  1. The entire area was getting remediation from a EPA grant and utilities relocated last summer prior to construction starting The monies for the new building was awarded years ago. This is a consolidation of 2 facilities into 1 new building. With Trump though who knows. https://local12.com/news/local/cincinnati-kickstarts-avondale-major-uptown-redevelopment-project-transform-upgrades-city-project-construction-planners-begin-new-hot-spots-hotels-living-spaces-apartments-parks-offices-buisnesses?_gl=1*o8ycbq*_ga*bW54U2tEcXdCX0cyY0tTSmNOVG4xakpUSnZaQnNvLXZIb3J3dnJkN1NrRTFCVVREem1lRmd0algycW1mdUx5RA..
  2. The demolition grant is funded from the state and have crews working inside the building. After that we shall see the total project cost including demo is over $100 million it is not a small scale renovation. TMUD request The Terraces Birkla Investment Group applied for $8 million for the $101 million redevelopment of the former Terrace Plaza Hotel. The project will convert the building into a multifamily apartment community with ground-floor commercial spaces. The windowless base of the building, formerly a department store, will become public parking for the property and the city, according to the application. When complete, the development will produce 180 apartments, 15,000 square feet of retail space, 30,000 square feet of restaurant space and 500 indoor parking spaces
  3. The project missed out on the TMUD award funds I believe there ask was for 8 5 million.I would guess some value engineering is being planned
  4. Mayor Aftab seems to like his chances I mean the cities chances on this one.Good listen towards the end of the podcast for Sundance. https://www.wvxu.org/show/cincinnati-edition/2025-02-05/mayor-pureval-city-budget-sanctuary-cities-arena
  5. I think the single family and owner occupied multi tenant tax credit it will speed up development in dense older city neighborhoods. Instead of Cincinnati getting 30-40 historic building awards a year for apartment building rehabs. And let us be honest OTR gets the majority of these awards. I would guess Cincinnati would now get 50-75 single family historic homes awards a year. This will go a long way to helping out places like Millionaire Row in Walnut Hills.
  6. The proposed tax credit for historic single family homes and or owner occupied homes with multiple tenants is a new tax credit not under the current historic tax credit umbrella. It is capped at $30 million though under Dewine's Budget. This is not going to be a tax credit awarded to the masses.Probably a few hundred homes a year get awards. I would believe the criteria for eligibility and funding will be similar to the current historic tax credit awards but that is just a guess.
  7. How many homes in Indian Hills or other outer ring suburbs of Cincinnati fall under these categories making them eligible for funding? Owners and long-term lessees of historically designated buildings who undertake a rehabilitation project may apply for the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit. A building must be individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places; contribute to a National Register Historic District, National Park Service Certified Historic District, or Certified Local Government historic district; or be listed as a local landmark by a Certified Local Government to be eligible. What percentage of homes in Indian Hills were built before say 1960? id say 90-95% of eligible homes for funding in the metro area are in Cincinnati or the inner ring suburbs.
  8. Potentially yes a big win for the city. But I am also curious if Dewine's proposed state budget is just reallocating TMUD award money to the Historic Tax Credit awards. The TMUD state tax credit awarded is set to expire by years end.I did not see anything in the proposed state budget it was being renewed. https://development.ohio.gov/business/state-incentives/transformational-mixed-use-development-program
  9. RFQ for a 900k of building this is going to be a quite large mixed use development building. This being the largest parcel left to develop it is going to be big development hopefully just a lot more asthetically pleasing than the Bank's prior mega blocks.
  10. The governors proposed 2 year budget came out today. Some interesting things included in the proposed budget that would pertain to Ohio larger cities esp say Cincinnati? Doubling the yearly amount of tax credits the state provides for Ohio Historic Tax Credits from $60 million to $120 million. Single family historic homes are also now eligible for Historic Tax Credits up to 20% of investment. Also doubling the state tax rate on sports betting from 20% to 40%.Would allow the county to be awarded up to 40% of the total renovation cost of Paycor Stadium.$1 billion cost the state may kick in up too $400 million ect. https://businessjournaldaily.com/dewine-introduces-biennial-executive-budget-proposal/
  11. Delta and Comair exceeded over 550 daily flights at their peak.I believe Delta has around 75 daily flights today. Also had 3 terminals.

  13. Yes the entire list of awards is in the link.
  14. FC Cincinnati's West End Development phase 2 won $26 million dollar TMUD tax credit. Phase 2 includes 2 13 story towers.3 phases of development planned. Only Cincinnati project to get a award this round. https://governor.ohio.gov/media/news-and-media/ohio-mixed-use-development-projects-expected-to-spur-2-billion-in-community-investments-1-27
  15. Sundance leaderships main priority is bringing the cost of attending the festival down considerably and making their event more accessible to more people. Cincinnati offers enough amenities to interest the Hollywood folks but let's be honest this thing will likely come down to the tax breaks offered.Sundance has been losing money the past few years. That is honestly why they will be leaving Utah. https://www.causeiq.com/organizations/sundance-institute,870361394/
  16. The cost of attending the event will weigh heavily in Cincinnati's favor. As well as the Big city amenities the urban core can offer. But sure Coastal Bias may also be a element factoring into the Bid.I actually think Cincinnati will win the bid because of cost attending the event will be less than half of that of Sundance in Park City or Boulder. Utah does seem to be out of it.Boulder maybe the compromise choice though.
  17. Sundance has also been inquiring into more than 1 building in OTR about buying a building to house their new headquarters.
  18. I'll leave this here and you can decipher it as you wish too. Built in 1928 as the Masonic Temple for the Scottish Rite Freemasonry, the property included the Taft Theatre, which was named for Charles Phelps Taft, who headed the building committee. On the outside, the Cincinnati Masonic Center boasts a 21st-century neoclassical design: large limestone masonry at its base, iconic columns on the upper facade and an ornamental cap. There are very few windows − and those that punctuate the exterior are narrow and small. It's a building that's easy to miss if you're staring at the Taft Theatre's glittering marquee just west of the temple's entrance. But the inside is a different story. The Masonic Center is nearly as big as the Heritage Bank Center in square feet but nothing like the concrete arena. Its richly designed interior features ceilings with decorative plasterwork, wood and tile, intricate wall carvings, floors covered in bright red carpet, and even more columns. There's room for thousands of people. Among its many spaces, the Masonic Center includes one 820-person auditorium, another 300-person auditorium, a grand ballroom for 800 people, a chapel and a handful of large rooms that Barrett wants to outfit as future restaurants. There's also a hidden 500-person amphitheater on the roof, a library and a basement ballroom. Barrett sees the whole thing as a multi-level entertainment venue that can host concerts on one floor, dining on another, and even exercise rooms. He also wants to build a hotel on top of a new parking garage he'd develop next door. So far, it isn't clear where exactly that would be constructed and Barrett said more property would need to be acquired. (There is a surface parking lot on the corner of East Fifth Street and Broadway where a garage could go.) "That would give you another 300 rooms," he said. "We're studying that right now to see if there's a need for it."

  20. "which includes funding related to climate change mitigation and incentives for electric vehicle charging". Seems Brent Spence Bridge funding is safe. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/5100846-white-house-budget-office-guidance-ira-funds/amp/
  21. Maybe so but you can not claw back the federal grants already awarded.Money has already been disbursed. https://brentspencebridgecorridor.com/funding/
  22. The bridge got awarded 1.6 billion from the federal government past 2 years ago now. That money is in OKI hands at this point nothing Trump can do to cancel the Brent Spence bridge project at this point.Same with Western Hills Viaduct. Now nothing not already awarded may well be up s**t creek.
