growing skyline as say the new Hilton building will. Not a huge fan of the new design compared to what was first revealed. But glad this project is moving forward. I'm most excited for an expanded North Market.
