Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Just a reminder that the public has access to 360 deg oblique imagery via the county's web mapping application (maps.cuyahogacounty.us) here a few are of the station (and trees/McNulty's development) as well as from today's bike ride in of the apts going up over the old junkyard. And the new apts:

Cleveland: Downtown Parks & Public Spaces - Development/Construction
It's also a county levy and a high one at that, I don't think someone in Brecksville wants to start paying to maintain all of Clevelands parks nor is it fair to expect that. Maybe some accountability needs to come to that $10M in wages. An example: my coworker swims at one of the rec centers- pool was exceptionally dirty and lining wasn't cleaned. He mentioned the need for a vacuum and got brushed off repeatedly, I think it's safe to say this mindset is pretty normalized across the board.

I'm feeling cynical today but I don't like the idea of subbing EVERYTHING out to the metroparks - yes, they do a bangup job and would be an amazing resource - but at the same time metroparks are funded from countywide sources whereas Cleveland taxes pay for Cleveland parks. I know that it's more than city residents who use the malls (and other Cle parks), but at some point we need to demand (at least) adequate service from the city services we pay for. The city can't depend on being bailed out by the metroparks everytime a department or agency fails. idk maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill but I'd like our city and its employees to get its sh*t together for once instead of taking the easy way out.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Call me cynical but I had the same reaction - oh great another level bureaucratic org consisting of meetings about meetings by people who love meetings - it doesn't take a commission to look around Public Square's chopped down trees, Euclid Ave.'s chopped down trees, the Shoreway, etc. to see we have a major problem. Curious how the enforcement goes- will they start fining CPP? ha

I'm always telling people this when they try and tell me 'how dangerous the city is' - like, as long as you aren't being an idiot or mixed up in something dumb you're going to be fine. I bike a bunch of the 'bad' areas and shoot, more people wave to me or are friendly towards me compared to the fancier parts of town (or suburbs for that matter).- Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway Megaproject
Just a side note that they're filming in the ATT building today, whoever it is they're also using the old Winking Lizard for food (trucks say NBC Universal on them). Only posting here because it was part of the conversation a bit up thread. I was surprised to see them going in/out of the building knowing how high security it seems.- Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
