  1. Big news for St. Bernard - Up to 200 units of new apartments and townhouses in the works for the business district. Taken from the St. Bernard newsletter: The St. Bernard Community Improvement Corporation recently signed a pre-development agreement for a joint venture with Regnum Capital Partners and Civitas Development Corporation for a $32,000,000 mixed-use development at the current St. Bernard Square Shopping Center that will include up to 200 residential units consisting of townhouses, an apartment building, walkups, and 5,000 square feet of retail space. This project also includes the capital advisory expertise of Stacksource Inc. and the local architect/engineer/planning firm GBBN, who has extensive experience in mixed-use projects. There will be various community engagement opportunities through this process, and we encourage you to get involved. 2. I heard they have no plans to do the other tower. Maybe they'll change their mind now that the Blonde is currently 100% leased.
  3. It's not. The owners of the glass building sold the historic ones to Pure Romance.
  4. More than 1,000 full-time jobs coming to southwest Ohio Source: https://www.fox19.com/2021/01/25/more-than-full-time-jobs-coming-southwest-ohio/
  5. Not sure if mentioned somewhere, but Sudsy Malone's is coming down next week. Apparently they saved a piece of the old sign and it'll be making its way to MOTR.
  6. Heard through the grapevine that the first tenants will start moving in this weekend.
  7. ^ Seems like Gano Street and Luth Lyons Lane would be ideal for this as well, since you already have bars/restaurants on multiple sides, House of Adam ready to be redeveloped, and lights already strung.
  8. Construction fencing is up for this project at the NW and NE corners of Hamilton/North Bend. Excavators are on the NW side, so hopefully we'll see dirt move this week.
  9. I really wish Uptown Rental Properties would tear down their own office building and build something more substantial: https://www.google.com/maps/place/2600+Short+Vine+St,+Cincinnati,+OH+45219/@39.1308743,-84.5094325,3a,75y,96.21h,94.74t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sjlblBMHwT82Nwat-CqJX0g!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m5!3m4!1s0x8841b3ed2b2ef3f5:0xec552269f828eb0d!8m2!3d39.1292535!4d-84.5093034
  10. Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but they have been working on the interior demolition of the buildings at 3rd at Main to make way for a new hotel. The plan was to keep the facades, and build a new building behind them. Hope to see that start soon.
  11. Did I miss something? Other than AK Steel, which company is Cincy in danger of losing? Macy's is already reported for NY, so Cincy would drop to 7. Also, I doubt that CFC will drop completely off the list from the 400 spot.

Spring in Our Steps had an Instagram post about this project. Apparently they paved over the public cobblestone alley without a permit to create a parking pad. It sounded like they were going to take some kind of action.
  13. Ah, thanks. I saw the "Willkommen" on the sign so I thought it was up near Liberty and Republic. No wonder why I couldn't place it.
  14. ^ I should know, but I'm drawing a blank - Where is that? I'm really looking forward to the new Willkommen project buildings, especially the ones on Vine and Pleasant/Liberty.
  15. Any chance of the small lot at 12th and Vine getting built on once the new lot is open?
  16. Not to derail the current conversation, but I heard from a reliable person that the developers of the new building at Eden/Donahue/University have another big project in the works.
  17. I heard from an employee very recently that the employees moving to the Chiquita building will be there for 5-7 years. It's assumed that they plan to demolish the annex attached to the main HQ building by a breezeway. I'm not 100% positive, but I assume it's these buildings here: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1010416,-84.5053525,3a,75y,32.05h,112.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sEbQvmPjHEXUuxfGOAPPTwA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 The new building would then be built there.
  18. ^ I'm pretty sure Encore is like that as well. North American Properties seems to be heading that direction, so I wouldn't be surprised if 8th & Main is the same.
  19. Apparently 84.51 told employees last week that they are expecting to double their headcount. I wonder if they'll take the office space instead of expanding into the garage of their current building.
  20. I totally get the hesitation about St. Bernard and not being able to vote in city elections. That was my only hesitation as well. I ended up going with St. Bernard because I got a great house for 1/2 of what it would cost me in Northside, Oakley, Mt. Lookout etc. Plus, as was sort of mentioned above, St. Bernard has great city services (although budget issues have ended some as well). My trash is picked up twice per week, recycling one time per week, the police will monitor your alarm system for free, free dumpster drop off and pick up, there's a great community rec center, etc. I did hear a rumor that St. Bernard's brand new police/fire station was built at Vine/Mitchell in the event that St. Bernard was annexed into the city. I seriously doubt that will happen though. Elmwood Place has been trying to get annexed by St. Bernard, but St. Bernard doesn't want them. Perhaps we'll see Elmwood get annexed by Cincinnati in the future.
  21. It's definitely on the upswing. I've lived in St.Bernard for 3 years now and have watched the housing prices appreciate considerably. It just really needs an up(per) scale restaurant or bar to really put it on the map, because most people have no idea where St. Bernard is. The Wiedemann brewery is great and I love going there, but it isn't "hip" enough to really be a huge draw. Taft Brewpourium is, but it's in SPV and too far from our business district.
  22. 84.51 (Dunnhumby) has several floors underground as well.
  23. Sorry- I should have clarified. I believe there's a mix of micro, studio, 1 bed, and 2 beds ranging from 440 to 1,300 SF respectively (from what I've been told) The 790 SF is the average when taking the mix into account.
  24. Essentially no parking is being provided. 125 units at an average of 790 SF per unit.
  25. EXCLUSIVE: GE Aviation moving ‘several hundred jobs’ to the Banks Source: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2019/02/20/exclusive-ge-aviation-moving-several-hundred-jobs.html Who knew, Tide does dry cleaning. Now it's expanding the business Source: https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/20/business/tide-cleaners-laundry-service/index.html
