  1. Hey, let's not forget about the fire truck that was caught in the cross fire in the middle of the night a few days ago.....luckily the only casualty was the fire engine...from what I understand, the two groups of people that were having the beef, jumped into their cars and shot at each other as they were headed down the street. The firefighters were busy fighting a fire, but had to take cover as the cars were going by....the fire engine stopped a few rounds.
  2. Payment on RTA, to me, has been bass ackwards for a long time. I think they should do the turnstile system like NY or Chicago. I remember one time exiting the WFL at E9th, and there was a person asking to see tickets as you exited at the top of the station...I almost threw mine away before I got to the exit..that seems like the dumbest way to check on fares I have ever seen!
  3. Do you think it would be a street level line or elevated? It would great to see a subway, but that will never happen. (too bad)

^ ^ I am fairly sure the trolleys DO have cameras on them...I hope this freakin animal gets caught and punished to the fullest! What happened to the days of when you had a problem, you beat the shit outta one another with fists and it was over? Not that that is good...but come on already with the knives and guns!

Don't be so sure everyone is going to flee....I AM a city employee, I have no plans on leaving anytime soon, and I know PLENTY of others that feel the same. A lot of people grew up in certain areas of the city (ie West Park) and they plan to stay. Also, don't think that those that would like to leave are going to seel a $200,000 house for $150,000 just to get out. If it does stand up in court, I don't think it will have the doomsday effect that some fear. I KNOW some of you ou there will disagree and will state your opinions..and that is fine. I guess I wish they could have come up with some sort of agreement, like 10 year requirement, then let you choose. That way there will always be an influx of people, but yet let you make a choice at one point. Like I stated earlier, I plan on staying no matter what...but I WOULD like the choice to keep and maybe live in the family home I grew up in someday.

I wonder how cities WITHOUT residency restrictions have been able to survive?

I am curious as to see what happens in two weeks....thats's when the law goes into affect. I wonder if the city leaders from around the state have come together for one appeal, or if each city is going to file. This should be interesting.
  8. I agree....bikes or foot patrol would be nice...it just gives people a sense of protection and makes a better connection with the community. There is another CPD cadet class going to start soon, and before they hire them, all the laid off guys will get their jobs back...hopefully they will have enough officers to do something like this.
  9. KJP....it makes you wonder why such an A-HOLE is walking the streets! Bizbiz...how does that stack up to this time last year? Also...I hope with many of the new residential project happening and planned for the downtown area, making it a denser residential area...I hope CPD would think about puting some police on foot patrol in these areas.

Those were great pictures of Cleveland! I just wasn't sure when they replaced the red line with the "G" line? LOL I about spit my milk out when I saw the "I see black people" pic..that was classic!
  12. From Columbus...go North until you smell it...then go West until you step in it! Ann Arbor is a whore!
  13. Thank you O scary one! (that pic you have exudes fear!)
  14. You know what..I goofed! The picture I was referring to is right here on UrbanOhio....it is under the Cleveland Skyline pictures....8th row down, 5th picture from the left......I think it has to be one of the coolest pictures of Cleveland I have seen.....makes the city look like a megalopolis!
  15. Thanks for the info!!!! I will keep looking over my shoulder for MayDay....at least you other two live far enough away that I can have a false sense of security! I hope to come up with a post to show the side of the city I work on. I would either like to post a series of short vidoes or pics of when our fire truck responds to calls on the East side. It might be interesting...who knows?
  16. Wow! Not only did you know how many...but WHERE as well. Good info...where did you find that? Thanks
  17. Maybe MBNA and Progressive can get together and build a Cleveland super tower instead of sprawling around the burbs!
  18. Problem solved...that was my fault! Next question...I have no idea how to A) post pictures (don't know what photobucket is) and B) put a picture from clevelandskyscrapers.com as my avtar Thanks!
  19. why do some people have thier location, and others don't (like me)?
  20. Not that it will make any difference....but I sent a few hate (e)mails to Nike AND OSU for those freakin fugly ass jerseys! What happend to pride and tradition!?!?! What's next...maybe Penn St will put some stupid lion type thing on their helmets...or maybe Meeechigan will put that cute furry little creature of a mascot on their helmet? Sheesh....what the hell is going on here!?!?!
  21. From what it seems, Cincy is definitely rougher than Columbus, and Cleveland is as well when it comes to homicides at least. Do any of you have the up to date numbers this year for homicides for the big three C's? I just am curious since both Cincy and Cleveland are smaller than Columbus when it comes to population.
  22. Does anyone know what the current number of homicides in the city of cleveland is so far this year? Hard to find that info it seems.....
  23. That thing is a mini "cow catcher".....if you look at some of the old school trolleys and trains...you will see what the real ones look like...but the were much larger. Those trolleys are pretty cool, but I have to agree, they should do a better job to distinguish between the two lines either with color or better signage.
  24. I don't know...other than the obvious attractions like the Casinos, I think it is a pretty bad place. I spent many summers there as a kid..and my Grandparents lived there until a few years ago.....it's a pretty rough place.
  25. Inkaelin....to answer your question...yes, that is a skate park..from what I understand, money was donated by the "Gravity Games" when they were in Cleveland last to build the park. It's pretty cool and it gets a decent amount of use.
