Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
I'm excited for another tonedeaf DCA response. I mean, I get that they're repairing the place but comeon, you only need your work truck there no need for the workers to think this is their personal parking. If only there was a surface parking lot ACROSS THE STREET. Maybe we need some jersey barriers on this area of the park. Ugh, I really wonder what an active mayor would be like.

Ohio to Erie Trail (Cincinnati to Cleveland)
Whooo boy, this thread is quiet. I'm planning on cycling from Cleveland-Cinci over the July 4th weekend (and then some). Looking forward to seeing Ohio from a different perspective (cough cough, not via 71 ?). I've cycled to Akron via the towpath but not much further outside of that- any tips or must see spots along the trail network? Hoping this helps shed some of the COVID-19 weight I've put on in hibernation....ugh.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
No development, no construction but I know folks will see it here. Happy dad's day to all you neo (and outside creepers :P) UO dads. Hope it's been a good one!

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
I really think the malls are something unique to cle and should stay greenspace as much as possible (active greenspace that is). As weird as our skyline may be from certain angles I really do think the malls add an element to cle that not many cities have. And oh yeah, surface parking, burn all that before we even start talking utilizing the malls.

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
If only there were a technology where you could do a suitability analysis based on foot traffic, areas with higher concentrations of kiddos, and public greenspace...oh wait, there is ? . I tried to get on the DCA YP board but they didn't seem to think location intelligence/GIS was important ?♂️

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
ooooooo they even lit up the may company on the overhang, sweet!

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
lol yep, @veganbrisket over here. @urbanetics_ I think posted to your thread or something. Either way (back on topic lol) great building, what a change from a few years ago...Euclid is looking pretty spiffy these days. ---- Also (to drag it back off topic), what's up with these competing guardians lol looks like it could be a Mortal Combat Fight Scene

Great shots @mrclifton88! I think I just followed you on twitter lol

Cleveland: Brooklyn Centre / Old Brooklyn: Development and News
This Old Brooklynite approves! It's an interesting spot to walk around, going to be strange seeing it turned into park land BUT it'll be awesome. There are some homeless folks in there so I hope they're able to find them alternative housing....maybe across the bridge at the new housing? Edit: thanks @Boomerang_Brian for reading the article for me, I jumped the gun! Lol

UO Group Swim! lol I kid.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Perhaps it's more of the downtown thread's speed or NEO business, but this is definitely reassuring when it comes to thinking about their behind the scenes work on the new tower. Maybe I'm overthinking it but 100k isn't exactly a drop in the bucket either.

Thanks for doing the googling for my lazy self...hate to be that guy hah

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
I don't get what's so bad about this, downtown needs a playground and we have ample public greenspace that should be utilized to the city's benefit. I get the local artist point, but for folks calling this ugly- it's a playground! It looks like a really cool space for kids. Edit: @LlamaLawyer put it much more eloquently than I. I'm 100% with you. Random tidbit but I was showing my buddy the 'Eye' statue in Dallas, it's a long story of how it got there but people flock around it nonetheless.

Anyone that has a pulse on this- are all things still a go despite the current economic situation?

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
lol you have a point. FWIW after some sleuthing this particular space is run by 'The Greening of Detroit' which is a non-profit and is part of The Detroit Partnership which is affiliated with Univ. of Michigan. Long story short, I know our local extension program is probably over stretched/under funded but as long as it'd be out of the city's hands (like, completely 10 ft pole+ away from the city) it could maybe work. Assuming the city doesn't acquiesce their control, or play ball I'd say some UO guerrilla gardening might be in order.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
It's a bit more extreme, but I love Detroit's urban garden right downtown. Lord knows we have enough surface parking to achieve something neat like this: https://goo.gl/maps/AuuNWRSLYrLnLveh9 I'd say it's worth talking to DCA, I know they manage a lot of the small landscaping around downtown...

As they say (or maybe just I say) the best thing you can have to prove your point is a map (and these days, a mapping application). Everything is spatial, especially when it comes to stuff like this. I don't want to promise too much, but I'm thinking something similar to this that I made for corona (which would report back to a map/dashboard/yada yada): https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/1e197c8d97354b59a258e792a82b66b3 this fed into a map after entries were verified (https://covid-19-cuyahoga.hub.arcgis.com/app/aace6758d9734122b7e75f1ea474ab00). Replace the restaurant talk with type of issue (streetscape, lighting, etc.) and maybe have it respond back if it's a CPP issue or something with contact information. I donno, spitballing at this point- but maybe @mrclifton88 if you could come up with a set of 'issues' that would be good to start with for a dropdown that'd be awesome. I could go as far as photos being added, but that eats up my limited storage- I need to figure an alternate way to handle that....

I could probably set up some GIS/map based application/survey/reporting thing. I just need to find some free time and I'll see what I can whip up.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Church+State (West 29th & Detroit Ave)
That last pic isn't an angle you see often, awesome! I've got to say with the cladding going up it looks a lot better in person than the renderings. It looked pretty strange on paper but I dig it.

Cleveland: Brooklyn Centre / Old Brooklyn: Development and News
It is a bummer, but better than a junk yard and ice cream shop that an investor is squatting on. I'm in total agreement with y'all. It's a weird spot but it deserves better than this.

Cleveland: Retail News
I'm cool with Target completely ironing out their stores in downtown cores before moving to Cleveland (I think it's safe to assume we'd eventually get a downtown location). Not that it wouldn't do well right off the bat, but eh, if it gets a longterm store here, I'll wait (granted I don't live downtown so I'm in a different situation than someone who's carless and needs to try and get to Steelyard via transit in a reasonable time frame....)

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
FWIW (not sure where it is currently) but MGK was supposed to open a coffee shop in the Archer Buildling (27 Club) which isn't exactly in the FEB complex but still, coffee is nearby. My only wish with all of this river development (and SHW moving) is boardwalk/public access throughout the entire east bank (maybe past Gateway?). Cleveland Planning/Council should require public ROW's/easements in any river developments going forward...

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
I did this plat a couple years ago, it looks like it's the only parcel that was sold out of this bunch on Carter. PPN 00426031 and AFN 201801260402 for the curious.

Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
And downtown- they've got ATM's in the former part of Winking Lizard on Huron and Prospect. Pretty large signage presence, but yeah, just ATMs.
