  1. Lol I tried embedding this but my phone isn't cooperating https://twitter.com/NickCastele/status/1122988880632909825
  2. I'm a curmudgeon with a lot of things, but with this I wish they had put a better detour together when planning this constuction (at least for the Jennings Rd. portion). Your choices are to either jump out in Steelyard by the temporary police station and get your legs moving to get through the light and not get hit by a car, or to ride around a barrier, then go up in the gravel/dirt road they put together for parking (still before the light). It's a lifesaver to have access to Jennings on the other side of the light (literally). I get that it's part of progress for the trail overall, but it's the equivalent to blocking off sidewalks downtown and forcing people to cross the street at dangerous places (and thanks to the JHB complex for putting up barriers to continue pedestrian traffic!). Bah humbug lol.
  3. Looks like a crappy office building from the 70's. Man that is ugly.

  5. Some good in the midst of the bad:
  6. Judging by the shirts I think that's slowroll, either way, cool shots!
  7. Hopefully once the FS Shuffleboard Apartments start going that'll activate more/continual investment to both fill in towards Fulton and further west. By the way what's up with all the car dealerships? I guess I've never noticed before, but just streetviewed and there's like 5 in that stretch, yesh.
  8. There's a lively debate going on the Cleveland Critical Mass page at the moment, mostly the debate about it being 'blue collar', 'iconic', and the way the metroparks "stuff projects down these people's throats". No complaints about the 12 new townhouses going in, the buildup/rebuild of Duck Island, and so on. Weird NIMBY'ism flex with that FB page, glad folks here are a bit more nuanced hah And edit: after checking twitter, reddit, and all the in-betweens, the Critical Mass Page (a cycling page mind you!) seem to be the only ones upset about removing public ROW parking. It's kind of funny that they're the only ones that feel bad for someone who doesn't want to embrace new business.
  9. Among my many gripes, Plonski doesn't even own the lot he's complaining about.
  10. FWIW, we're falling out of pace with Pittsburgh when it comes to comparisons- that lot (and most of their riverfront parking) is being developed into something [at least my old engineering firm was surveying/doing a TON of environmental on that lot for development]. Additionally, there's a bike path that goes along that part (and this goes for most of the land bordering their rivers). A bit off topic from the FEB, but at the same time, I wish the city would put more value into our river/recreation outside of the towpath, and that includes requiring a walkable boardwalk between establishments...
  11. Great framing of the Keith Building! - if we all had more time it'd be cool to get up here like weekly and take a pic from the same spot/timelapse it as it climbs. I know there's a webcam, but where's the fun in that? lol
  12. Not really development per se, but here's some power washing action at the library
  13. Do you have an adblocker going? It could be blocking that element...
  14. Saw this on the Cavs reddit lol - the reaction there is about the same as here: I was personally hoping for "Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse by Quicken Loans from Dan Gilbert of Detroit, Michigan, Brought to You by JACK." - Original post
  15. From huron
  16. As promised. Worth noting- the parking garage is starting to break upwards- those are the foundations of that towards the end of the photoset. Craneboi:
  17. I'll walk over that way at lunch today and snap some new pics ?
  18. Curious have there been any developments/rumors/anything with the Goldfish building? I haven't seen activity in this forum since 2016 on it (maybe I'm looking in the wrong place), either way I see there's three (I think) ownership groups in that block. What an eyesore, but at the same time surprised it hasn't been torn down for a surface lot lol.
  19. Awesome! Assuming we have blue skies today I'll try and get up there again, not that this needs any work! Impressed with the UO photoshop skills!!! I was coming into town from the east the other day and I know it's been discussed 100x over, but it can't be overstated what an impact this will have on our skyline/expanding the downtown footprint...not to mention if something gets built on the lots behind the theaters, that'd be nuts!
  20. Not sure if this is the right forum for this post, but despite being a much smaller city, is it time to limit where Tax Abatements are given out in Cleveland? It seems like Tremont, Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway (towards the lake) would be just fine without the current 15 year abatement, whereas it would benefit neighborhoods that are truly struggling for residents and investment. I'm no policy expert, but it seems like Philadelphia is on the right path in looking at these numbers and mapping them out- it seems like the three above mentioned neighborhoods would be glowing in an analysis hah.
  21. If you want to do some deep digging: https://arcg.is/19mW1G
  22. Nothing really new, I'll try and take pics monthly or something to keep tabs on progress.
  23. Crappy cell pic, but looks like they're close to sealing the new atrium.
  24. Update on the Q, but more so, I'm excited at the possibility of NuCLEus poking through these buildings...
