  1. Would Cincinnati be in the conversation for a NBA or NHL expansion team in today's markets? Hell no.But that doesn't really matter.Cincinnati is a suitable market for either league to be in although it in the low end of both markets. What Cincinnati has is willing billionaires wanting to get a franchise into Cincinnati in a self financed arena. Can they do it? No idea but it's very possible with billionaires involved.Cincinnati has always had a defeatist attitude idk why
  2. Becoming a priority I think means a public plan happens within the year imo. Ming
  3. I mean they are basically asking for more public input.Have at it. https://www.facebook.com/100057182811057/posts/pfbid0ZeZggy2GxxAMH9UhMdQ6evhQLGvaA7L7VE1E64q5GxTxVM1dgbRWadP91F5pGn4Kl/?app=fbl
  4. Says the Convention Hotel project has a development cost of 630 million now
  5. UC has leased 100% of the first digitals futures building so yes.
  6. 1a.The banks steering committee killing the 1 viable proposed mixed use project back in 2018. 1B.Covid The Collapse of new build office towers 1C.The Banks has a new owner Crawford Hoying taking their time before developing the remaining parcels.I think I recall they have a 5-10 year timeline to finish development up.
  7. That the parcel was purchased in August with the air rights seems to be this project is moving forward at least. It is the same company that proposed the banks office tower.I just tend to doubt a office tower gets built here.Mixed use or all residential is a good bet.
  8. I don't think it was Crawford Hoying buying this parcel. The developer was named on Twitter that bought the parcel.I honestly just can not recall who the developer is.
  9. My guess is this will be the Banks planned office tower getting rezoned for a residential tower.I believe the property was sold to a developer that builds residential towers mostly near college campuses in the last year.Name of the developer escapes me though. Had do some digging 180 Walnut St now 180 Marion Spencer Way was sold this past August. 180 Marian Spencer Wy: Riverbanks Renaissance Phase I-b Owner LLC to Royal Walnut LLC; $2,550,000
  10. It's a different developer and more units proposed I believe.Schiffs was 72 units and 12 stories. This is 111 units with 8500 sq feet of commercial space.Good addition if this one comes to fruition.
  11. New development proposed from Geis for central and vine.111 units total 2 7 story building commercial space as well. Art Academy seems to be looking into to converting the streets around their campus into pedestrian access only with programming. All here from OTRCC January meeting if you want kill a hour. https://www.facebook.com/100077735353311/posts/390490550218787/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
  12. Both Lindner brothers are worth 1.5 to 2 billion apiece.Meg Whitman is worth closer to 8 billion.I won't name sources but these people are involved with the plans for FC Cincinnati in the West End on a daily basis. This ownership group has the pull to get another major league franchise into Cincinnati.Believe it or not. Will it happen? I like their chances for a NHL team in 4 to 5 years.
  13. The ownership group is very well aware Cincinnati's odds are stacked against it in any expansion scenario for the NBA or NHL.That is why the plan is too buy a current team in a struggling market and relocate it to Cincinnati. The NHL they also know is the much more likely scenario. And I disagree I think a NHL team will do well in Cincinnati.People keep on underestimating the Linders and Whitman's ambition for this area of the city. They plan to invest $3 billion plus in their long range vision of 8-10 years
  14. Most mid size cities do not have a active ownership group of 3 multi billionaires actively looking to build 20k seat brand new arenas. Not to mention filling those arenas. The group wants a little sports fiefdom in what thjer building in the West End.Did I mention they are 3 multi billionaires?
  15. It's been a good 6 months since I saw the numbers. But a NHL franchise was projected to be a profitable endeavor with a high end of $15-20 million in operating profit in the Cincinnati market. The high ceiling numbers of a average attendance of 15,500 to 16,250 per game projected. A bit above NHL league average I believe.A NBA team in Cincinnati was projected at below average league attendance by about 8-10% per game.Still a profitable franchise but a median NBA team is also worth about 30 percent more than a median NHL franchise and the gap is growing. The Cincinnati market can support 1 more pro franchise but not 2 was the consensus. And a NHL franchise is much easier to purchase and relocate.
  16. Ownership group has hired out feasabilty studies on having a NBA and or NHL franchise in a new arena.Came back the NHL is much more viable to do well in the Cincinnati metro market. The arena size was recommended to be a minimum of 20k seats with having a franchise in mind. Its a long range vision of the ownerships group but I tend to think a NHL franchise could work in this city at its price point.A NHL franchise and new Arena can be had for 1.5-2 billion.NBA franchise is probably double that cost.
  17. Any other billionaire group wanting to self fund a $600-700 million dollar 20,000 seat arena with probably $30-40 million on public infrastructure concessions in town? Anytime soon? Almost certainly not is my take. These talks are well down the road.Netherlander wants to move the Cyclone in and operate the new arena.Nederlander has the pull for getting NCAA games Heard $150-200 million in financing to put into the arena pot.FC wants to bring a NHL team to town in their long range plans. It is what is a few billionaires ambition to what they think will better their community. The Lindners Farmers and Whitmans are not bad people.Limited visionaries maybe.
  18. 417 parking spaces no mention of any commercial space but wow what a nice reuse project. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2024/01/09/linwood-leblond-factory-eyed-for-70-million-luxury-apartment-development/72119506007/
  19. January 5th city planning packet is out.Lot more visuals available on the 274 unit Linwood site industrial site to housing conversion.Looks pretty cool.
  20. Yeah it does really 2 different building attached together and built over a 50 foot elevation incline. The 2nd building the mixed use building looks to be 7 floors tall with 11k sq foot floor plates.I counted 48 apartments units and 28k square feet of various office space.
  21. This is a new project.Low in details but what I can gather a 7 story mixed use project including residential units.290 space 3 story underground parking garage.Development from a church group interesting. https://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/planning/planning-projects-and-studies/active-ongoing/proposed-zone-change-to-planned-development-at-220-william-howard-taft-in-corryville/
  22. Alabama is building a 10,000 seat venue low frills attached at deep south prices. No union workers in those parts.Cincinnati will be 20,000-22,5000 seats built to host a professional teams specs.$500 minimum probably 600-700 mil.

  24. Not a bad day for OTR projects getting funded today.17 out of the 48 the state funded seems good. https://development.ohio.gov/home/news-and-events/all-news/2023-1221-governor-dewine-announces-state-support-of-46-historic-rehabilitation-projects?fbclid=IwAR196prLqhWEncdghZgXfqDWV7GVVThPrgTbf6Qw5IganFYpsm1La4I6hpI
