  1. I love having to use the search to find a thread lol
  2. Ha without going too far off topic they honestly had hundreds of folks (and half the cle water payroll there lol) And thanks! Honestly it's fun seeing the new places the building pops from.
  3. Just posted to the Scranton Thread, but here's this pic and a few from Cleveland Water's Open House the other day These aren't that sexy, but definitely a unique view
  4. I'm sure there wasn't money in the hostel but phew, you can rent a floor (26 people) for a cool $2,000... https://thevictorcle.com/#08e82c06-855d-442d-8f83-42b73c0f6050
  5. Crap, I've got a class until 8 that night. That's what I get for not filling out the poll. See y'all at the next one (maybe I can actually lead a bike ride next time... lol).
  6. If you check in with a lot of suburbanites online, radio or otherwise, they LOVE the idea of the BP site for all the reasons you listed about Jerry's World being received well. I love their idea that moving to Brook Park will make traffic magically disappear and frankly that's all these ppl care about (and for the sunglasses-in-truck-selfie types, avoiding fabricated "city" issues).
  7. To that point, if the stadium moves out there it's not like it'll make much of a difference to game day attendees - 30% of game attendees live in Cuyahoga County, and 15.5% live in the city, but! it'll be Jimmy's problem figuring out how to staff his Truck Stop in Brook Park.
  8. As much as I'm not a huge fan of the building (mainly due to location) I think this will be the one case where the rendering will be worse than the final build.
  9. Be very careful what you wish for, the previous Landmarks Commission shares a large part of the blame for how we got here.
  10. Stop Making Sense was on last night so, naturally...
  11. Thing is the Red Line Greenway pretty much parallels it at this point. Even though it looks dead there are still a few businesses down there too. Most notably Platform's building even though it's empty at the moment. Once you get past where this new site is, there's a bunch of businesses along the tracks and houses up the hill. I think the road is in such bad shape because it's one of the few roads that's actually covered by trees. In my experience, you usually see these conditions where there's trees overhead. Add to the fact that this is probably one of the lowest priority roads and you'll get those issues (tbh it gets better towards the businesses).
  12. Let me know when you want a bike tour :) lol
  13. Uh guys, traffic is actually going to disappear if they build in BP. It will be so much more convenient! And quick in and out! (according to supporters). God forbid you need to drive to the airport on gameday (or! make a plane after dropping off a rental car- that experience is already miserable as is).

Bumping this thread for anyone who might not know about it. There's a link to the group on the first page - I'm Jordan A. on there.
  15. They're going to have to repave the street otherwise there's going to be a lot of broken glass...Train is in roooough shape.
  16. I'd be upset too if I lost my taxpayer owned (NEORSD) parking lot across the street! lol
  17. It gets Cleveland off the hook for stadium costs, that's a huge positive. I'm assuming the state would contribute the Cleveland portion if it came down to it. The county loses no matter where it is (as long as it's in the county).
  18. Antony Bonavita, the Cavaliers’ executive vice president for venue operations, reminded Gateway’s board that the NBA franchise is fronting that $24.4 million in the hopes of reimbursement. Asked if the team could split the $845,975 with Gateway, he replied in the negative. “We’re laying out $25 million right now in hope that we’re going to get it back at some point,” Bonavita said. “We are maxed out.” lol give me a break
  19. Respectfully, I think it's pretty rich to think this corner sits vacant for that long if Geis walked away. This is a gateway to one of the hottest housing markets/areas in Cleveland, and add in the new park (and potential lowline greenway)? Going to be one of the best spots to live and if it takes that long, I'm okay waiting five years for a better design. As others have stated there's definitely the issue of funding but a developer of a high quality project would make their money back and some to pay the banks. It's too bad our developer pool is limited to a few names. Aside from funding, Frank Jackson's Landmark Commission really screwed the project over trying to pull the project back from the street, they really were the catalyst for this change.
