  1. An obvious one, but count Downtown Cleveland, Inc. against the move.
  2. Devolving into a parking thread, but the new system will now allow for license plate readers to be used. It'll be a much more efficient process to ticket folks. Now get the same tech over to RTA, please.
  3. GOTTA PAY FOR THAT STADIUM SOMEHOW! 🙄
  4. I used to airbnb my guest bedroom in the Lebron days and the draw of him (and NBA in general) is real. This was GSW-Cavs finals days but still I had plenty of international folks stay with me throughout the season, if they could get it going down there that'd be pretty cool. Similarly I couldn't believe the spending power of WWE fans, walking around TC everyone had some kind of merch, and not just tshirts.
  5. The rollout has been going on seemingly forever. All of the meters downtown mention that a parking change is coming and have for at least 1-2 months. I haven't paid attention to OHC but I'd assume its the same thing there. Most neighborhoods in Pittsburgh have parking passes, I could park on my side of the street but even with the pass I'd have to pay for metered across the street. There has to be a happy medium w/folks who don't have their own parking, but also I'm not going to feel bad for some dude who drives to OHC - arguably one of the best transit connected neighborhoods outside of downtown.
  6. This doesn't have a tidy home on here but:
  7. How was the ride??
  8. I think a nice compromise and what I have in mind is like our road names - we know it as Euclid Ave. but nationally it's Route 20 - seems like making sure people know they're on OTET (with some secondary signage or an extra line on signs) would be super helpful.
  9. A few months late, but I agree - at least super clearly marked that THIS IS THE OTET - I ran into issues when I did it a while back in Massillon: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/1e8c9772dd204bcfb220edccf6f0d4d8#ref-n-D0jpoH
  10. It's not chump change, but the county only put up $250M, with the state picking up $600M and ownership of the stadium. The current Bills Stadium is owned by the county - I'd say Erie County made out pretty well, NYS not so much.
  11. Meant for the OB thread, not sure what happened- that's what I get for commenting on my phone. This'll be interesting for that corner. Fun fact, the church currently has a bad case of fleas hah.
  12. Acting like Brook Park won't change after a $3B project is built on the other side of all this is shortsighted. But this is the Playhouse Square thread! So I'll leave it at that.
  13. Of course it wouldn't. But also with a massive development like the one proposed, it'd sure make a lot of sense to put in Transit Oriented Development nearby, not a bus station/parking lot. There's only so many stops on the Red Line and this lot is a huge development opportunity.
  14. STJ Transit Center is a much better option and it's already built/underutilized. Regardless of Jimmyworld - this isn't in line with future TOD goals.
  15. This is terrible and an absolutely terrible use of that transit station once the football stadium moves out there. How shortsighted.
  16. I'll chain myself to Noble Beast before this happens.
  17. The vast majority of the offer was from gate revenues
  18. I think you're vastly underestimating how much PSL's will be. I think $3-5k will be the floor. Here's what Buffalo(!) is dealing with at the moment (they haven't had folks in to purchase the cheap seats yet): https://www.facebook.com/groups/1162094064953276/?_rdr
  19. We sure could've used superman a few days ago...
  20. And of that $600M how much is infrastructure improvements or is that a separate bucket? One advantage of the site out there is it still has large scale infrastructure, but the highways/roads will obviously need completely redone.
  21. I don't think building on the bluff was ever a realistic idea. Same goes for Burke if they want a build in the next 20 years.
  22. I think you nailed it, one of the proposed buildings was 'The Bellows' an ode to steel/blast furnaces.
  23. As demonstrated in other markets, a project of this magnitude only realistically works through a public-private partnership. We have approached this as a 50-50 partnership on the stadium, excluding cost overruns, which we would cover. But this would be more than just a stadium project; it would also include a private development that when combined with the world-class dome stadium will be transformative for our region. The proposed $1.2 billion+ private investment in the stadium is unprecedented and would be the largest private per capita stadium investment ever in this country. And that does not include the approximately $1 billion privately funded phased development we are envisioning, which would also be tremendously impactful for our region. Importantly, we are not looking to tap into existing taxpayer-funded streams, which could divert resources from other pressing needs. We are instead working on innovative funding mechanisms with local, county, and state officials that would leverage the fiscal impact of the project and the unprecedented private contribution to support the public investment and generate a substantial return for Brook Park, Cuyahoga County, and the State of Ohio. -- Whatever you say Jimmy.
