“When asked about rumors that it would be Dunkin, he replied “Not Dunkin...” Does this mean we're finally getting our Tim Hortons?!? lol

The growth of the North Shore has been a slow-ish burn but it's definitely come into it's own at this point. A lot of the buildings around there took ~10 years of the stadiums being there to be built. There's still a bunch of surface lots, but they've also converted a bunch to uses that activate the area year round. It's definitely a good example of what's possible!

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
It does. I worked the polls this past election and turned around multiple people because they weren't registered to vote. Or thought they were and were likely purged. Why do you need to vote in x number of elections in order to maintain your (apparent) god given right to democracy. How is that American? Sure passport and license expire, duh, my point though, if you have a valid passport or license and don't use it in that period does that mean you should lose it often without your knowledge? Imagine showing up to the airport to travel internationally thinking your ducks are in a row, and then boom TSA tells you your passport expired because you haven't used it enough. Or you get pulled over and the cop tells you your license expired because you haven't driven enough in the past two weeks. Now do that with citizenship and voting, if you don't use your "right to vote" within some arbitrary timeframe why should you lose it? Why are you so afraid of US citizens having the right to vote? Why? Why is it up to you or some republicans to judge whether someone is more "American" (re: "active and engaged", whatever that means) than someone else? Just because someone doesn't vote doesn't mean that they aren't "active or engaged", voting doesn't determine that. Some active community activist may be jaded by politicians then out of nowhere they feel the desire to vote for one after ten years. You, nor the GOP, aren't the arbiter of their "engagement". Have you worked an election and seen how many people vote straight party line and don't actually care about what they're voting for? You act like those who vote are on some pedestal. Work an election and get back to us.

Why?! If you're registered you should stay registered. Why does it matter how often you vote? If you don't travel internationally once every 5 years should you lose your passport? If you don't drive every six months should you lose your license? See how silly these arguments are? And if we're such a freedom loving nation why do you even need to register? Why can't you register the day of the election? What are people afraid of? What's the point other than to gatekeep elections from common citizens.

Didn't the state award major tax breaks (or some incentive) for their Berea facility? I'm also not sure Cinci's practice facility is something to aspire to unless it involves public interaction. Practice Facilities/Football HQ's are usually pretty walled off and kind of a big waste of space. Not like the public is going to be allowed in during practices or anything (outside of training camp).

Cleveland Brewery / Beer / Alcohol News
lol you're something. There's 4000 breweries in NEO, they didn't make the cut. I never knew the location was there until I drove by one day and just happened to be looking that way. It also doesn't help when Saucy is also like right there and in your face. Breweries close all the time, it's not something that's Cleveland (or crime) specific. Get a new schtick.

Cleveland: Homeless News & Discussion
I've found a few others in my rides around town and near different shelters. FWIW NEOCH vans are usually there and DT Ambassadors are cleaning up these sites in the mornings. It seems like a lot more people than what was down at Irishtown Bend, there were only a few tents consistently down there in my adventures.

Cleveland Parking Discussion
St. Pete FL will forgive your first parking ticket. Thought that was great as a tourist, but then it turned out my brother's car I was borrowing already had one forgiven lol. If there's a parking meter (in any city) you should expect to pay it and expect a ticket if you don't - we had free parking downtown for 2+ years during COVID, it can't (and shouldn't) be free forever. Once we have digital meters you'll be able to reup your parking from the app, it's pretty convenient vs what we have today.

Do these broad statements ever get old? You make Cleveland sound like hell on earth on a consistent basis, and you don't even live in the county from your previous posts. Are you going to tell us about your gf never ever seeing a cop downtown, too? Oh, and as a full time worker downtown there's maybe 6 panhandlers. Yes, tents are on Superior but every city is struggling with homelessness and always has been. Maybe it's just me but it seems like you might want to stick to Lake County. I've worked in office parks in Independence and outside of Pittsburgh and they're soulless mind numbing and cultural wastelands. You need to drive to go to lunch, drive to get there, and good luck on lunch walks. You make office parks sound like Shangri-la, instead of what they actually are.

Cleveland-Akron: Bicycling Developments and News
Wtf?! That's so bizarre. I'd reach out to Bike Cleveland to see what they suggest. Any idea w/Huntington-BP? I know the city garage there has parking and same for Gateway but that's probably too far to be worth it...

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Many of the things listed need to be on the farm. Maybe the market part should be in WSM but the farm also probably doesn't want to wait around for the city to get it together.

On my phone so sorry for full quote... but that trail is a tad disorienting if you aren't familiar w the area, there's the chance you end up on 77 if you aren't paying full attention haha Also noaca has a GIS viewer I'd imagine it's a little more updated.

I was planning on it but totally forgot lol ope. That line you drew is mainline RR, I've ridden it before and although the siding is large enough in most places there's better cheaper alternatives, also safety wise you're kind of out there. There's a lot of non-mainline (but still kind of active) rails that hook into this ML. There's some abandoned rail in the general area though that would make for some neat path, you can ride it but you'll be walking a bunch right now lol. E79 is my go-to when I'm over in that neck of the woods, it's quiet and wide enough in most spots that you aren't going to cause an issue bonus points it goes all the way from the lake to Slavic Village/Morgana Run Trail. 93rd is a speedway and I don't think there's much saving that road even with bike lanes- If I have to I'll take it heading north because it's downhill, but if I'm headed south, I'll hop off around Harris/Bessemer/that area and figure it out from there. 116th also has bike lanes and 131 isn't too bad either. There are actually quite a few bike lanes in SV and the surrounding area - Harvard serves as a really nice E-W route, same goes for Miles.

Eds and Meds are what propelled PGH to a diversified economy and that pivot's gotten them a lot of attention nationally. Hopefully this transition continues.
