  1. Ooohhhh very interesting. We were just talking aobu that 114 E. 5th Ave lot in the Italian Village thread. That spot has a ton of potential. I hope it's a good proposal.
  2. That is a very cool picture; I really love it for some reason. Edit: What is going to be built on the other side of the street where the dirt/mud is? Edit2: Nevermind! I used that super handy Columbus Development Map and I believe it's this, right? This actually looks awesome. I didn't know this was in the works: https://www.columbusunderground.com/fifth-and-summit-development-bw1
  3. I saw that some of the new traffic lights are FINALLY up and running in the Short North today. Not all, but some.
  4. "The Tower at Rich and Front"
  5. They truly are....what future developments do they have coming? Are they the ones working on North Market Tower?
  6. That's pretty gross. I guess better than nothing, but I hate that "better than nothing" has become my way of coping with these terrible projects, lol.
  7. Restaurants already! I'm thinking this is going up sooner rather than later. Exciting!
  8. For some more light-hearted news, the sign that I reported as being vandalized or broken by the wind storm aweek or two ago has been fully repaired and is up again! So at least they care a little bit!
  9. What's so mind boggling about this one is that it had the backing of former mayor Michael Coleman. He was the one that made this possible, so you'd think it would actually happen.
  10. Well that's pretty disappointing.....
  11. Good to know. Unfortunately, I missed yesterday's meeting but I need to get more involved in these things. Did anyone attend? How did it go? Is there a schedule online of these meetings across the city? I'd like to go to many different ones.
  12. Good luck to you! I'd love to attend but I'm not a resident of German Village....................do they frown on nonresidents of the neighborhood attending neighborhood commission meetings? lol
  13. ^^^Awesome! Not sure who deserves credit in making this, but if it was you, then THANK YOU!
  14. Wow, this is incredible. Did you make this, OP?
  15. ^^^Ah, great news! Where is it exactly? I apparently haven't been down Long in quite a while...
  16. The sign on this lot that was posted earlier has been vandalized or something.......it only has one side of it there now instead of "both" sides of the corner. I can't determine if it was intentional or not : (
  17. For that Mount Carmel redevelopment.....I just want to be sure I'm understanding.....they're not tearing down what's there now, are they?
  18. That's what is going on Long Street? Very disappointing. Whatever happened to that big 15 story project from some Miami-based developer? Wasn't that supposed to be on Long? This one: https://www.columbusunderground.com/commission-hears-from-neighbors-of-proposed-15-story-building-bw1 Edit: Apparently Rich and 4th, not Long. .......still wondering what happened to it, though. Also, from a post on this just last page.....what's going on with this project below?? Isn't this going on Long Street as well somewhere? Can't find the an article, just this picture posted by cityscapes (user here)
  19. This is seriously some disappointing crap. What a terrible commission. Sometimes you just have to power through the NIMBYs.
  20. I just can't get over the allergy to height in this city. It's *mind boggling*. This is my feeling after seeing that High/N Broadway project in Clintonville. I'm not too sure why this one was reduced. Just ***why***
  21. That would be amazing. Could you imagine the headlines *nationally* if we became the first city to have a free public transit agency in the country?
  22. Thanks for posting this. Sometimes I feel discouraged that not enough is happening, or that everything is "half-assed" .....and I forget to step back and view the positive stuff. Your post is sobering for me. Living here, all I do is focus on what could be done-- or could have been done better--that I forget a lot of the good stuff is going on. Also, I've seen a lot of your posts here and I was surprised to hear it had been 7 years since you were last in Columbus! Not sure where you live now but I'm glad you were able to visit!
  23. That Flytown stuff is fascinating. I had no idea. I've always seen and read that sign by Goodale Park but this explains it so much better. Would have loved more of it to have been preserved. It seems significant to Columbus' history and we just wiped it away : (
