Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
lol I actually didn't get many, was too focused on the bumpy ride I did however catch a dude flying a mini plane (using the fresh pavement as a runway lol). https://streamable.com/kj2kfy It didn't work out for him hah (btw you can see the new RR bridge in the background)

Also I rode the entirety of the OC on my trusty gravel bike during that ride and they're making some real progress in most spots. The retaining wall around E55 is probably one of the more impressive portions at this point, it's almost like a canyon. The underpass at 55 is done (not paved), bridge near Kingsbury Run valley still needs to be built, bridge over RTA tracks around Colfax is 75% there, area under mainline RR tracks is still being worked on (Grand Ave-ish), otherwise, the majority of it is graded out and portions in non-construction areas are starting to get paved.

Cleveland-Akron: Bicycling Developments and News
One million percent. I was on Bike Cleveland's Annual Meeting a few months ago and I couldn't help but be disgusted by my councilman acting like we've made real progress/it's safe for non-drivers. If you're not in the hip neighborhoods (and even then!) you're often risking your life getting on our roads. The fact that all our roads are at least ten feet too wide or too many lanes just makes it even more apparent. So many studies show that more people cycle when it's safer for them to do so (protected bike lanes, dedicated lanes, etc.), yet our leadership just redid W. 65 with nothing bc of concerns over traffic congestion... When I'm in the office, my commute is ~6 miles from OB into the city and it involves W25/Pearl for a healthy portion and ooooof, no bueno. I've debated a move to Slavic Village but the only true route into the city goes down Broadway - I just rode that yesterday around 6PM and yeah, not great. I consider myself pretty fearless on the bike, but know I'm a huge exception compared to the majority of the biking public, we need more bike/ped infra and with that more connected bike/ped infra. Every road should have some element, no excuses.

I rode it a handful of times before it was 'officially' open and it's pretty darn cool having the RTA pass by while you're riding. Much much more enjoyable than riding parallel to 90 on the other portion by Zone Rec. Here's to more bike connectivity!

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
I know this isn't the rail forum, but still, the concept of having a station out here is a good idea/seems similar to the situation in Buffalo - they have their downtown station (Exchange Street) and their suburban station (Depew, ~6mi from downtown). It seems like the idea of leveraging the redline would be a great 1-2 punch, and could lend to expansion of it (wishful thinking??). Either way, really looking forward to what's planned, hopefully it's as forward thinking as the forum hopes it is hah.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
This, all of this. It doesn't take much googling to see what a terrible person Bobby G. is and to accept money and a venue from the bigot literally flies in the face of so many people in this city. Per the second half, I'm still on Team Bibb just because I feel like for what he doesn't know, he'd bring in the right people that do know. I've seen evidence of this from his initial launch and going forward. Cleveland needs younger leaders, we need new blood, not this constant rehashing of Cuy Dem choices. A job of a mayor, county exec., etc. isn't to know everything, it's to be a good manager with vision- things that the region has been lacking for years. We have an amazing city with great people and frankly, I don't think someone who's been part of the problem (Kelley, Kucinich, etc.) would do much to move us forward vs just treading water.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
Do you have any insight into their capital stack? Are they actually ready to go this time? If they don't win TMUD is it still a go?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Not sure when Naymik had this graphic but that imagery is ooooold. Here's his shape on current aerial imagery. I'd imagine they could bump it up all the way to 90.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Just a general FYI, as long as the parcel geometry doesn't change ownership changes will update nightly from the county's CAMA database, if geometries change (splits/combines, subdivisions, etc.) those changes will typically be reflected on Friday afternoons. I know the above isn't necessarily specific to the City Club Apts, but here's to hoping the transfer is working its way through the County Fiscal Department.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
Potential for some really, really cool views of the lake and E9 in general. Rooftop restaurant/bar would be solid too!

2021 NFL Draft
I've noticed that since the weather broke they've been getting more city shots. It's like they were just waiting for it and now they seem to be pointing the cameras in that direction. I agree though, it would've been nice to have the stage oriented the other way but it would've been kind of awkward. Overall though it seems like (weather aside) Cleveland's done a pretty great job. I think tomorrow is going to be great - weather is going to be good and the city should really shine.

2021 NFL Draft
I went down there last night and they've got it locked down like there's going to be a bunch of billionares walking around lol. I'll post one of the dSLR pics I got once I get it on my laptop...

As a cyclist and a curmudgeon - color me unsurprised. Our city leadership across multiple departments is embarrassing but I'll save that for another area of UO.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I've heard that the reason behind all the random 35MPH streets around town has something to do with ODOT. I don't know the source or whatever and perhaps someone on here could elaborate. I totally agree though, no street in the city should be above 25, granted it's not like the cops enforce it anyways.

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
This is from the other day - the exit point will come to about where I was standing. It looks like they redid the cement on the lift bridge sidewalk. That'll be a narrow bike ride 😬

Hotel Indigo TV News Spot: https://www.cleveland19.com/2021/04/19/cleveland-comeback-downtowns-hotel-indigo-reopens-following-significant-transformation/ I've stayed in a handful of HI's and they're quality hotels with above board stuff. I think it's quite the 'mid-level' hotel to have, especially so close to RMFH.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I was riding my bike up Franklin Blvd. and it's wild how much this building pops when you get to the top of the hill. This is taken slightly to the right near Front Steps, but if you're bored, pop up to the top of the street and check it out. Now let's fill in the CCF parking lot so we can't see it anymore :P.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
So do they have funding in place or is this some PR blitz by them to try and close up the gap? It seems like a lot of this media hype isn't really saying much other than teasing the project. Like we have been on here for years, then it hits a snag (TMUD for instance).

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I've waited for a rideshare at the current station countless times- they can never find the entrance and when they do it looks abandoned and they turn around. Tower City would eliminate that BS, and topic for another forum, but the wayfinding to the current station is the woooorst if you don't already know where it is/how to get there.

Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News
Just a side note with the Velodrome, the construction trailer serves as their office/storage/etc. so I wouldn't read into that at all.
