I know I'm a broken record in saying this but I've been here probably about four years now and I've heard horror stories about Edgewater, really looking forward to this. I wonder if I90 realignment by the old power plant/E71 is still something powers that be are considering? Also, I always look to pgh as a comparison, with water trails and whatnot. I lived there a year, and they've also had a recent epiphany when it comes to their rivers- they've built trails and whatnot alongside them and have parks planned too.

Yes! I've always wondered (outside of our industrial past) why we've never activated the waterfront (and river) for that matter. Cheers to that idea finally being realized!

Perhaps these past few posts belong in an OZ thread, BUT here's a breakdown of Opportunity Zones in Cleveland: https://www.opportunitycle.com/district-index

Street renderings remind me of Battery Park/Edison, with that, I don't think those spaces are very welcoming to the public (aside from the bike path awkwardly cutting through). I think the city should aim for first story retail to at least activate the outsider pedestrian development - granted people ponying up for these might not like that....

Not long ago there was a zillow listing of one of them. It was turrrrrrible, tacky, and ugly. I'm sure you could find it in the recent sales (assuming it sold...).- Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen

Glad it doesn't seem like anyone's been hurt. I'm listening to the CFD/EMS scanner and it doesn't seem like they're panicked by any means (I'll edit this if anything changes). Granted NEO_Scan is probably everyone's best bet... 1.19PM- They're doing a headcount on site, holding off on having construction workers go in to get keys 1.20PM- Bigshot: Four large objects, one hit parking garage, assess for trapped workers, once that's completed, open euclid ave and turn the scene over. 1:26PM- All people accounted for, turning the scene over to CPD.- Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand

I don't want to drag this too far off topic, but for reference you can go to the county full map viewer and click on the Pictometry widget (highlighted in the screenshot), and you'll have access to oblique imagery spanning staggered years from 2006-2019. FWIW, there's a yearly flight, so oftentimes better imagery than what Google Aerial's can offer!- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters

Okay, maybe this is better for reddit, but figured I'd ask here first, and I'll preface it by saying I'm #1 Bills, #2 Browns, and #31 Pittsburgh and #32 Pats, BUT I'm trying to get some tickets for the Bills/Browns game Nov 10, and was curious what the scalper situation is like down at First Energy after the NFL changed their policies to digital only? Are there still traditional folks out there selling digital transferred tickets? Again, don't mean to derail conversation here, just curious! Also, until the showdown, Go Browns! As long as they win the division, it's all good (...kind of)!- Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News

It's just the end of the season on behalf of the Garden Committee and CDC, it helps give enough time to mow everything down, seed, and prepare for the winter. Fun fact, up until a few years ago (maybe more than a 'few'), very little was done to manage the nutrients in the garden - now cover crops are planted and techniques for overwintering and whatnot have changed (they've also added raised beds for fall/spring planting - mostly garlic for me which helps extend the season a bit). If you haven't been this year, last day is this Saturday! hah Edit1- didn't mean to make it sound like it was going away forever! After re-reading my comment I can see how it may have come off that way hah Edit2- I put together a map of the garden last year, it kind of gives scale to the place: https://veganbrisket.maps.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html?appid=76c95291276c4e17a2cc7b65bb1edc77- Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
If people want it to be easy to drive through, they should live in the suburbs, or outer ring neighborhoods. A vibrant and bike/ped centric neighborhood literally right across from downtown should be the ultimate goal. People concerned with traffic and tough drives should be pushing for more mobility options - increased bus routes, shuttles, scooters, whatever. As more 'outsiders' with money move into the Ohio City/D-S/Tremont's they're going to have to learn to reduce their dependence on cars - and a dense neighborhood would help with this greatly.- Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
Technically wouldn't it be easier to rework an already open floorplan than make a handful of unit designs hoping that prospective tenants will like them? Maybe this idea makes more sense with condos, but for me, I'd rather customize my space to my liking than some interior designer's dream (fwiw I'm a 30yo YP, might be a generational thing?). - Cleveland: Hough- A Neighborhood of Extremes
