^ ha! i was just typing the same thing.... so unfortunate the way the park hits dunhumby. Dunhumby spent so much money on their building and thought about how it would expand down into the parking garage if needed, how the stich connected it to the city and the views out... they would have totally designed it different had they know there was going to be a giant city park directly to their west. the Mural is not cutting it. i would rather sacrifice 20-30' of park space and get a ribbon of building that faced the park and made the thing look finished like this skinny cafe building along the edge of citygarden sculpture park in st louis:

i know its not the point of the renderings, but why is the context so off on all these views? - plum street shifted east 70' - buildings on far left side of image replaced with trees - tire discounters HQ corner building gone - 4th & race apartments replaced with the historic Textile building - 600 vine highrise gone- Cincinnati: Downtown: Convention Center / Hotel
my mom used to collect Cats Meow buildings - had a bunch of little houses and a quaint downtown. i always remember looking at them at the store when she was picking out new ones to buy and there was always this abomination in the Cincinnati/local building section... looks like it is finally accurate!- Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News

jack.c.amos replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Constructioncould argue it both ways... "not every building can be the flashy admiral with the fancy hat and shiny uniform - sometimes we just need soldiers" robert a m stern i wish the ground level had a bit more going on, but otherwise, this is an ok soldier for OTR. to the other point, this is a prominent location... maybe an admiral should have been called in- Cincinnati: East End / Linwood / California: Development and News
jack.c.amos replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Constructionthere is definitely too much going on. the crenelated/historic portion should be the tallest & most prominent. and the building needs a better base/middle/cap. i would lower the top floor height and push the portions of the top floor on either side of the tower far back - maybe add a trellis across the front, get rid of the ground level railings altogether, switch out the windows and make the top floor and insets a darker metal panel/hardi/ceramic tile and keep the main parts brick & stone. even then, i still dont care for it- Cincinnati: Random Development and News
