  1. Haslam's are about to benefit bigly from the 30 year TIF for the lakefront. But hey, if they want to move to Ashtabula County, more power to them and more public land for us.
  2. It's not full service, but Davis Bakery around the corner has great stuff IMO. Reading the reddit thread, it seems like the staff was completely blindsided: https://www.wkyc.com/article/life/food/corky-and-lennys-restaurant-deli-closed-woodmere/95-f1fdc390-5a9a-436b-b33c-07de35fc91aa
  3. Annoyingly this would have all the current politicians on it. It would turn into free campaign fodder just like our resurfacing signs - BROUGHT TO YOU BY MAYOR BIBB, COUNCIL PRESIDENT GRIFFIN, AND <insert council member here>. They'd have to redo it for the next politicians that come through.
  4. Saw @urb-a-saurus photo of post UO meetup and figure I'd share mine. One of these days I'll start biking w/the dslr and tripod again but until then here's a crappy cell phone pic (and my bike)! lol
  5. Honestly even just Buffalo - when I was without a car this summer I debated taking the train back and hanging out in blo/catching a ride, that trip was something like 9 hours (3hr train ride to Depew, and then waiting for the Toronto train that goes through Buffalo's Exchange St. Station). I know it's not easy to bake in a downtown Buffalo stop w/the way things currently are but man, it's rough. Ope- Brian already went that direction, that's what I get for posting at the top of the page/not diving in.
  6. They may be first energy poles...there's a few parts of the city that are theirs... @GREGinPARMAmight have more insight.... Fwiw, their site is showing 88% complete https://cdmsmith.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=1c448337c6f8498c92c139b073e8d60c
  7. I can't find great numbers online- is there any idea how many Cleveland-Columbus vehicle trips there are in a day/week/year? Really struggling with origin destination numbers. Bibb RT Sherrod's post and folks can't get over how much easier train travel is vs driving, go figure.
  8. was thinking this the other night on my way to the budget convo at Happy Dog. Have a concrete one mixed in with the plastic ones so that folks joyriding over them regret it real quick.
  9. The sledding/ski hill is really taking shape.

need a UO stickied post lol
  11. Yeaaaah, sounded like they were looking for at least 1000 miles of testing before acceptance (if I heard that right), that's a lot of back and forth on a one mile section haha.
  12. Not as dramatic as I was hoping (sick day and thanksgiving) but here it is on a handful of dates 11/14 11/15 11/17 11/20 12/1 12/6
  13. Pretty sure a large sum of that was land acquisition.
  14. Oops, meant to post in the gateway mega parking lot thread... ps that crane was definitely for UCC building.
  15. Love this for Cleveland, not a fan for the overarching US steel market/monopoly implications. I'm not an economist but Cliffs would be MASSIVE in the market after this (~top ten WORLD producers).

Reducing parking minimums <> 'banning parking lots'

Here's a VERY rudimentary map of community features buffered 500' and Commercial/Mixed Use Zoning: https://veganbrisket.maps.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=ccba6e9f831143f0a4ee4c73784d96c5 Obviously this isn't anything super serious, but gives a general idea of how difficult even a 500' buffer will be. Add the mile buffer and certain municipalities are out of it.

    Great point.

A supermajority wouldn't exist if we had fair and representative districts (our state is about 54%R/46%D give or take), legislators would have to legislate. But back to weed, the supermajority does not "know best" when it comes to the supermajority of voters that put Issue 2 into their hands.

Man, what is up with r's absolutely hating democracy. The rules they've proposed DO NOT reflect the people who voted nearly 60% to legalize. Michigan must love how badly the legislature is flubbing this. Can't wait for Fair Districts Ohio to finally boot these gerrymandered idiots from office.
  21. I know it had mixed reviews last time it was put out there but Goldhorn definitely has the space. That fancy room in FC was nice too, I wonder if Southern Tier would open up their downstairs... As always thanks for setting this up Brian!
  22. I think this is a big part of it. Her testimony on the Midway in front of Ohio Legislature really made me a fan.
  23. Noooo i missed this one. Oh well, there's more than a few around town still lol
  24. Going to poke at this one more time- but Spirit is substantially cheaper if you buy your tickets at the airport (precovid I got a RT to Tampa for $26). If you are a light traveler (I'm talking backpack, tops) it's great for what it is. It's the Greyhound of the skies lol.
  25. Talked to the crew today, there's a few more days of demo and then a couple/few weeks of clearing out all the debris left. Said the garage was anchored to the hotel wall and it was a PITA but for the most part it's been a standard job. I've got a set of photos brewing, I'll post all of them once it's completely down.
