Cleveland police to increase ‘unarmed uniformed’ presence on Public Square (From DCA's LinkedIn Page) Today, Downtown Cleveland Alliance (DCA) and the Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) are opening a Co-Deployment Center on the first floor of Tower City Center. DCA’s collaboration with city leadership continues to help offer a welcoming environment at the city’s core. This is a national best practice, and we hope to expand the program assuming it is successful. More information can be found below... Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
WeWork is a terrible company but that's a discussion for another part of the forum. Searching google for "coworking spaces downtown Cleveland" yields a bunch of results. It looks like quite a few are scattered in the downtown core.

I'm guessing? additional blown-in insulation. He was saying they could hear their neighbors, uh, hanging out, while they were watching TV multiple times.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
With you a million percent @jonoh81. Your last sentence really brought it home - it's been years of chipping away at things to breed such apathy. Now that the SC is completely red it's only going to get worse. I think part of getting more people engaged is not just using folks for photo ops and instead engaging with the poor, weak, and downtrodden. I don't think people realize that things like the food bank expansion up here in Cleveland is a result of federal dollars, or the lack of transit is a result of state lawmakers not caring, or that the cost of electricity is burdened by HB6 and the surrounding corruption. It also takes a ton of energy and resources to be engaged - a lot of these neighborhoods barely have accessible internet access.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
My coworker moved into Intro a couple months ago and it sounds like they're working out kinks left and right. Walls are thin (apparently they're working on fixing that), some fixtures didn't work and stuff like that. I'd imagine this is an issue with any new build and tight move-in schedule, but yeah..

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
This - if folks don't think politicians are working for them or care about them what's the incentive to vote? There are 1000 other things to worry about and caring about some unknown politician (congressperson, judge, etc.) is exponentially low on that list when you can't put food on the table.

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
I was definitely a bit more salty than was necessary because I do want him to succeed and our city to succeed. I also get the point of him traveling and promoting the city but yeah, last weeks events really showed a lapse in his (and his staff's judgement). There's a ton of red tape and issues with our current system, if he can cut through even a tiny bit of it good for him and us(!).

This'll be a neat spot to watch it rise:- Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I get your point, but COVID absolutely decimated their downtown workforce. I work across the street - I've seen like 2-3 people come out of there when I'm on my lunch breaks and their cafeteria on the first floor has been empty save 1-2 people most days. I swear the county brought us back into the office just to subsidize Geis' parking garage and Heinens. Downtown work ain't what it used to be.- Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
lol I forgot the name, I was thinking the same thing. We'll quickly see a "what's a Pugu" comment if the past is any indicator.- Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
I've kind of soured on Bibb and I'm tired of him doing cheerleading trips and his people defending him through all the criticism, but this an extreme sky is falling type comment. Please tell us more about how he treats his staff and waitstaff? Let us in on all of this insider info that you seem to have. I'm over his honeymoon period, and I think a lot of other folks are really, really tired of the photo ops and attention without seemingly any action that he's had. I get it, the bureaucracy is absolutely wild in our city but from my perspective I've seen so little change that it's really getting to me. He campaigned on a lot of ideas, notably the "People Over Cars" mantra and hooboy I've seen nothing other than small scale pilot programs and a planning director that doesn't like criticism (why is the midway taking 47 years? where are contiguous bike lanes/networks? why are we building 'speed tables' and not installing permanent speed bumps?, etc.). It's a thankless profession - I don't want it, but still, I want to see something. At least my councilwoman Rebecca Maurer is transparent and is putting out information on all the issues, we need the same from our Mayor and his team.- Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Friendly reminder that once the article gets written out/published for the news tomorrow you can access it free through library resources. Same goes for Crain's digital access.- Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
He's not Frank, but my frustration with Bibb is starting to mount. Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb abruptly ends interview when pressed about resident response to leaf pickup https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/cleveland-metro/cleveland-mayor-justin-bibb-abruptly-ends-interview-when-questioned-about-leaf-pickup-upsetting-residents- Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center

Well??? lol kidding- Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
Oh man, reading this is an exercise in seeing just how NEO leaders kick themselves over and over. Most notably the portion about how they made money from the sale of HQ and all of that jazz. To borrow a line from South Park ...annnnnnd it's gone.- Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Ok, the building is great and all but how am I supposed to get ahold of Marie now?- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
There's a restroom in the rebol building - like outdoor access, but I've never actually tried to use it during the day. The city also made a point of having a trailer restroom on PS this summer - not sure if that'll come back once the ice rink is around.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
Browns subreddit has been fun - if tickets keep dropping I might have to make my way back downtown tonight to see the bengals play... - Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
