  1. I just went through Old North Columbus yesterday for the first time in a while. I actually am temporarily living outside of Columbus so it's probably been a year almost since I have. I was going North on HIgh and man......once you go under the arch out of Old North, it looks pretty gross. Clintonville is kinda gross, lol. It was pretty instant, too. Like it all of the sudden because a typical suburban commercial road. Edit: This isn't meant to bring the focus to Clintonville, but I basically had to make a choice on which thread to post this in, lol. It was just something that really stood out to me over the weekend. I really am liking the new stuff in Old North.
  2. Has anyone seen or discussed this yet? This is crazy! I don't think it'll ever be built, though: https://www.6sqft.com/roosevelt-island-mandragore-carbon-sink-tower-rescubika/
  3. Rough time to be opening, but I've been looking forward to this.
  4. ^^^^ Wow, I like this a lot. AND LOL. That stupid house.
  5. "The residents support development, they insist, and they don't like what's there now. But they also don't want a monolith that, as one resident put it, "you can hit with a paper airplane from my kids' sandbox." Omg this quote hurt me. No one tell him about the house that's next to his house. Being able to throw a paper airplane from a sandbox to the building next door is kinda Grandview's thing.
  6. Can't believe I'm just now coming into this thread for the first time. I'm a KSU alum as well, and holy crap, everything seems so different! I went there from 2006-2010 and even continued living there in downtown Kent until 2013. In just 7 years, everything seems so different. I really need to go back there and check out all the changes. Edit: Where is that KSU Design and Innovation Hub located? Did that replace Van Deusen Hall?
  7. This one still hurts deep. I hope they decide to rebuild. There's no real reason not to, especially if insurance covered this.
  8. I used to work in that white building! I miss commuting to RiverSouth each day on my bike using the trail ? Now I'm working from home, out of town, until the pandemic is over if it ever will be : (
  9. That street with the tables in it should permanently be like that. Make it a pedestrian only street. AFAIK, there isn't anything like that in Bridge Park, is there? Still seems to make room for cars at every turn. Overall it looks nice, though. Get rid of the skywalks and it'd be even better!
  10. Great...........some things never change, I guess.
  11. Oh no! Where'd you go? We need you here!! lol
  12. Ugh. I just want to know what they're going to try to do with this. I hope they rebuild it ?
  13. When we say "stalled", what exactly does that mean? Why would it stall? It looks almost done. It wouldn't be abandoned, would it?
  14. Agree with all the positive stories breaking today that we really needed it. This board has been somewhat dead recently and I stopped coming here (sorta) just to clear mental space for my Covid concerns, among other things. Glad I chose today to stop on by. Feel like there's a lot to catch up on despite not much news overall from the past few months.
  15. Wow, definitely didn't expect this! How incredibly exciting and I really like it, screen and all.
  16. ^^^Lookin' good! I like that first shot you took.
  17. Zyrokai replied to ColDayMan's post in a topic in Mass Transit
This LinkUs is everything I've wanted....I think. I need to look more into it but I hope something actually comes of it. I really worry that the pandemic is going to hurt the future of transit but perhaps I'm wrong. This is exciting though!!!
  18. Wow. This AND the Sandusky Theater collapse? These storms wrecked havoc on historical theaters in Ohio.
  19. I LOVE the "Denver" project! It looks great to me!
