  1. you do have a point, we are the forest city afterall lol
  2. Just got a tour, it leaves at 3 today if anyone wants to snap a pic before she leaves! Impressive piece of equipment!
  3. Did saucy just get some venture capital money or something? Or maybe its from selling their parking lot? Sure seems like they got a cash infusion lately.
  4. My thoughts when thinking about it too, I'd definitely take a few weekdays off, not to mention free parking which definitely adds up quickly (but the fact you need to pay for parking on top of tix is some real Roller Coaster Tycoon stuff...but I digress hah)
  5. Apologies for possibly duplicating a subject, but what are people's thoughts on the Gold Pass for next year? I've been kicking it around but also figure it'll probably be a mad house every weekend (then again, what summer weekend isn't?). Seems like it has a lot of longtime season pass members up in arms, especially with the Halloweekends issue a few weeks ago.

Happy to see Yan get a ring! Wrong team, same energy.
  7. Be careful what you ask for, the county building (E9th side) turns into a solar oven when you walk by it on a hot summer day lol or the Walkie-Talkie building in London literally melting cars (I mean that's okay, but I digress..).
  8. or a parking garage ? If they follow through with the original design, I sure hope the lights above the door are more symmetrical - maybe it goes against the original building design, but street level, I think it'd look strange.
  9. not if it's blue a la Vista Tower in Chicago. lol I kid. For those unfamiliar:
  10. I had my buddy's friend from NYC in my car and he said our downtown looked like a soviet style city. He kind of sucked, but he also had a little bit of a point, sure, some brutalist beige is good, but it shouldn't be a defining skyline feature. Not sure glass is the answer either, but developers and the planning board need to add some pzazz to things when presented with such large opportunities.

This would make for a neat challenge throughout the state (setting out a route and comparing times/costs for getting to these locations): https://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/news/city-desk/article/21095017/putting-down-routes
  12. Looks like she's arrived:
  13. Kind of bike advocacy? More people on bikes=more advocates down the road? https://www.togetherwerise.org/fundraise/cuyahogakids I'll wipe this out if it doesn't gel with the guidelines...
  14. How bout a true TBT? Here's streetview from 2009
  15. And in a relatively short period of time! Especially with the post above in mind:
  16. Some early interior photos of when this project just got off the ground, This is an amazing Flickr account for renovations around town!
  17. Looking through these photos it makes sense why the renovation and restoration has taken so long:
  18. Whoa, I didn't realize they had them this far over, I just assumed they were only downtown! Awesome. I wonder if any will migrate down towards Old Brooklyn ? then again, I figure these are associated with Downtown Cleveland Partnership.

If you go to the Select Maps>Severity tab it goes into more detail/gives exact locations
  20. Thanks for the thread, I really dislike that they're taking a part of the neighborhood that actually has trees and tearing everything down (surely the new tree cover won't be near the same). There's plenty of similarly sized 'blank canvas' type lots closeby that would probably work better for something like this, this area has already been decimated by tear downs and lack of any tree cover through time, just look at the aerial screenshot above... ?
  21. No development news, hopefully more of a pre-reno pic? of the building. I think its fair to say everyone knows this building is huge, but wow, this building is yuuuuge from this angle

State Highway Patrol released a GIS-esque application of all of the crashes in the state YTD, it can be found at: https://statepatrol.ohio.gov/ostats.aspx Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else in UO, feel free to move!
  23. Look into the Burnham plan, public facilities facing a communal greenspace. Aka the malls being surrounded by civic institutions and major buildings surrounding Public Square (including his May Building). I'm no developer, but if the county were to include some type of street level retail (even shallow storefronts for security purposes), if that'd even be allowed, I don't see it being a terrible thing.
  24. I mean, they have nearly 200' of river property that isn't anything more than a fenced in walking path/courts. I always think of my old neighborhood in Pittsburgh (north side) when it comes to these types of ideas, Alcoa/Arconic had a major office on the river, and on the southside there's plenty of HQ's that also have river access. I get that it isn't a campus environment but I really think it's important to make sure the riverfront stays public. Once it's private, it will be forever, much like a HQ, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Northside Southside (notice American Eagle HQ)
  25. Talking with one of the staff members during Best of CLE party, rumor is fan voting for Biggie is low because folks want to see him inducted when the ceremony is in NYC. If you google any of the nominees Google gives you the option to vote daily on your choice of folks.
