Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Couldn't really figure out what exactly happened but one of the new HL busses was in a crash today. Bus looked fine, drivers side of the Equinox was pushed in pretty far. The bus was stopped going north right before the busway through PS, and car was off parked next to the old courthouse. Maybe the person turned from Euclid into the bus coming around the square?

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Is it the combination of Courts Tower and Justice Center that has our estimate at the original $500M (now $700M)? Looking over Franklin County's facility theirs cost $360M to build - 430,000 sq. ft., 864 beds expanding to another 426 in the next phase. I'm sure timing also played a part, but is our huge price tag just for a jail?

Well put.

2022 Ohio Gubernatorial Election
He's known in the state and hasn't rocked the boat too much - he's been able to distract from his tyrannical (not really, but to hard r base) COVID decisions and pivot to abortion. Additionally, by refusing to debate Whaley he's not giving her the platform/keeping her unknown to a large part of the state. If they debated she'd get more attention than he's comfortable with.

Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
My cell phone is conveniently broken but the former parking lots facing W.25 are pretty much completely grass now - lots of benches and seats on the ready to go in the new 'park'.

Cleveland: Population Trends
I'm a WNY native and whenever I'm driving back after a holiday I swear 3/4 cars driving west have Ohio plates. I know a handful of people from my small HS that now live in Ohio. I know personal observation doesn't represent a trend but it always is interesting seeing it.

Cleveland: Brooklyn Centre / Old Brooklyn: Development and News
Oh man, definitely neglected lately but love love love this spot (even if it might fall into the valley eventually lol). PS- advertising it as an AirBnB, these real estate schmucks love love love to sell our city out to "investors". PSS- this probably fits more in the weird real estate thread.

Cleveland: St. Clair-Superior (non-Asiatown): Development and News
Not to defend Famicos, but before they took it over a lot of the damage was already done. Not sure where I saw it posted (maybe here?) but I feel like for a while there there were a lot of urbex photos and whatnot of the old restaurant. I haven't gone by there in a hot minute so maybe its worse today than it was, but I think the damage has been more of a slow burn than anything.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
I don't trust GE at all. I used to live in Erie and they'd tear down structures all over their GE Transportation site to lower their tax burden. It's nothing more than a shuffling of the books in their minds.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Speaking of slices, walked past the Vincenza's space this morning and all of the stainless steel fixtures have been moved towards the door. I saw a few folks in there a couple weeks ago looking like they were spec'ing the place out. Curious what's in the cards for the space, honestly it's big enough to split into two separate restos. And in the same building, it's kind of a bummer what happened to the Indies space - cool that Sushi 86/Poke were able to take over the storefront and grow, but the way they did it, it kind of killed the small food court vibe of the area.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Been to a couple games this year, including opening day. I couldn't believe just how many people had on Guardians stuff. Sure you see your share of Keep the Chief shirts or some other GV Art crap, but seems like most game going fans don't care and are there for the baseball. Was talking with someone who was like "I don't watch since then..." these same people also probably "stopped" watching football. I'm sure they'll come around when Guards are in a World Series, staunch stances only go so far lol

Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
Nothing's going on at the OC site (aside from the project board being updated to say Justin Bibb, Mayor on the sign), also biked through the area where the new stables are going to go (I guess?) and there's noooooooo work except for a catch basin. Here's a photo from what's left of Chadakoin St. (where the stable is supposed to go). @freefourur here's a dropped pin of the street https://goo.gl/maps/7BuVFFtQCaPUVMEF8.
