I must say, sometimes it feels too hip for a hipster but Coffee Coffee Coffee/Sixth City Cycles is a great spot to sit and read/chill out ($3 bottomless coffee is nice too!). If you're in Old Brooklyn, it's definitely worth a stop.
  3. Just pmed. Hopefully I didn't jump the gun, they were shooting optical from the old cash stop ish towards southern tier on the sidewalk. Mods, feel free to move this somewhere more appropriate
  4. I walked around/tried to find the guys but it was prime lunch time so no dice. It's been a few years, who knows if they'd recognize me at this point lol
  5. Looks like my former engineering firm was doing some surveying on the Prospect side of things, not sure if it's related to this project or not, but it seems right?
  6. Especially if they liked/were basing ideas on Goodyear.... Edit: not Eaton, thanks @KJP
  7. It sucks it's not in Cleveland, but it also helps with the idea of a waterfront permanent easement/boardwalk along the river type deal. I know people have commented how it doesn't need to be Ft. Knox, but I have a feeling their Brecksville facilities won't be too welcoming to outsiders outside of the hotel/possible Pinecresty element? I'm happy that taxes stay in the county, again, it sucks that it's going where it is. Maybe this facilitates some more bus service from DT to out there among other regional benefits.
  8. I'm 50/50 based on the rendering, but also, thinking about looking down Euclid towards PHQ this would be a cool piece of the gateway from E9. Thanks @tykaps.
  9. Possible rendering? Obviously a few stories taller though...
  10. The main complaint er one of them about CH is how hard it is to get places, brt (even just to the redline) would help a ton with that stigma. Honestly less vehicle traffic is a reason I'd consider moving there lol. Although w25/Pearl corridor is going to light up in the next handful of years.
  11. I honestly wouldn't blame Crains/Bullard, depending on the outcome that's the mayor protecting one hell of an NDA and project.
  12. I guess someone wasn't in the right elevator at the right time.
  13. Market Square Plat came through the other day - AFN 202002030246 for the curious
  14. I also like the addition of Six Shooter. Compared to other options in the area Erie Island is pretty terrible, good to see some quality coffee on that street.
  15. Grew up in a town of ~10k, and an area of (being generous), 20k. Part of being a 'small town' is being miles from anything, you drive for the hell of it, and don't have a quarter of the features RR has. RR is NOT a small town, sure, maybe population wise at 20k, but it borders one of the most dense cities in the state (Lakewood), which neighbors a major city. It's one city removed from Cleveland. For reference, my hometown was over an hour from Buffalo or Erie, with grapes, corn, and nothing-ness in between, the school up the hill had a bring your tractor to school day and my mascot was the Hillbilly (and graduating class was ~130). Rant, sure, but my point is RR is nothing close to a small town...
  16. Any idea what's going on at the old Huron Point Tavern?
  17. They may be honk happy, but it is nice to know they're coming up behind you. I've generally had a good experience too, but that doesn't mean the occasional driver doesn't buzz you on occasion. When I was in Erie, I knew an experienced city cyclist who got clipped by a bus mirror and afterwards I think they updated some training procedures. If I'm not mistaken part of the training involved bus drivers being on a bike and getting passed by a bus in order to understand how spooky and dangerous an experience can be. It'd be nice if some RTA drivers could go through something similar.
  18. I posted about it on twitter as I was stuck on a "BRT" Metroline bus (51B) a while back (idk how they were able to call that BRT but I digress), and thought this same thing. It takes me roughly 30 minutes to ride my bike and change, 35-40ish+ for the bus (assuming you get it, otherwise it's a half hour wait), and driving takes 20-25 mins after parking. I purchase a bus pass through work and rarely is it worth it tbh, even at a reduced rate. I can't imagine not getting some discount and continuing to ride it over driving. For reference I live in Old Brooklyn, about a 6 mile straight shot into town. Not only to busses need dedicated lanes and priority, but they also need respect from drivers - one thing I love about watching public transit in other places (Montreal in particular in this case), is how drivers respect busses and realize they need to merge (and will merge), the busses even have something on the back letting people know that.

Just gotta say the past few days' sunsets have been on point (and great for biking...)! Now it seems we're back to grey lol
  20. If someone could get their hands on the rent registry through the city (which is required, but many people treat it as 'voluntary' wink wink) you could see just how many units are rentals, and potentially how many units are in said buildings. I doubt many people in LI actually do this though....
  21. Obviously not quite the same, but I used to do airbnb at my place and had a guy that would come up from Columbus to Cleve just to drive because (in his mind) the increased fees were worth the hassle. Echoing @metrocity I hate ridesharing when folks aren't from the area and can barely follow a GPS on their phone (when it works). There's one thing to be said about taxi drivers they generally know where they're going and are familiar with peculiarities- if only they got with the 21st Century and all accepted cards/paypal and were more transparent with their fares...
  22. Not the best pic, but got this on my bike commute in today- it's the best I could do without rolling into a cement truck lol
  23. I can't imagine working for SHW and this being held over your head w/o an announcement for so long. I get due diligence, but all they had to say is they're staying in Cleveland to help reassure employees in some way. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but at the same time, not knowing 100% for this long would drive my anxiety through the roof! Meanwhile, in Atlanta, some real estate twitter/self promoting 'site selecting specialist': Edit: as always thanks @KJP
