  1. (sorry to derail...) but I just want bike lanes lol back on topic, thanks for the insight as always.
  2. I'm pretty sure this was supposed to be a BBQ place, at least that's what the word was at last year's Farmers Market. I could also be off in location. Sixth City also had some glass that looked kicked when I was in there last week - seems like some punk kids had a weekend of it.
  3. You mean...it's topped out lol where's the xmas tree??
  4. Old Brooklyn greenspace gets community input as neighborhood eyes redevelopment Previously a community garden, a public elementary school, and a church, the property at 4103 Memphis Ave. has a long history of public use dating back to the early 1900s. For the last six years, Anthony Nunes Insana (together with his winery Vino Veritas) has been a sub-lessee of this property. The sublease is with the Cuyahoga County Land Bank, but the city of Cleveland has owned the property since 2005 and can change its agreement with the county and any sublessees, says newly elected Ward 13 Council Member Kris Harsh. Despite objections from Insana, the city is moving forward in determining a new, public use for the property and is asking Old Brooklyn residents to weigh in. https://thelandcle.org/stories/old-brooklyn-greenspace-gets-community-input-as-neighborhood-eyes-redevelopment/ Personally, I've never heard a good thing about Insana and their business dealings. Glad that the City and Land Bank are looking to move on. I haven't been to one of these meetings about the site, but curious where it goes.
  5. New Jail News, Executive Chris Ronayne proposing to build new Cuyahoga County jail in Garfield Heights: https://www.cleveland.com/news/2023/06/executive-chris-ronayne-proposing-to-build-new-cuyahoga-county-jail-in-garfield-heights.html
  6. You'd already get drug tested for operating machinery and crashing it or a workplace injury. This is nothing new. If you smoke pot after work off the clock (like many factory workers do the post work beers/liquor) why does it matter? Nobody is advocating for the ability to smoke/drink/shoot up on the job.
  7. 1) Why are factories drug testing? What does that achieve? It's totally different if you have a CDL or get into a crash at the workplace on the clock, but having worked third shift menial factory work there's no reason to test. 2) This has always been a problem, it's nothing new - no call no show. If companies hired people instead of using temp agencies that pay crap and treat you like crap maybe it wouldn't be as big of an issue. I got accused of no call now showing when I had to quit my summer job to go back to school and was blackballed from the temp agency when I tried to apply over the next break. Kind of funny that nowadays nobody wants to work for them! Factories need to pay more because there are plenty of other decent paying opportunities that don't involve stuffing sundae cups into a machine for 8 hours or standing in a freezer stacking things for 8 hours for $1 more an hour.
  8. Some photos from Cleveland Construction today, according to their social media construction is wrapping up this month (https://twitter.com/CCI_Contractors/status/1666807486614208512/)
  9. I'd love for it to be a referendum. I'd venture to say that a large majority of people who come to games do so from out of the county. I'd love to see the season ticket holder breakdown but I'm sure that's kept under lock and key.
  10. Any news or rumblings about signal prioritization on Euclid? Sorry, came across my mind coming into town today...
  11. They've done it in the past with the shortlived InCuya Fest and ASG among others... InCuya: MLB ASG (fun fact, this was the first time I've been on the mall and while it was bouncing, really put a lot of trust into the convention center designers with this one):
  12. I think some of the new downtown "plan" announced yesterday should help with some of this. Also concerts are starting back up today, I think? I'll add to this though, I know there were renderings for a playground a few years back- what ever happened to that? There are like zero places for a kid to play downtown.
  13. We need to study them for 74 years first! In spite of them (or ANY traffic calming infrastructure) being used worldwide.
  14. This whole thing was insane. I bet if you plop the JC in one of their wards they'll lose it. "it's our jail" lol no, it belongs to the county.
  15. hmm looks like this one flew under the radar...it was transferred from Wyrwas to the Metroparks on 12/27/2021.
  16. Should install a zipline from the crane to the crib
  17. Post meetup pics, added bonus some brewery after dark photos haha The photo quality of these isn't great but wanted to capture how they'll get a piece of the skyline too (at least for now).
  18. A few City Club events dealing w/this too: Most relevant: https://www.cityclub.org/forums/2023/06/27/mapping-the-economic-future-of-downtown-cleveland There's also a ULI event discussing the "State of the Office: Office Trends" on 6/8: https://cleveland.uli.org/events/detail/00E4444C-0D09-4381-B8D8-F2F66CE90D4A/
  19. looks like an AI generation of 'smoky stage on spacestation'
  20. Someone posted a photo a while back at the ReStore of all the upstairs seating and accessories being out for sale. Places change, things evolve, but this is a real bummer. The basement lanes have nothing on the upstairs setup.
  21. Kind of regret riding the Xenia to Cinci part in the dark, the Little Miami trail seemed pretty awesome from what I was able to light up haha

idk how streetview drivers do it and remain sane. This sounds roooough.
