  5. Neighbors, You may have heard the news recently that Cincinnati City Council approved a tax abatement for renovations at Goessling’s market, this is a significant contribution from the City to this project, and helps clear the path for the project to move forward. I know a large number of you have been in close contact with the City Leadership and Economic Development department, I urge you all to reach out to them and thank them for their actions and ongoing support in helping the Goessling’s develop the funding package needed for this project. Additionally, Steve and I spoke again today regarding the status of the start of construction. He expects to begin the most urgent work – the roof repairs – within the next week, weather permitting. Steve has also advised that the various permit applications for construction have been submitted to the City by Reece Campbell and that Reece has assured him that construction on the project will begin as soon as those permits are in hand. Steve also plans to have a crew at the store this week to update the info in the windows and perform general cleanup in and around the store. Keep your eyes open for activity on the building as the days progress, we’re getting much closer to an opening day for our neighborhood grocery store. As updates come in, we’ll pass them along to the community. Thanks to all of you for your ongoing support, Pete Schneider President, Clifton Town Meeting

  11. That spot would also create a good amount of parking that would make for a nice tailgate spot for football games.
  12. what about tearing down the Krogers and building it right there on WHT in between corry st euclid and jerfferson. That could still be considered "on campus" for most / all of the student population.
  13. anything under 200k usually goes quick, and a lot of time you almost have to know someone so you can find out before they go to the market(like when an older resident is getting ready to downsize).
  14. Cant use a loss on personal residence as a capital loss, so you get no tax break to sell at a loss, and you might even have to pay tax on the written off morgage if you did a short sale.
  15. or this street list http://friendsofclifton.com/default2.html
  16. Have you looked at the Gaslight area in Clifton? You would be within walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants, movie theater, cvs, the IGA and even the German Fairview elementary school

Same here, Mr and Ms will be increasing 1 extra person in the family unit this summer as well. I grew up on a culdesac and cant wait to see how our kids develop being able to use public transportation, walk to jobs, walk to the movies, walk to the library and be able to play in all the parks. One question are you going to include your baby in the census ? I relay feal like I should count it.

  20. Yep it's about having options, plus last time I drove it with traffic around cincy , Columbus, and Cleveland your looking at more like 4.5 hrs driving time, the only way i have ever got under 4 was if i was driving on a Saturday. Not to mention I would much rather watch a movie or read a book for 5hrs then sit behind a semi-truck or some SUV at 70mph for 4 hrs.
  21. Its always about the money, unless you don't have money.
  22. If you truly believe in something, it shouldn't be so hard to continue to explain why we are like other cities. The reality is we only have so many people that truly want Cincinnati to succeed, everyone else wants us to stay the same or fail because its easier for them to understand why. This is a great way to move the city into the spotlight and get / keep people in town and thinking for the future. You keep jobs bye keeping talent ... lets move up and become a real city not just a "Midwestern" city. cincy is greater then that and we can do it if we want to.

Why not just have summer school for everyone who cant pass the Sr. tests or scores less then a B, that way if you need more education to get up to snuff you can get it. if you don't you can work and support the economy, and help your applications to scholarships for college.
