Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
I actually work in northern KY. I'm from West Chester and its too long of a commute' date=' and living in NKY wasn't something I was too into. Downtown seemed a good choice and Kinsey was something I just sort of lucked into. I was looking at either Kinsey or the Emery center but I liked the 4th street area better. I may be searching for a new job soon though, working downtown would be nice.[/quote'] I live in the Emery myself. I would have liked to live in Kinsey while my condo is being completed, however Kinsey wasn't completed in time. Emery isn't bad - but you're right, 4th is a better place to be unless you want to hit the bars everynight (and who doesn't?). If you decide to start looking at a place to buy, check out some of the Urban Sites properties out. They do some amazingly creative things with inexpensive materials.

Where you went to school, what do you do?
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, skipped college and now work for a major local hospital group as a System Administrator.

Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
I know the feeling. When I signed the condo contract in May of '03, Graydon was pretty much the only choice, with the exception of one or 2 here and there. Now with dozens of projects active, it's tough to not want to change or upgrade before I'm even moved in! How did you decide on Kinsey? Do you work downtown?

I just hope they manage this project a bit better. Working with them on my current loft has been a little... difficult.- Cincinnati: John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge
Just paint it already! I'll even buy the paint.- Cincinnati: Random Development and News
I've been in there as well. Nice place. I think they are having trouble selling the lower 2 units due to the fact that they don't include parking, while the other 3 do.- Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
I walk to the game, though I imagine I'm the exception. There's actually a good amount of residential activity going on around that area now without the ballpark on Broadway. I can only imagine what would have happened had it gone there. I think I'd be less upset if The Banks were actually being built as promised. It seems like a location with a ready built neighborhood was passed up in favor for building a new neighborhood on the riverfront, which seems very very far away from ever being completed.- An introductions thread...
Shawn, that's really cool... I may have to check out that book. I suppose I never have introduced myself properly. I'm Mark, 25, and currently live in OTR (Barely) on Central Pkwy. I'm there temporarily while my loft/condo on 6th street is completed. It's the place being rehabbed next door to the CAC for those interested (I think I've posted some pictures). Last year I sold my house in Price Hill (the nicer part) where I lived for 2 years. Before that I lived for a year in Fairfield (ugh, never never again). Previous to that I lived in Green Township (West side of Cincy) for my first 19 or so years. I work in Avondale (sometimes considered Clifton, but incorrectly) as a server techie type for a local hospital... I figured people need to invest in Downtown to make it better, so rather just think about it, I bought something... Hopefully it works out and more follow.- An introductions thread...
Hi Jeff. I'm Mark, and I live in downtown Cincinnati.- Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I'm still enjoying the dirt hole where the Banks is supposed to be... here's to hoping something kicks into gear soon. Nothing like visitors coming in from out of town, going to a game, and then coming out of the ballpark and visiting a raised street grid, between amazing HOLES OF DIRT... :) Imagine the money being lost by nothing being out there...- Cincinnati: Pendleton: Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati
I'm a firm believer that it should have been placed at broadway commons. Has the banks materialized? No. Around the Commons site there would have been plenty of buildings available for use as resturants, entertainment, etc. Hell, there would be exisiting entertainment options right there on main street. What happens after a game at Great American ballpark? You walk out of the stadium, past a giant hole where a parking garage is supposed to be, over the top of an expressway, and past a bunch of office buildings that provide no entertainment options for the 30-40,000 people walking past, get in your car and drive to the burbs to eat or drink. The, coupled with the housing boom around OTR and by Broadway Commons would have provided a vibrant community indeed. I want to cry everytime I walk past that sea of parking lots. I suppose I'm biased since I live a few blocks away from what was the Broadway Commons option...- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square

Hi. I'm new. I currently live in the Emery Building in OTR, and will be moving to my new Condo on 6th street this fall (next door to the CAC). If any of you haven't checked out the new condos going in around town, you should.. There are some truely awesome spaces out there, and a bunch of new ones going in everyday... - Cincinnati: Downtown - Parker Flats
