The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I love these archival-type photo sets. They might not look like much to us now other than advertising bait, but in 50 years these will show how much the city, styles and people has (or hasn't) changed! Love it.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
Related, ASG stuff is going up around town, here's a few photos from yesterday. I've been wondering about investment based on major events- do y'all think the RNC, multiple national sports finals, and now the ASG have affected outside development in the city? Maybe it's a stupid question but what effects do you think these events have had on development?

Cleveland: Clark–Fulton / Stockyards: Development and News
From your perspective, @KJP (or anyone else who's lived here long enough to see the rapid transformation of some of the hot neighborhoods), did Tremont/Ohio City/D-S look like this neighborhood before things really took off? Then again, I guess Duck Island did. What do you think it would take for investment to jump across I90 and off W25 into the neighborhood(s)? I know La Villa Hispana is in the mix, but is that enough to begin a neighborhood transformation? It's entirely a personal opinion, but it doesn't strike me as a great neighborhood at the moment (very little tree cover on streets, housing stock is probably worse than Tremont(?), the central ave (Clark) is littered with strip mall development, and weird layout, etc.). I'm rambling, and in that am probably being shortsighted, but am also trying to get some perspective as to how other neighborhoods sparked and got to where they are now with this particular one in mind.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I havent been to TC in a few weeks, it's nice to see improved wayfinding in the station level (not sure how long this' been up?, maybe I never paid attention...) Sidenote, it was also nice to see the flats decked out in signage/wayfinding for the C50 events this weekend, I remember how confusing it was down there when I first moved in!

Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
They've also started taking down the jersey barriers on Huron (or at least they were yesterday when I drove by..)

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Put condos in 'em. I'll gladly create some air rights parcels in the GIS for them lol ?

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
(Inside and out) it looks really dated on the inside. I was hoping that was also part of the Q upgrade in some way. Oh yeah, this isn't a TT/Fieldhouse/TC thread lol whoops.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
I'm sure plenty of people here follow John, but I have a feeling folks that follow this topic would have some great tidbits to add!

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
When I was coming down Euclid (and meant to mention in my original comment), is that hopefully the Lumen continues the growth of population down Euclid past CSU. To think of apartments/housing sprawling down that corridor would be awesome and would provide the bike/ped/bus traffic that would make the area pop, it seems like Midtown is helping with that effort with the buzz going on down that way... PS- Didn't mean to derail the discussion off the Lumen!!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I was searching back through this topic and saw talk of a boutique hotel around January, is there any movement on that? Just thinking, it really seems like OC could support a hotel...

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
Late to this, but I ride my bike from OB into downtown for work, and for a while there, you could see the old streetcar tracks on Broadview right before W25/Pearl, looks like by 1953 this particular route was converted to a bus route (see https://www.chicagorailfan.com/clehist.html). This plan would be fantastic.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
I literally don't care I use this GIF too often, this would be amazing for the two cities, CVNP, and everyone in general. Lets do thiiiiiiiiiiiis! It's not the fastest means, but imagine a train between Akron and Cleveland on the daily, holy crap!

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
It definitely plays into the movement aspect- reminds me of like a rubix cube or something (my mind's failing me on something more creative/artistic right now haha).

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
Going to nerd out here, but it reminds me of Age of Empires or something as you phase through the eras haha, Phase 1 is Bronze age, Phase 2 Iron Age? Those look good! But don't match whatsoever

Cleveland: Brooklyn Centre / Old Brooklyn: Development and News
hmmm, when I was talking with Michael from OB Cheese a while back, I was under the impression it was going to go into the former chinese restaurant next door (4162 Pearl), but he had also mentioned a transformative restaurant coming in- this must be it! Sidenote, if you haven't been already Old Brooklyn Cheese is great and Michael, Angie and crew are some of the friendliest people out there!

Cleveland: Downtown: East 9th / Bolivar Tower
I've read through the comments, but y'all are commenting on a specific project thread. I'm sure there's other places on this forum that would merit a CIN/COL/CLE condo viability discussion. Despite it not being formally 'announced' this is still for that specific project to which @KJP said an announcement should be forthcoming relatively soon. Maybe I'm overreacting but there's like two pages of this discussion in a project specific thread.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 9th / Bolivar Tower
ummmm, so how bout that geis condo tower?? ha not to be a downer, but shouldn't this convo migrate to somewhere else? I keep checking this for updates and am (interested in what y'all are discussing) BUT disappointed that there's no updates on the tower...

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Not that they need more work, but at least the mods here pay attention to when things are going off the rails unlike Cleveland.com.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 9th / Bolivar Tower
You're missing another 60 stories ? seriously though, that'll fill a nice part of that angle from the stadium. If NuCLEus stops dragging it's feet we're bound for a really unique (and growing!) skyline (Lumen, Beacon, Hippodrome, y'all know what I'm saying lol). PS- Imagine how cool one of those field facing hotel rooms will be in the ATT Building (and or a rooftop bar ?)

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
idk if it's the addition of color, or if they made the windows wider, but this looks...better haha, it'd be nice to see some balconies or something to make it less sterile
