  1. I've often thought the same on restaurants staying open. Even a limited menu of dessert/coffee/drinks I've thought would be ideal. That being said, from my anecdotal experience, BIN 216 is usually not very busy after shows (albeit only open to 11, I believe.) Regardless, this may help settle my long term bet with my friend that Mitchell's should open a small scale shop in the former Dynamite location.
  2. What I learned most from KJP’s latest is that the “trans” in NEOtransblog stands for “transformation” and not what I assumed (transportation)…
  3. Walking by this week, I was a little disappointed that the way the pavilion is integrated on the square it seemingly blocks off the new Fahrenheit from view. Unless you are essentially standing on the north side of the sidewalk near the Old Stone Church or on Frankfort, you probably wouldn't even know it was there. I know it isn't SHW's concern, but a different footprint could have opened up the restaurant to really be a part of the Square, which would have been nice.
  4. I like this proposal too, but as someone that has worked in the justice center previously, I would expect pushback on the campus like structure. Personally, I think it could work (and add more life to the street activity) but I expect those with influence would prefer, at the least, connected buildings. Although I don't know if the article addresses how this proposal divides the functions (I do not have access to Crain's anymore (my library card needs updating).)
  5. Love that cleveland dot com puts an article about a public project that is seeking public input (which they chose to title, "Cleveland wants feedback...") behind a paywall....
  6. A couple quickies from the other night at Nautica
  7. Seeking any input and recommendations on a fitness tracking watch. I use it primarily for running, but also cycling and swimming. I was utilizing an Apple Watch Series 3 over the last few years, which has now stopped working. I liked the Apple Watch as an everyday watch, and thought it was a couple ticks above “serviceable” for fitness. I mostly use Strava, with also the polar heart rate apps. I am hoping to find something that passes as an everyday watch (and won’t look out of place in a professional setting) but is perhaps a better fitness watch. I have heard good things about Garmin but really don’t know where to start. Any info is appreciated!
  8. I did not know when I woke up this morning I would be judging Perth, Australia's waterfront...but here we are.
  9. I don’t have too high of hopes for a significant Rhodes remodel, especially anytime soon, when CSU just included the current iteration in its new logo? https://www.clevescene.com/news/cleveland-state-university-unveils-new-fine-logo-penn-state-esque-branding-41249539
  10. Again, not surprised the Hall of Fame village project won credits, but certainly not excited about it (but still happy Valor Acres missed out!)
  11. Low quality stoplight picture from the other night. But first time seeing it in person since this core has started rising, and was pleasantly surprised with its size and presence.
  12. A friend of mine who has lived and worked in Los Angeles for the last decade tells me (only partly in jest) the only place with worse traffic is his hometown, Strongsville.
  13. Very close. I heard they were looking at Avon.
  14. I certainly agree it should not, and with the issues you raised (which is my guess why it seems like the NFL isn't interested in financing it), but that's why I suggested it would, as this may be its only hope.
  15. I feel like this tax credit is the lifeline, and maybe only option, for financing the Hall of Fame Village in Canton. So I am expecting that to get the credits it seeks. Otherwise, a little extra hope from me (other than just being a suburban project) that Valor Acres doesn't get it after pulling the SHW R&D away from Cleveland.
  16. In hindsight, I certainly hope the building facing Public Square could still become more publicly accessible/friendly, but I think that size building leaves PS as more of an inviting community engagement center. Plus, having the tower on the lot behind it, I hope helps brings life and better connectivity between West Prospect and West Superior to West Sixth, and even helps connect West Third.
  17. I notice the Crain's article mentions George and the development group really wanted the land purchased by the Metroparks on Old River Rd. As I recall, the Metroparks did not have an exact intended use, but their reasoning was simply to ensure public access to the river and noted the broader Vision for the Valley plan. Frankly, it's a location that isn't a great use for park space IMO. This is simply an aspirational idea (and I don't know the legal differences between the City and Metroparks) but a property trade between the City (the Old River Rd site) and George (his West 25th Irishtown Bend Park parcel) could be a better land use for both parcels, and be a beneficial resolution for both parties. I know the $3 million for the Old River Rd site is much more than George bought the West 25th property for, but it might make sense rather than expend thousands in legal fees - and a significant time cost in eminent domain. Plus, the deal could require George to have public access (boardwalk) on the site. Maybe this is just wishful thinking for a creative mediation...
  18. Not to stray off topic, but never has a rendering made me more wish for buried utility lines
  19. That reminds me of a suburban high school setting in a late 80s/early 90s movie
  20. Personally, I, too, feel like we already have enough greenspace. But I am pondering the idea it just seems that way because we have such poorly utilized and developed greenspace currently, it seems like too much/makes me not want more. If done right (as in, not like the Malls) then I'd be open to give it a chance.
  21. Sorry if this isn’t the right spot for this, but I’m trying to determine how outdated the skyline used by the Indians in their release is (not to discuss the name change.) It looks to me it is at least Pre-Beacon?
  22. Not to get too far off topic, but I thought Ohio's line item veto is limited to bills which appropriate/spend funds, so I'm not sure if a tax credit is eligible. If someone who is more familiar with this wants to correct or jump in here, please do. But I do roughly remember DeWine line-itemed vetoed almost 30 items in the last state budget.
  23. When is the John Boyd article going to post about this being built in Atlanta?
  24. Exciting. I had heard a rumor CSU is itching to develop the, what they call, Number 50 and 54 Parking Lots, south of Payne directly behind the Langston. That could make sense since housing is right there already, albeit off-campus housing.
