And the alleyway that's now fenced off. It'd be nice if the city fined them for how long they've held up two public ROWs.

The market definitely adds a ton to CBUS, but honestly you aren't getting much of the short north without a bit of a walk (I've definitely woken up early/skipped a session to get one line coffee in the morn). Unfortunately I think it's a convention center thing to be inconvenient and keep people at the facility. Here's a map of .3 miles around each convention center - not sure if it's still the case but they used to say most people don't want to walk over .25 miles without driving. The bus drivers usually wont go if everyone doesn't walk to the front to validate passes. It's a pretty terrible experience when you're trying to get somewhere fast. If we're going to insist on proof of payment they should at least have places by the doors to validate so you don't need to walk up the aisle and back down the aisle.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
You do realize where you are, right? The SHW thread has 2034 pages of opinions and photos. Edit: Also re: roadblocks - you've got the previous landmarks commission chair Julie Trott to blame for a lot of this. Creating a building wall is inappropriate for a city! Squatters aren't great! But active property owners counter this. Giving LLC "investors" who buy properties and sit on them more power as their properties rot (while not paying taxes) is a bigger problem. Your E65 example/properties is probably riddled with "investors". Hoping the new Residents First Housing Department policies do something about this.- Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I've been at smaller conferences there while there's like 5 other events going on and you wouldn't even know it until you're in line to get coffee at their one cafe. It's an absolutely massive complex and hopefully Cleveland can match some of their multiple events at a time energy.- Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad

If they were doing their jobs, I wouldn't have to help people find their reroutes during the filming (or other reroutes) while waiting for the bus, or just casually walking around on lunch break. I've had a few different people come up to me asking where x bus is relocated to and express frustration to me, a complete stranger, about things. Seriously, the ambassador program seems so silly at this point - the contracted RTA folks conducting rider surveys were more useful (and interacted with passengers) more than them. Having been subjected to metrics and work tracking, I wonder if any dashboards or anything exist w/their interactions and what they've done as part of the program.- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Maybe some of the RTA officers riding around in SUV's should get out of them at some point to be on the trains/in the stations - not checking tickets, but idk patrolling - they have cameras if they want to be strategic. Likewise, I've never seen the 'transit ambassadors' doing anything but talking amongst each other and getting on/off the bus or train. Not sure what the point of that program is at this point.- Cleveland: Downtown: Ohio Savings Plaza Redevelopment

Cleveland commercial (city wide) only went up 6.8%, I'd imagine SV probably fell in commercial value. I'd blame this one on deferred maintenance and slumlords passing it around. It was quit claimed in 2021 as a 'gift' for $5,000, and then passed off in another 'gift' deed to CLEVELAND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT FOUNDATION, LLC a couple days later. It was condemned in (at least) 2023. Oh, and they haven't paid taxes, waste water or storm water since ~2021. This has nothing to do with reval.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion

Yep, wiping out all the buildings in that fence line. They weren't much, but it's going to be a bummer having a police station parking lot there now.- Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
