  1. Btw, it's not quite a restaurant, but a lot of us downtown workers go there for lunch- I was talking with one of the folks at Heinens and she said the downtown store has a new manager. I don't know what all could change food wise, but she made it sound like he's a bit younger and it should be interesting (he also had a food truck out on Euclid for the staff today to 'celebrate', so he must be a pretty good guy!) Also, looks like Bloom at CSU will be back up and running by January (Public Square isn't part of this as of now) https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2019/11/bloom-bakerys-csu-location-to-reopen-with-new-owners-and-name-same-social-mission.html

From my walk today in Barn Ct.
  3. Fwiw, garage doors in the back
  4. Not quite the same size as Frankfort, but a good sign to the development, Broome Court was vacated as of 11/21.
  5. Whoa, that was a really great and genuine piece- sometimes I feel like the authors of these travel pieces really don't care about the cities that they're visiting but man, this dude really captured the Cleveland that I love!
  6. As promised ( @Frmr CLEder) the numbers represent the elevation. These contours are from 2006 and are paired up with Spring 2019 imagery so some things have obviously changed. Technology has also obviously changed a lot in 13 years, and with that, the newer LiDAR/contours will be of much higher quality (same with a site survey, obviously), but alas, this gives a general idea of the site.
  7. It makes a lot more sense when you're looking at a spot with more elevation change such as a hill, but it shows the general grade of the lot and where it flows. I'll see if I can label these and send something that makes a bit more sense. Usually contours are at like 5' and 10' increments, these are at 2'. Perhaps 1' may help a bit more too. I'll get something over, if not today this weekend, not that it really will show much other than how flat Cleveland is lol
  8. I get it, I mean it makes sense they're a top bill act (I guess I just find it weird for The National to hitch their train to them). It seems everyone last time was just like so curated to The National and their sound - this one kind of just seems like an indie music fest. Maybe I've got rose colored glasses on looking back at the first HC, but damn it was just near perfect.
  9. Of Monsters and Men is a weird top bill act IMO, it was such a crazy mix of amazing talent the first time around, I'm really curious who the downbill acts are going to be once the schedule fills out a bit more.
  10. And I know I said it above, but seriously if you can buy at the airport (in advance) - avoiding their fees would bring that flight down to <$100. I've also never had problems with the gate agent taking on a reasonably stuffed (and compressed) backpack, granted ours care a lot less than some agents in other cities. Once you're on the flight (this goes for Spirit or Frontier) I've never seen a flight attendant get angry if you throw your bag above your seat.
  11. Here's LiDAR data/contours from 2006, a flight for newer LiDAR data is currently underway, but it's not like much has changed with these lots in that time (courtesy of https://maps.cuyahogacounty.us/html5viewer/?viewer=ccgis )
  12. I've tried to scour google and local historical sites and haven't really been able to find any photos of the waiting room area. I feel like I saw something a long while ago, but have no idea where I found it- do you have anything on your end?
  13. I know it's still relatively early in the process, but did they give a timeframe? Or estimated construction window?
  14. Agreed, it was a huge push to get a dem majority court in PA and they let the big cities know it (I want to say a lot of the judges were from either Philly or PGH). I was living in PGH at the time and they had a roadshow going and again, made it known. I feel like that was around spring of the election year? Hopefully the state dems realize this is a huge opportunity.
  15. I just came across this today (and glad you already posted this haha), I was just showing my brother (he's in PA) Jim Jordan's district as well as the 'snake on the lake' as an example of how screwed up things are. Pennsylvania recently redrew their districts with their (democratically controlled) Supreme Court, despite it being very similar to Ohio w/GOP control outside of cities - he wondered why we couldn't 'stack' the court like PA did during elections. Also, WKSU had a good piece on Jim Jordan's district: https://www.wksu.org/post/how-did-ohios-most-liberal-city-end-its-most-conservative-congressman
  16. WAIT, I thought they were moving to Atlanta?!?!!:!?!?!! lol
  17. It's a Greyhound/RTA of the sky, but if you're looking for a super cheap flight and understand what you get for the price, I don't think it's too bad. For instance, if you buy tickets at the airport (in advance or whatever), it'll save you upwards of 25 bucks each way - I used this a while back and got a flight to Dallas RT for like 85 dollars. Flying on a 'major' carrier after Spirit truly feels like first class haha but cheap is cheap. Edit: I also like to compare to where they get placed in the terminal and experience to like the illustrations of an angler fish - the dark deep corners of the airport lol I know I'm really selling it over here, it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be! (That goes for Frontier too).
  18. No love for Spirit ? ?? Speaking of, upthread folks were talking about possibly having a 'hub' for Frontier or Spirit, do folks think this is a reasonable idea?
  19. One of the under construction storefronts we all poked our heads up to at one point or another was for Bedrocks customer offices, it's probably been done a while but first time I noticed
  20. So I walked down this way to see if the drilling rigs were still on the Weston lots but they were already gone for the day. Here's a few pics of the Xmas decorations/ice rink and changes looking down Euclid (notice the May Company letters getting filled in up top)
  21. I think I know where I'm going for my lunch walk today... Edit: by the time I got down there they were wrapped up
  22. Not sure if this may help but I've seen doodle polls be helpful for this, I created one here: https://doodle.com/poll/m8gsbuzfsuinvxpm It's not collecting emails or any information, just times/username.
  23. I was going to say the same thing, I was talking to Mr. Fluker a while back (totally by chance) at Goldhorn and he seemed pretty excited about moving into that building. I guess the ongoing issues with that property proved to be the nail in the coffin, hopefully something can resurrect that space!
