Lol, I laughed at the "the", but I mean....can you blame him? They do preface their highway numbers with "the", after all ? I go out to the LA about once a year. I've always enjoyed the Venice Beach. I'll keep the Larchmont Village and the Windsor Park in mind next time I'm out there on the 405 or the 101 when I'm looking for a new place to visit in the SoCal. Sorry....just having fun : p . If it weren't ubiquitous and commonplace to say out there, prefacing 405 and 101 would sound just as ridiculous ?
  2. I saw that library convention news yesterday. Seems like the big planning convention is already paying off. Great news just a month after the last great news on conventions! The Hilton 2.0 already paying off as well.
  3. I was in downtown Canton a couple weeks ago and saw one of these apartment buildings. I'd totally live in one. Also, the new downtown Massillon streetscaping is coming along nicely. Pictures to come in the coming weeks when I return for the holidays! Forgot to take some when I was up there for Thanksgiving.
  4. Why did they remove they remove the most basic of crosswalk markings here? This seriously pisses me.off so much. They should have the international standard here, not removing it. What the actual..... You can see the removed markings. This poor guy.
  5. Yeah.... you're right :P. But it does feel a bit disproportionate. I still consider Arena to be like..... pseudo-downtown even if it is technically. I feel like there is just *so* much potential east of High, not even including Capitol Square. Spring Street especially. So many parking lots. But still, we could do more. I want MORE MORE MORE. More.
  6. Thank you for this awesome breakdown! After reading the last page or so, the lack of downtown projects is honestly pretty baffling and depressing.
  7. Do we have a summary somewhere of everything going up in 2020+ ?
  8. This all seems like a really bizarre proposal, imo.
  9. Thank you for the tip! I'm also fairly new to using imgur, so I appreciate it. I also noticed they did some work with the trees. I think they planted new ones finally that they cut down earlier because they were dead. Didn't get to check all of them yet but .......yeah there are new trees!
  10. I got one ? I have the hardest time with images. I don't know why, but when I use the "insert other media" button and then select "insert image from URL" and then I pasted the above URL, it just flashes red and won't put it in. Anyone have a trick? I've done it this way before and it worked fine for me, though..... Edit: Solved! Thank you!
  11. As someone originally from Canton, I take issue with this and proudly declare Akron/Canton remain a thing and not Cleveland/Akron, thank you. I'm just kidding. I'm actually from Massillon. If you did Cleveland/Akron, Canton/Massillon I guess that would be alright. Canton and Massillon blob together at this point with tons of unnecessary sprawl.
  12. Woohoo! But they're still adding the sidewalks right??
  13. This brings me so much joy. I've hated that they closed this store and held it hostage so another grocer couldn't move in. I've always felt bad for all the retirees from the home who could no longer walk there. Not to mention forcing the people of Victorian Village to go to the Grandview market district. And with the retirement home building a new tower, this entire outdated plaza needs to be completely overhauled and it needs to include a proper grocery store of some sort. And CVS needs to remain an anchor tenant as well. And it ideally should be mixed use and drive up the density further. Get rid of that parking lot.
  14. Mind blown. Also, I vote we forever refer to this parcel as The Forgotten Triangle™
  15. ^^^ I super want that triangle piece next to it to get developed. Also I see some stadium-esque shapes forming!
  16. In a way I hope it's a wake up call. I feel the same way as the developers. Code and zoning is so out of whack in Columbus that I've almost thrown my hands up as well, lol.
  17. Oh good, haha. Happy to take the torch this time ? Also, can't we just, like, put this on the ballot? Let's just vote on this as a community and see if we all want to fund transit or not. Edit: typo
  18. Omg, I'm sorta embarrassed, hahaha. I couldn't help myself this time! I need to be part of the change, dammit! Lol.
  19. As much as I agree, I doubt they care about that for this particular spot. The whole block is terrible and is basically an on/off ramp for the highway.
  20. Omg. You're an American hero. Thank you for doing what I'm too afraid to do, lol.
  21. With the frequent number 5 bus route, this could have been a great transit corridor ....but here we are and there is parking and and setback and THEN the building....unless I'm mistaken. Sigh.
  22. And just as soon as it all appeared, all those construction barrels on High are gone ?
